"I've chosen here for my mom, and she has moved in there. It's been great. It's very clean. The people there are very nice, and they seemed to actually care about the residents there. I feel comfortable with my mother being there. They keep them occupied to a great deal. I appreciate that as far as just sitting in her room, they've got stuff for her to do every day."

"Solstice Senior Living at Fenton was very nice. They spent a lot of time with us. I didn't find anything that we disliked. They offered us a meal, which we were not able to accept, but I thought that was very nice. There were a lot of people, and it was very active while we were there. There were a lot of activities on the second floor. We saw a one-bedroom, a studio, and a two-bedroom. They seemed very nice. The staff members were all pleasant."

"I had just signed a lease today at Briarcrest. I found it to be a pleasant place; it is exactly what I want. I found the place very ample size and very safe. They also offer very good food. However, I find the price shocking; there's too much flexibility. They went up in price, i.e., $200 between one month and another month. It was $200 a month for the same apartment. The rooms were more adequate, but the staff members were pushy and aggressive."

"The Villa at Riverwood is place is very nice. I was impressed with their entrance. I like the people that talked to me. The staff were helpful. It would be probably one of our choices if we decided to transfer. I really liked the place. "

"We looked at Friendship Village Chesterfield, it was wonderful, but just too expensive for us right now. The staff that we met were very nice, they're very good. They had lots to offer the residents. They had a swimming pool, they had a theater, an events room, an exercise room, a fitness center, and an arts center. We only saw a 1-bedroom at the time because they didn't have a 2-bedroom available, and there was a two-year wait for a 2-bedroom. So I thought that was kind of ridiculous. The 2-bedroom was a little tight, it's a bit on the small side. Their landscaping was very nice."

"I toured Garden Place Columbia with my dad. It's much larger. It was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were fabulous. The person who gave me the tour was wonderful. She was great. Their dining area looks ideal. It's perfect. They have rooms for activities and then they have a list posted of what the activities are going to be for the next month. I was very impressed with that. The facility was beautiful. It looks new and well maintained."

"I liked everything about The Lumiere of Chesterfield. They had a private chef who worked with the people who lived there to get on the menu what they preferred to eat according to their diet. A lot of these people are diabetics and when they go to another facility, they don't care what they eat, they just put garbage on the menu. This private chef makes a world of difference. They have high ceilings and big, spacious rooms. It's much more spacious than a lot of the facilities I've seen. It makes it feel much more luxurious and much more like home."

"I like Lake St. Charles Retirement Community. I was very impressed with it. It's nicely decorated. The only thing I dislike about it is that you can't have a washer and dryer, but I realized that before I went. They have laundromat places, but I'm living in an apartment and it's right in the closets. Their outside appearance was really nice and in some of the senior living apartments you can actually look down and see the lake. The staff member during the tour was excellent. I didn't meet anybody else. She was very accommodating, very friendly, and very down-to-earth."

"I chose Creek Valley Retirement Community. It was modern. It was larger than the ones I looked at and had more activities and amenities. There's a movie with 150 seats, games and cards, and, my daughter's particularly interested in art, and there are some art things. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. The residents were very nice. They came up to me and asked if I like to play this game and they were very pleasant."

"I visited Harvester Residential Care. The place was very nice. It was clean. There were people to talk to and they gave me all kinds of information. It was an easy conversation. The staff is friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to show me what they had. They have a room with a treadmill and exercise equipment. It's open to anybody's use if it is available."

"Garden Place Senior Living Millstadt looked older and so much more like a nursing home than the other places I've been to. They didn't seem to have as many activities as the other places we've seen. What they had was music, some entertainment, bingo, and movies. I also didn't think they had quite enough staff. Other than that, it's a very clean place. The dining room was very pleasant looking. It was a large room and it was open on both ends to the common rooms in the lobby and then the kitchen on another side. It had a lot of windows."

"I visited a friend over at St Paul's. It's entirely too big. If and when I ever have to go some place, it's going to be smaller. It's nice, but it is just absolutely too big. It's one of the better places, but I really don't like it. It's too spread out. My friend is 90+, and she's still up and around. Her apartment is on the fourth or fifth floor which means every time she leaves her apartment, which is often, she has to take the elevator down to the first floor and then you have to walk so far when you get to the first floor to get to the dining room, and she doesn't complain. She uses a walker, but it would be entirely too spread out for me. I have several friends from church over there. We went in to play cards, and they were going to serve us food in the card room, but we decided to go through the line and pick up our salad and then pick up our other food. On the other side of the building, they have a nursing home which is completely separate from the independent living. She has a 1-bedroom apartment, and she likes it very much. It's a very nice place. They rebuilt, and a lot of it is new. We play cards every two weeks in a room where they have different activities. It had a long table and a buffet. We had to get out by 3:00 because my pastor from my church has a bible study over there. It was a nice large room. They use it for a lot of meetings and get-togethers. My friend likes the food very much. You could get fish or Sloppy Joe sandwiches, which didn't appeal to me, but it was OK. We paid $5 because she had to pay for the guest. They have entertainment, and there's something you can go to every day. The staff all seemed nice and friendly and talked to us."

"I toured The Boulevard of St Peters. The executive manager was awesome. He was so nice, caring, talkative, and guiding us in the right direction. The unit they showed me was two rooms. It's got a walk-in bath and a little kitchenette. The staff was beyond great. The place was brand new and perfect. They had a walking area, which was nice, too."
