"I toured Garden Place Columbia with my dad. It's much larger. It was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were fabulous. The person who gave me the tour was wonderful. She was great. Their dining area looks ideal. It's perfect. They have rooms for activities and then they have a list posted of what the activities are going to be for the next month. I was very impressed with that. The facility was beautiful. It looks new and well maintained."

"I just recently visited and selected Kingsland Walk as the next home for my mother. She is very excited about moving as she was very active prior to Covid. Now that she is no longer able to drive and live on her own she wants a facility that is nice and provides an opportunity to have a social life again. The staff was all very professional during and after my initial visit. We are working with them now to complete the intake process. Another rating to come post move in. "

"Sunrise is close to my home, so I have easy access to get there if I need to do anything for my sister. The price is right. I'm very pleased with it. I have nothing that I can complain about. She shares a room, but it has a divider, so she doesn't see the other person at all, and she has complete privacy. The food is fine. The restaurant does very well. "

"My mother-in-law is in Brookdale Creve Coeur. There is always someone at the front desk, always courteous, always very happy, and helpful. A lot of times, there's a gathering for people going out on some sort of activity and there's someone at the piano playing in the background. There are groups sitting around talking to each other. The rooms are great. We've had to call maintenance and they got there so quickly. They have a call button to push for the residents every morning and if they don't and they do not see them at breakfast, they come up."

"Autumn View Gardens - St. Louis was a very nice facility. It seemed to be clean and updated. My mother-in-law seemed to be very comfortable with the access that they had between the two sections. The memory care was kind of in its own wing, but there was a lot of access between memory care and assisted living so she will be able to go over to my father-in-law if she needed to. So, it was set up very nicely that way. The staff was friendly and there was a lot of interaction between the staff and the residents. They had medical personnel that would come in regularly, as well as someone that did hairdressing. They had a lot of activities. They had a TV room, a chapel, and a craft area."

"The Solana West was gorgeous. The rooms, the staff are very, very nice. There was nothing I would have disliked about it at all. It's brand new, so everything is very nicely decorated, pretty, and clean. Everybody seems wonderful. I would recommend them to others. "

"In the last 12 months Town & Country Senior Living, has had: 2 Executive Directors, 4 Director of Wellness, High turnover of staff, Unable to get direct email for staff (had to go through main line), Poor communication between residents, staff, family and in house doctor, less than a year it has changed ownership again."

"Friendship village is a nice facility however there are some drawbacks. The facility is adding condominiums around their retention pond/ manmade lake. It has a walking course it has card tables and exercise equipment on each floor. The place is great until critical care then it is only pretty good. Especially in this recession with social security drying up a bit retirement communities even non profit ones such as friendship village are being forced to start looking more at the money side of things. They are looking to expanding and adding many new condo type living units that are barely assisted living at all to make money through selling them as well as to insure clients that will fill spaces in the future when they cannot live on their own anymore. Because of this monetarily based focus the patients that need a lot of care such as my grandmother get ignored more than they should and are not given the care that I believe she should be receiving. Because of this my grandmother has had to pay for a private nurse to come in and make visits as well s to direct the staff to her aid as my grandmother isn't really able to fully articulate what she needs and she is too proud to ask for help. When she was in need of less assistance the facility was great for her. She exercised had a nice community of people she was friends with and the dining hall is actually quite good. I have been there for thanksgiving and eaten thanksgiving there a few times and have been pleasantly surprised. The staff are kind in general and I believe it is still a great place to live. They also have cheap rooms for rent when visiting your family members on premises in the building that come with an email in the dining hall. This is nice because you are right there with your family member. There was a time when my grandmother believed that some things were being stolen by employees from her room but I think it is likely more due to her poor health condition and aging memory. Because friendship village is a non profit it is much more catering towards the quality of life the patients receive rather than just get out as much money as possible. My great uncle Alvin when he was about to pass away was in a nursing home not nearly s nice as friendship village and he ended up being miserable the last year or so of his life which is quite tragic. If you live in this area friendship village is definitely a great option I do believe the waiting list is somewhat long however I am not sure. There is a small lake and it is right next to a giant arboretum. It is pretty close to Saint Louis but still generally away from the hustle and bustle. "

"Garden Place Senior Living Millstadt looked older and so much more like a nursing home than the other places I've been to. They didn't seem to have as many activities as the other places we've seen. What they had was music, some entertainment, bingo, and movies. I also didn't think they had quite enough staff. Other than that, it's a very clean place. The dining room was very pleasant looking. It was a large room and it was open on both ends to the common rooms in the lobby and then the kitchen on another side. It had a lot of windows."

"I liked everything about The Lumiere of Chesterfield. They had a private chef who worked with the people who lived there to get on the menu what they preferred to eat according to their diet. A lot of these people are diabetics and when they go to another facility, they don't care what they eat, they just put garbage on the menu. This private chef makes a world of difference. They have high ceilings and big, spacious rooms. It's much more spacious than a lot of the facilities I've seen. It makes it feel much more luxurious and much more like home."

"I liked Autumn View Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care. They have what I was looking for in assisted living for my brother. They have the multiple bedroom shared apartments, where each person has a separate bedroom, but they share the kitchen and the bathroom. I think that it provides for a cheaper solution. They have some very nice open shared areas for the community residents. It is very nice. The staff is very knowledgeable, very welcoming, and very good."

"I toured here. They had a nice garden. They have nice apartments. I noticed they had full-sized kitchens and refrigerators. They were located in an urban area, which is nice for people who don't drive. All the people I met there were very nice. It seemed like a very good community. The staff was very good. He's very personable, very nice, covered everything, and took me around. I liked him and he was responsive to me when I had questions. They had a lovely dark area and a nice activity area. They have physical therapy and stuff like that. I think there was a theater. They offered transportation within 15 miles, I believe, and they were pet-friendly."

"I liked Garden Place. It was clean and didn't have any odors like most nursing homes do. The staff was very nice, and the rooms were nice and clean with two people to a room. The dining area was very nice and clean. The people were friendly. I would recommend it. "
