"My sister was there 4 years and became nonverbal the last 2 1/2 years there. Like any nursing home you have to show up. Someone was there most days at different times. She was also there during covid. Anytime I had a problem it was always addressed. No one will ever do what you would love to be able to do but I would use them again. Also my sister was not able to move freely so she was put in her wheelchair every morning then down for a nap and up again for dinner. She never had a bed sore. I looked at a lot in the area and this was the best option at the time."

"I toured Charter Senior Living of Shiloh. Everybody there looked like they were living a good life. Everybody I came in contact with seemed to be happy enough, or at least satisfied. There were a lot of people in the big TV room watching the Olympics. I went over their food menus and they looked all yummy. I couldn't see a problem with that. There were areas outside where you could go. They even had an option where I could take one of my pets with me. So, I was excited about that place. The young lady was quite knowledgeable about everything that was going on. She was able to explain everything as we walked through. They had several apartments that you could move into. They had a studio, they had a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. They all looked nice."

"The physical plan of Keystone Place at Richland Creek was really beautiful. When we looked at the way the lobby was decorated and how it was set up, we just felt like that was probably going to be the place for my sister. Then when we saw the apartment and how big and bright it was, we were right. When we came in for our tour, they had a blackboard set up right at the door with our names on it. That was nice to see. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. As we walked around and watched the other residents interacting with each other, everyone looked calm and pleasant. Nobody looked distressed or upset with anything going on. They have a lot of activities and they provide transportation to a lot of places during the week. They have a place in the basement that looks like a pub and it's got a pool table and a bar. Two afternoons a week, from 3:30 to 4:30, they serve wine and beer, but they also serve non-alcoholic drinks. The lady invited us to stay for that, but I just had things to do. They have a movie theater, a fitness center, a library, and a music room with a piano that the residents can play or occasionally have somebody come in to entertain. They have in-house PT and OT as well. These people were there all the time, so it would be much more flexible for the residents. The dining room was very pleasant and very nice. We had lunch there and the food was wonderful. There were a lot of choices and variety. They have a special every day, but if you don't want that, they have a menu that's available with lots of different choices."

"Revela at O'Fallon looked nice. It's far better than the other place. It is relatively new. The dining room has a super high ceiling. They have a wing of apartments that are two stories, and you can overlook the dining room from the top part of the apartment wing for assisted living. It feels roomy, even though it's not a very big room. On the memory care side, they have a large living dining space. The staff members have been very helpful, but it's unfortunate because I don't think it's going to be the place we choose. The food was excellent. It was great. No pets in memory care though. There was a piano in the open area in the memory care and somebody was playing while I was there. A resident talked to us and she said she loved it there. I thought it was a great place to be. The people that were there were very pleased with it."

"My mother is in Garden Place Senior Living - Millstadt Community. It's in a neighborhood rather than in a business park. It's only one level and only has 36 clients. It smells good. The staff seems to be very good and it has good food. They have regular meals and they often have ice cream socials. They have activities like Bingo, chair yoga, and mindfulness. They have celebrations for the holidays and they have a system where they give the person a dollar every time that they show up to one of thes activities. They can spend their dollars in a store there where they can buy cookies, toiletries, or different things. It's a good incentive. It seems to work for my mother to get her to attend things. They seem to be responsive to my mother's needs. They keep us informed of what's going on with her. They tend to feed the residents a lot of sandwiches and soup, but that's what they seem to like. The staff is well-trained, they're good at their jobs, and they care about the clients that they have. It's well worth the price. She's independent, and she's still able to do most everything for herself."

"My mother-in-law is in Garden Place Columbia. We chose it because it was just convenient at the time, and they had respite care. The staff have all been very accommodating. I would say the food was fine, and it was just a transition thing. She likes cooking her own food, so it would be hard to please her. I've only seen the room from the outside, and it seemed average, though it was clean, and well-kept. She's only in a studio right now. The bathrooms are also well accommodating for elderlies."

"Charter Senior Living of St. Louis Hills gave a great tour. Their building is a little older than the other facility, but it's well-maintained. They seemed to have everything in line. The rooms are nice. If you want to have dinner with your family, you can have that, and they have a dining room for that. I was impressed with them. They had two people that toured me. One of those people used to be the supervisor of another facility. Now she's a supervisor over at Charter. Charter Senior Living was fine. I had no problem about moving there, except that it was father down for me to drive every day to visit. I did not try the food, but it smelled good. I was there at 11:00 at both times with my sister-in-law and it smelled good. They were very interested in getting my wife into that group that I had a hard time telling them, "There's nothing against you guys. You guys did a great job at the tour.""

