"I liked everything about The Lumiere of Chesterfield. They had a private chef who worked with the people who lived there to get on the menu what they preferred to eat according to their diet. A lot of these people are diabetics and when they go to another facility, they don't care what they eat, they just put garbage on the menu. This private chef makes a world of difference. They have high ceilings and big, spacious rooms. It's much more spacious than a lot of the facilities I've seen. It makes it feel much more luxurious and much more like home."

"The Boulevard at Wentzville seemed like a very nice place. It's clean and modern. The staff there just seemed a little aloof and reserved, but they seem confident and professional. I toured independent living. Everything seemed to be reasonable and even above reasonable with their price range. They had a general area that's for visitors. I went in person but I didn't take a tour of their amenities. The facility itself though was extremely clean and well-kept. It's within walking distance of some restaurants and things of that nature."

"I visited Brookdale Creve Coeur. One of my sister-in-law's requirements is that she has to have assistance to transfer and they will do that, where a lot of other facilities won't. My impression of the staff was good. I have a friend that lives there, and she says the staff is excellent and the food is good. I just went in and looked at the available rooms. They showed me a studio because that's all that they have available. She wants to get a one-bedroom and they might have one open in November. The rooms were spacious. They have transportation, laundry, personal care, and a dining room. They have all the amenities."

"The Villa at Riverwood is place is very nice. I was impressed with their entrance. I like the people that talked to me. The staff were helpful. It would be probably one of our choices if we decided to transfer. I really liked the place. "

"I toured the Fields of Florissant. The community is very nice. The staff and the residents there were friendly. I did not get to see a lot of the facility, just when I walked into the dining area and the recreation area. I saw two of the rooms, the studio apartment and the one-bedroom apartment. Both apartments were very nice. The bathrooms were large and spacious. I like the one-bedroom apartment for my mom. Everything there was pretty much updated. I liked that they offered a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink area inside each facility. It was a large facility, and the entire place seemed very clean. She introduced me to the activities director and said that she was very creative and always came up with different activities for them to do. It was Halloween-themed at the time, and there were activities around that."

"Kingsland Walk Senior Living was small. It was like a three-story unit. They had a lot of different amenities. As far as housekeeping, they had a big dining room downstairs on the first floor, and it had a washer and dryer at the end of each floor. They had a rec room, exercise room, just a lot of things that I really liked, but I couldn't afford it. It was out of my budget. The staff was very good and very accommodating. They had invited me to stay for lunch, but I couldn't because I had another engagement. The dining facility was really nice."

"The Rockwood is set up very nicely for independent living. There are exercise facilities, a laundry room, a sitting room, and a dining room. Most of the time, the lunch is available if you want it, but since it's an independent facility, most of the tenants eat out. The facility serves breakfast, lunch, and brunch on Sundays just in case you come back from church and want to eat. It's a really nice setting even though it's by an old railroad track. The Rockwood is an old, country-style living community, and it's quite quaint. The building has elevators, and all of the rooms are excellently done with wood trim. They have a cart inside if you need assistance getting around. The building has been updated. The people there are very kind, nice, and understanding. The rooms have nice views and outside patios. There are about three entrances, and the residents have their own parking lot. Residents can do gardening. The staff actually takes care of the patios, but if they like, the tenants can do it as well. It is a very nice setting, and it's a very nice area. "

"Friendship Village Sunset Hills was very nice, very clean, and had a lot of sunlight. The person during the tour was very good, very nice, very personable, and answered all my questions. The apartments were very nice. I looked at a two-bedroom and a one-bedroom with a den. The dining area looked very well done, very nice, and very well kept. They had a pool, an arts and crafts room, and a theater."

"The Tower Grove Manor worked out very well for my parents. They were very accommodating there. It is very spacious. They put in new carpeting/new flooring. It is definitely a very old building, but they keep it very clean. The staff are just really nice and the apartments are very large. I can't think of anything that they really haven't done. They responded well to everything. I consider it is old. The food was good and now it's not so good. It is kinda hard to judge because of COVID, it's pretty sparse, but I know they had ample oactivities, but now they don't because of it. So I don't really feel like I can judge that at this time. They have a gym, a small room that they use for the gym. They have students from Wash-U that live there and in return for free rent, they help the residents. They all go out and get food or help them running errands or get done something, like a TV issue or something there to help them, which is really nice. They were graduate students. A lot of them are getting their doctorate and things. They have a garden outback, which is a nice outdoor garden area for the dogs. There's a lot of dogs."

"I toured Wyndham Park II. They were very nice and helpful. There was not as much interaction as the other two places. It was a smaller place, so they didn't have as much staff. The staff that I did encounter were very nice. The rooms were very clean, but it was smaller than the other two. Everyone seemed very happy there."

"I am a resident of Wyndham Park III. My experience here has been very favorable. The manager is pleasant and replies to any request. The maintenance is pretty good. I'm on the first-floor accommodation and I like it. It's a secure building. You have to have key fobs to get into the building. I believe it's about 790 square-feet, so it's a good size. The neighbors are nice. I have a two-bedroom apartment with a washer and dryer and ADA accommodation. They do a couple of trips a year and you have to pay. It's an extra, but they have a bus to take you Monday through Friday to different grocery or shopping areas and that is included in the rent, so you don't have to have a car. I still have my car and a covered parking spot which is also very nice. They have a professional outside maintenance for the lawns and that's a nice feature. The rent is controlled, although the rent went up considerably in the last couple of years. They have a luncheon once a month where they provide the main course. We do have groups that play cards and mahjong. We have an exercise room that has treadmills and bicycles. I think the building is about 16 years old. They haven't maintained the interior very well. It needs some redecorating or cleaning."

"My parents are in Avalon Park. It's been an excellent facility for them and they've had a wonderful experience there. They have wonderful food and the staff has always been very accommodating. It's a great place and it's beautiful. They have live entertainment, they have activities every day, and a wide array of things."

"I visited the assisted living level of Breeze Park, which also had an Alzheimer's unit. The people there were nice, and the facilities were gorgeous. They had a bus that took the residents off-site to movies, ice cream and things like that. In the community, they had music, yoga, a pianist visiting, bingo, and pretty much everything. The apartment that I saw was a private room with its own bathroom setup like a bedroom with a sitting area for a TV, recliner, and couch. It's large enough for a queen-sized bed. They can roll the wheel chair inside the shower. There were also transfer and lift devices in the room but out of the way, so it didn't look like a medical facility."
