What ongoing training does the staff receive in dementia care?
All direct care employees are required to complete the specialized training developed by the federal government in the care of those with dementia. In addition, our employees receive training on newly developed dementia treatments and strategies.

Bradford Place is committed to the quality care of our area seniors. Our Residents range in age from 70 to 102 years young. Some of our favorite activities include Bingo, music and pet therapy.

Bradford Place offers an array of life enrichment activities based on the individualized preferences of our Residents.
What safety features or security measures does Bradford Place offer to assisted living residents?
At Bradford Place, safety is a priority. Our main entry/exit doors are equipped with key pad locks which allow for ease of access for our families but prohibit any unauthorized entry. All other exit doors are locked from the outside and equipped with delayed egress alarms to alert staff.
How does Bradford Place keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
We are a close community at Bradford Place. Whether it is face to face conversations, phone calls or emails; our families and staff communicate frequently. Our Director of Nursing Services and Community Director are available 24/7 to answer questions and offer support.
What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at Bradford Place during daytime and nighttime hours?
Our staffing ratios are based on resident need rather than numbers. Our Director of Nursing Services, in conjunction with Resident Assistants, develops staffing patterns to promote the health and well-being of our Residents.

Bradford Place Assisted Living is a pet-friendly community, and we encourage our residents to bring along their furry and feathered family members to their new home. There is a private courtyard and also a large outdoor area adjacent to the facility for you and your fur babies to enjoy.

Bradford Place is committed to the development of our employees. All employees receive specialized training in the care of seniors as well as the unique needs of those with conditions such as; stroke, Parkinson’s, diabetes and Dementia. CPR training is provided by our Director of Nursing Services who is an American Heart Association credentialed trainer.
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
Consistency is key when caring for those with dementia type illnesses. At Bradford we have consistent staffing in our memory care community.

Bradford Place has developed a new concept in memory care. Our unique and innovative Memory Care program is designed exclusively for those in our community suffering from dementia. This program is designed to provide an enhanced life experience beyond traditional memory care facilities. While traditional memory care programming is designed around group participation, this innovative program is designed with the individual in mind.
What techniques does Bradford Place use to support memory care residents during mealtimes?
Our specially trained staff will encourage residents to complete activities by themselves but are always standing by to help. Caregivers incorporate programs that build and help with the retention of skills and capabilities using repetition to promote engagement in these activities.

About Bradford Place
Bradford Place is a cozy and affordable independent and assisted living community located in the heart of Swansea, Illinois. Our facility has been a proud member of the Swansea community since 1999. In that length of time, Bradford Place has become a home to many residents with our staff of caregivers who are more than willing to give help when needed. Here, we are all part of one great family making the place even more welcoming.
Bradford Place is a safe and secure Independent and Assisted Living facility that features a separate Memory Care Unit that specializes in the care of individuals with memory impairment, Dementia and Alzheimer’s. We see to it that the resident’s loved ones are assured of the care, safety and assistance that our facility is capable with. Even though some of our residents prefer to keep a certain degree of independence, our caregivers are ready to assist them with tasks that are difficult to do alone. As much as possible, we will promote the full mobility and physical function of our residents while maintaining stand-by support round the clock.
The Memory Support Unit at Bradford Place is a separate and secure unit that features 8 comfortable studio apartments, each with a large bedroom and private bath. This specialized care unit is specifically dedicated to individuals with memory impairment, such as dementia and Alzheimer’s. Our staff members are specifically trained in these areas and can assist each individual to complete every day task such as grooming, medication management, dining and bathing, all of which are provided 24 hours a day on an as needed basis. Whether an individual is in the early stages of memory impairment or needs a higher level of dementia care, our staff understands the changing symptoms of memory loss and the impact these can have.
Bradford Place is pet friendly as well. Furry and feathered companions are welcome to stay with their pet owners. In addition to this, we offer a full range of services and amenities for our residents which include daily housekeeping, meals, laundry service, activities and much more.