"I liked Garden Place. It was clean and didn't have any odors like most nursing homes do. The staff was very nice, and the rooms were nice and clean with two people to a room. The dining area was very nice and clean. The people were friendly. I would recommend it. "

"My mom has moved here. It's warm and welcoming. The staff was very personable and were resident-focused. They're very hospitable, willing to help, very accommodating, and willing to go out of their way to help residents. My mom has her own apartment. It's very open, and it has nice hardwood floors in the living room and the kitchen area. It also has lots of closet space, and emergency pull cords in the bedroom and the bathroom. It's very clean and they're very quick to help residents in their rooms for hanging things or that kind of thing. The dining area is very open, and I love how they have open dining. You can come down whenever you get up in the morning. If you want to have breakfast for dinner, you can have that. You can order anything off the menu at any time during the day whatever their hours are."

"Promenade Senior Living was very nice, but it was probably $1500 to $2000 more than the other place. It's a high rise. You walk in and it's beautiful, but it's dark, has an oppressive feeling, and is sterile. The staff was polite. Before I went to the other place, Promenade was my top choice. My interaction with the front desk was minimal, but the lady who did the tour was great."

"My wife doesn't see very well and The Mary Culver Home is designed only for visually impaired women, and they've been in business for 150 years, so I like it. It's a small home. It only got 27 private rooms, so she gets a lot of one-on-one attention and they're very good. They are very attentive towards her and I would highly recommend anybody if their spouse is visually impaired, because that's the one requirement to get in. I like the fact that the patient to staff ratio was like 7 to 1 and the food's good. My wife seems to enjoy the food and they do activities with them all the time. So, they try to get them involved in various activities and I'm pleased. The rooms are small, but they're all private, and they have a private bathroom in them. It's plenty and big enough to get around. I think the home was built in 1966, I believe, so it is an older home, but it's well-maintained. They have a dining area and they kind of wait on them like it's a restaurant. They'll come up there and take their order, and whatever they want, they'll cook it for them. They have exercise classes. They do tours of different countries and stuff like that. They listen to those kinds of tapes and then discuss them. The other day when I was there, they were doing Martin Luther King's history and life. So, they do something like that all the time for them."

"My husband’s sister was the one who found it. Every person there is very nice. Physically, it’s a wonderful physical building and they are providing the level of care that they need and very conveniently located for all of their children. They have all levels of care, they’re on a locked memory unit. They have a 1-bedroom apartment. "

"The tour was fine. We just walked around, and we saw the place, and everything looked nice and clean. The person who accommodated me was very informative and she knew everything. The rooms were fine. There's nothing wrong with them. Pretty much every place we toured, they all kind of looked the same. There are no activities right now due to COVID, but they're just getting back to mealtime with two people at a table. There was a little library."

"Autumn View was the perfect match for my parents...big enough to have all the needed services (like physical therapy and activities) but small enough to be easy to navigate and have a very personal feel and touch. Staff is friendly, leadership is effective. When my dad passed, there was a loving community to support my mom. As her abilities decline, there are friends, neighbors, and staff to help her get the most out of her day to day life. We are at 3+ years of very good experience and running...I highly recommend. "

"My mom is staying at Mizpah Manor. It is an assisted living facility and it is wonderful. They have the options for furnished apartment or providing your furniture. They have nice size room, with nice bathroom and nice big windows. Everything there is good. The Food is fabulous. The staff is very kind and very considerate. They treat everyone that's living there like it is the residents' home and not you living in our facility. It is a wonderful place. They have movie night every night. They have an activity person. The therapy is available at home care agency. They do medication. They have a courtyard with garden and they are allowed to have pets. I recommend them to other. "

"Home sweet home! The Villas is the perfect place for your loved one. Do you want the piece of mind knowing that someone is checking on your family member multiple times a day? Give your family the comfort of knowing your family member is safe, the Villas did this for our family. Everyone is busy these days which is why we are grateful for the staff that visits twice a day to provide medication that was often forgotten when living alone. Need therapy the therapist comes to your family member, no more coordinating rides & schedules. No one likes to cook for one or eat alone, the Villas provides balanced meals in a friendly dining room. Need your loved one to get moving….well after a walk to lunch you will find the residents making crafts, cooking classes, bingo, outings and most of all fun & laughter. The laundry & cleaning is also a blessing. We love the Villas & appreciate having the extra bedroom for storage. We are extremely grateful for the 24 hour “watch”. As my family member would say how is life at the Villas? FANTSTIC- how could it not be they for everything for you!"
