"Brookdale Creve Coeur was a large facility, and had a lot of residents. The place was very well set up. You could walk to the grocery store. They had a place for people who liked to garden. The person who gave me the tour was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about everything that went on there. They had a Jewish service as well as a Christian service. They also had a Bible study, and then the Rabbi came in once a week and did the teaching. I loved the variety of the cultures of the people within the building. They had a pool there and a small gym. Everything was provided in the apartment. It had a standard kitchen."

"I went to Solstice Senior Living at Fenton. It's like a bunch of apartments. It was clean. It was nice. The staff was very outgoing. He seemed to like the people, and the people seemed to like him. He answered all my questions. There was a pool table, a library, and a lot of books around it. There was a place where you could play cards. Next door to that they had weights and workout devices, a treadmill, and lifting weights. The rooms were nice. I told the young man, "I'm tired of cooking and cleaning. " He said "Everybody is around here." You're waited on. Once a week they clean your room. There are three meals a day. What more can you ask? It's as clean as a whistle. You can keep your own car, so you have freedom to come and go as you please."

"My mother moved into Briarcrest Estates for about a month now. We've been very pleased with the facility, they've been helpful in getting her settled in. They also have a caregiving company which they worked with, and we've been very pleased with their services as well. She has a 1-bedroom apartment, but they have studios and 2-bedrooms as well. They have a regular calendar of events, but she hasn't participated as yet. They have a library, an exercise room, they do sing-alongs, special nights for cooking, and they take residents to baseball games. She really liked breakfast, but she said the rest of them was average."

"Garden Place Columbia was smaller and had less flexibility for the residents in what they wanted to do. We wanted to be able to go over there and visit my sister and then eat with her, which was fine there, but they had to have a couple of hours' notice before we could have a meal with her. Their rooms were also much smaller and fairly dark. There weren't a lot of outside windows or anything, but other than that the staff was wonderful and the residents seemed very happy. I wouldn't have had any hesitation to place my sister there. The facilities were very clean and the layout was easy for someone to navigate."

"Overall, I was very impressed with the facility. It is a great place for my grandma to stay. At first she was hesitant, to say the least, about moving from her home of 45 years. But, after a while she came around to enjoying the staff and especially the other residents. From my perspective, the staff was very helpful and seemed to be doing what was need for my grandma. One time, my grandma remarked that it was wonderful having so many caring people to help with her daily tasks. Before she moved here, the family was primarily responsible for taking care of her. Now, this kind of service comes with a good sized price tag. But, I believe it is more than worth it. The neatest thing about the facilities is that everything she needs is on campus. She never really needs to leave the facility. She especially enjoys things such as the pool and social events. The facility itself was beautiful. Honestly, it's much better than my home. I'm really glad my grandma is staying here. "

"I liked everything about The Lumiere of Chesterfield. They had a private chef who worked with the people who lived there to get on the menu what they preferred to eat according to their diet. A lot of these people are diabetics and when they go to another facility, they don't care what they eat, they just put garbage on the menu. This private chef makes a world of difference. They have high ceilings and big, spacious rooms. It's much more spacious than a lot of the facilities I've seen. It makes it feel much more luxurious and much more like home."

"I chose Creek Valley Retirement Community. It was modern. It was larger than the ones I looked at and had more activities and amenities. There's a movie with 150 seats, games and cards, and, my daughter's particularly interested in art, and there are some art things. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. The residents were very nice. They came up to me and asked if I like to play this game and they were very pleasant."

"My parents are moving to the memory care unit of Fields of Florissant. I visited the place, and everybody there was friendly and helpful. It was a large, older building, but it was nice. It was beautiful the way it was set up. I liked the activity room. I loved the outdoor area where they can sit. They're so far away from the public, so if somebody walked out, you won't have anywhere to go but a bunch of land. I liked that location because it was just land everywhere. The whole area was under them. Across the street, they had independent living, which was all underneath them. It's just a large area, and I liked it. I liked the fact that it was all the way away from the public. The rooms were beautiful, and I loved the way they were set up. My mom and dad were going with a 2-bedroom apartment, and the second bedroom will be like a sitting room, as they had at their home. They had a nice little full kitchen minus the stove, which was important to me. They serve their meals in the dining area, so there was no need to do any cooking. They have restaurant-style serving and a variety of foods to choose from. They serve three meals a day. They had large bathrooms with walk-in closets and walk-in showers. I really liked the layout. They had sitting areas all over the building where the residents could sit. If they just want to come out of their apartment and don't really want to go anywhere, they have that setup. They could get their seniors out on field trips, too, and I liked that. I also liked the doctor on call. They had 24-hour available staffing, so if the residents had any problems, somebody would always be there to help. It felt like a lot of security."

"We visited The Villa at Riverwood. The room that we saw was very nice. The person who gave us the tour was really knowledgeable, and they told us what was what. They also do exercises there. The dining room was very nice; it's a restaurant type. The main thing for us is we can afford it."

"This senior living facility is 5+. The facility is very clean, inviting, and friendly. The entire staff is excellent! All staff members are very professional and caring. The residents are also very friendly and welcoming. The food is very good, and offers multiple options daily for variety, and to meet any dietary restrictions. We couldn’t have found a better place for our loved one!"

"It seemed like Harvester Residential Care was a pretty decent community. It was a very good experience. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and seemed to know what they were doing. The room that I saw looked pretty decent. The upkeep was nice. It was clean. They discussed the fact that I would get three meals a day, and they showed me what one of them would look like."

"Garden Place Senior Living Millstadt looked older and so much more like a nursing home than the other places I've been to. They didn't seem to have as many activities as the other places we've seen. What they had was music, some entertainment, bingo, and movies. I also didn't think they had quite enough staff. Other than that, it's a very clean place. The dining room was very pleasant looking. It was a large room and it was open on both ends to the common rooms in the lobby and then the kitchen on another side. It had a lot of windows."

"I toured The Boulevard of St Peters. The executive manager was awesome. He was so nice, caring, talkative, and guiding us in the right direction. The unit they showed me was two rooms. It's got a walk-in bath and a little kitchenette. The staff was beyond great. The place was brand new and perfect. They had a walking area, which was nice, too."

"The staff who toured us at St. Paul's Senior Community was young and fairly new at what she was doing, but she was very nice. She was trying to be professional for her age and did everything she could with what she had. The rooms had a large hospital bed, a bathroom, a TV, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The place was a bit quiet and looked a bit vintage."
