"I thought Bradford Place was very clean. There were no odors. The staff seemed very professional and very caring. That's basically what I liked about it. It's a little dated and that's something I would say would be the negative, but the décor there is beautiful. They haven't really done any work for me yet, but just based on their professionalism and their friendliness, everybody was courteous. Everything was nice, clean, and orderly."

"We went to Keystone Place at Richland Creek. It's very nice. Lots of activities. It's a combination of independent, assisted, and a memory care unit. The rooms are pretty spacious. The one-bedroom is large. It's like 800 square feet. So, we looked at a one-bedroom and a studio in assisted living. It's a nice place to be if you can afford it. They showed us what's available in the facility. They showed us all the common rooms, the beauty shop, the physical therapist, the nurses' station, the laundry, the activity room for assisted living, and the bar recreation area where they have happy hour twice a week. They have two different dining rooms. They have a dining room for assisted living and a dining room for independent. They have a little refrigerator and a little microwave in the apartments."

"Revela at O'Fallon looked nice. It's far better than the other place. It is relatively new. The dining room has a super high ceiling. They have a wing of apartments that are two stories, and you can overlook the dining room from the top part of the apartment wing for assisted living. It feels roomy, even though it's not a very big room. On the memory care side, they have a large living dining space. The staff members have been very helpful, but it's unfortunate because I don't think it's going to be the place we choose. The food was excellent. It was great. No pets in memory care though. There was a piano in the open area in the memory care and somebody was playing while I was there. A resident talked to us and she said she loved it there. I thought it was a great place to be. The people that were there were very pleased with it."

"We visited Reflections at Garden Place. We like the facility. It was a clean, small facility. We liked the size of the rooms. We liked the fact that everybody who was there as we walked through the facility was happy and clean. They were preparing lunch when we were there. It looked nutritious and good, and it smelled good. They did a good job, and I like the staff."

"My dad moved into St. Louis Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care in November. The facility is very clean. It's like an old hotel. It does have an outdoor area, but we haven't used it because it's been too cold. It's in the city and it has a dedicated outdoor space, but the inside facility is very nice. The staff has been very nice and very accommodating. They have movie nights and some recreational time. The dining area is very nice, and he likes their food, so far."

"It is a nice place. They have a gym where a person comes in and does physical therapy with the residents. They also have somebody that comes in and does music. My brother lives in a 1-bedroom apartment. He has someone that comes in and makes his bed (if he wants it) and washes his clothes. They keep his apartment clean. The food is excellent. He likes it and eats all of it (and I've eaten there a couple of times, too.) There is a park down the street. They can walk there wherever they want. They also have a library, a game room, and a little room with comfortable chairs to just chat with family members."

"My mother will do respite care here for the fourth time. I pretty much liked everything about it. The atmosphere as soon as I walked in the door, I just knew it felt homey. I liked the activities that they did and the interaction. She went on the tour with me and they made her feel welcome. I fell in love with the staff. While I was touring, she sat with some of the other residents and she was comfortable there. She ate all her food there. The place was very clean and it smelled clean. It was just like walking in The Hilton."

"We visited Avalon Memory Care - St. Louis. They were cautious about Covid there by taking our temperature and by doing a rapid Covid test before we went in to tour, and it was the only place that did that. They were having activities when we went in their living area. We were shown the room, which was not quite ready yet, and it was the room my mom would have had. It was a small room, but it was nice. They gave me people that I could talk to as references, and I called those people and they all had nothing but good things to say. They either have loved ones still there or had loved ones there. However, it felt dark in there to me. I was expecting it to be brighter, but the woodwork was dark and the floor was dark. The dining area was not really clean when we walked through, but that could have been because they just finished eating and they have not had a chance to clean. It just did not feel like the place for my mom. The person who did the tour did not feel as friendly, outgoing and as upbeat as those at the other facilities."

"Friendship Village Sunset Hills was a luxurious senior living facility that had all the amenities and different types of dining options. It was very large. I believe they had 300 apartments and everyone was very pleasant and a very welcoming kind of place. I know someone who lives there, so I know a lot about the amenities before I went there. They do exercises in the pool, they have a huge library, everything was bright, and the halls were wide and open. They have a lot of useful artwork on the walls, in the hallways, and the larger areas. Their entrances were very impressive and they have a lovely fireplace too. They're also willing to personalize a meal for you. If you don't want cheese or you don't want sauce on something, they offer many choices, as well as four entrees every day and they were all nice meals. They had a low-calorie meal for options and I've had some of those and they were very good."

"My father-in-law is in San Gabriel Memory Care. I like the friendly staff. The facility is clean. They have lots of activities for their residents. I just feel like it's very welcoming. When we come in, they know who we are and who our family member is that we're coming to visit. When you walk past them, they always greet you or interact with you. They're always interacting with the residents. When we're in there, they're not off on their own doing things. There's always somebody that's involved in interacting with the residents. The sink in my father-in-law's room is a little hard to work, but I also don't know if anyone has even mentioned it to them to address it. They'll have them play like Noodle Ball. They have pool noodles, and they try to hit the ball back and forth. For the women, I've seen some of them getting their fingernails painted. They have puzzles. They have entertainment come in to sing or do things like that with them. They also had a little New Year's party for the residents."

"I toured the Fields of Florissant. The community is very nice. The staff and the residents there were friendly. I did not get to see a lot of the facility, just when I walked into the dining area and the recreation area. I saw two of the rooms, the studio apartment and the one-bedroom apartment. Both apartments were very nice. The bathrooms were large and spacious. I like the one-bedroom apartment for my mom. Everything there was pretty much updated. I liked that they offered a microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink area inside each facility. It was a large facility, and the entire place seemed very clean. She introduced me to the activities director and said that she was very creative and always came up with different activities for them to do. It was Halloween-themed at the time, and there were activities around that."

"My brother has moved into Autumn View Gardens - St. Louis. It is a very well-kept facility. The staff is very pleasant. He got to know them, and they got to know him right away. He seems engaged with the other residents and he has improved almost 100% since he's been there. He is very pleased. They have activities every single day. They have a choir. They do the caroling for the residents there. They have music several times a week where someone will come in and play music for the residents. They have lots of little activities like balloon toss, dart throwing, and those kinds of little games that keep them engaged. They have dominoes, board games, and bingo almost every day. They have something called Gaelic Chronicles, which is a little trivia that goes back into maybe even the last century with some of the facts just to remind the residents of and maybe they can relate to because of their age group. They have three meals a day in the dining room. They have offerings if the resident doesn't like what is on the menu for that day. Of course, they have trained staff providing medications. They offer physical therapy for people who require it. Overall, it has been a good experience. My brother likes the food, too. The facility is very nice. And his room is recently renovated."

"I cannot express the love and care my mom and dad got from everyone at Brooking Park. The nursing staff knew their needs and took care of them always at the right time. The food has a diverse blend of all group needs, and spiced right. We had many friends for lunch or dinner, and everyone was very pleased. The entertainment was wonderful, the outings were always fun. They kept everyone very busy if they wanted to join in. I was very lucky that my parents were cared for to this high level before they passed. Please for all of you reading this, just go and see what I experienced to get the best care for your loved one. "The Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Belleville, Illinois is a beautiful place. The staff is extraordinary and I look forward to my father settling in because I'm sure that he will be taken great care of and he will have a good experience. I met Chelsea, the business office manager, and Caitlin, one of the directors of nursing, and they were both very professional, pleasant, and caring, just by seeing their interactions with other residents. I could see that they actually know the residents and that they're not just there for the job as their nurses, but to interact with them as though they had known them their whole lives. That's why I feel very confident that my father will settle in easily and will enjoy being there. The memory care rooms were excellent. They were beautiful. He is going to have a mid-sized room with his own private bathroom. The dining area, to me, looked like a five-star restaurant. They gave me a copy of their menu for September and I liked the selections that they offer. The meals looked very healthy, encompassing all the major food groups. They have a whirlpool, a library, and a movie theater too. Then there's a quiet room, where it's almost like a meditation room, because of its soft lighting and music. They have a large recreational area where I saw residents watching TV, a coffee house in which my dad would love to have since he loves my coffee, and a lot of things that he would enjoy. They even got a big popcorn machine. They also wanted to know what his hobbies are and what his favorite foods are so that just makes you feel good knowing that they're not going to treat all the people the same, but they want to know these people as individuals and treat them as such."

"We moved our father to Joe's Place Caring Cottage. It's a great place because they deal mostly with memory care issues. He has been going there for daycare so he knows them and he knows the place, so he's comfortable there. So we're very happy with how he's doing there, he's settling in nicely, and they're taking good care of him. They're great people. He's sharing a room; he doesn't have a single room. The place is great because it seems more like a home than a nursing home. It's very comfortable with family-style dinners, they've got coffee chairs in front of TVs where they can watch, they do activities, and they go on field trips when the weather is nice and everybody can get back out and do things. It's a really great place. They try to do different activities during the day, they have crafts, and last year they did chocolate-covered strawberries, and they tried to go to a barbecue restaurant for lunch. So they try to get them out when they can. This past year, they haven't done too much of that because with COVID nobody's going anywhere, but they're hoping to start and get them back up again. Sometimes, they'll just take them to a movie, or to a restaurant or park just to be able to go outside. The staff is great. From what I understand they're giving them nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, but I don't know what they eat. It's a great setup, they've got the rooms on the outside, and they have comfortable chairs and recliners in the middle, and a walking track around, and they have a craft room, and outside porch to sit on. The facility is great. It was great because they were willing to work with his budget."

"My friend moved to Addington Place of Shiloh. When we toured, the people were very caring and organized. They gave a very good tour. They explained everything, from the care involved to the financial part of it, which was very helpful. They gave us a tour of the room and explained their activities and their meals. They were just really thorough. She needs extra help like the shower, which they offer, and it was nice. The apartment was very pretty. It has high ceilings which make it lighter and brighter, and a nice big window in each room. The refrigerator is a little small but that's OK, it's fine for what her needs are. It's very spacious. The bathroom is very big, very ADA accessible, and has a nice walk-in closet. It's a lovely apartment. I've tried the food several times and it's good. My friend has no complaints and she's kind of picky. She told us the food is very good. They have a lot of activities available, but she has not participated. She did the pet therapy, which she enjoyed a lot."

"Heritage At The Colonnade is a very beautiful facility. They have a lot of amenities for the residents, like a coffee bar. I heard once that they had a professional chef that prepared their food. It's kind of an upscale nursing facility. They had activities and places for exercising. It was a lovely facility. The rooms are an average size. The facility is extremely clean. The price is probably comparable to others. I know lots of people that have stayed there, and they're all very pleased with it. The staff members were very accommodating and very nice."
