I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

If you DO NOT need assistance, and living in regular rooms, great. BUT if you need to move to memory care, I highly recommend NOT putting your loved ones there. There is not enough staff to help, night workers are the worst. Memory care residents need 24 hour care. They are REQUIRED to check on them EVERY two hours. My mother went for HOURS before someone came to check on her, almost every night. In one incident, mom fell, and tried to get up for 20 min. They never knew she fell!!! Some of the night staff are very rough, verbally and physically. Because of their lack of care, my mom fell too many times, and because she fell so many times, they TOLD us she had to move out. There was never a time when they said, your mom is going to have to move if she doesn’t stop falling. I was advised, by a WORKER , to put cameras in her room. So I do have video proof of ALL events that took place. Overall, rethink placing your loved ones in memory care at The villas of Hollybrook.

I visited this facility

We've chosen the Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Belleville, Illinois. It's a beautiful facility. It's brand new. It's been open for a year. It's actually Christian based, which I liked, and they have courtyard rooms that live out. They have one and two bedroom-rooms. They have memory care. They will take you to doctor's appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They've got plenty of food to eat. They have a snack bar. They have an alcohol bar at certain times and they have a movie room and everything else there. So it's a very nice facility. They have a refrigerator and they have a microwave and a small kitchen. There's no stove or anything in there. But they do have what they call a rec room area so they can take cooking classes and art and different things like that. So if they want to cook something, they could go in there and do that. My dad was impressed with the place. They have a courtyard, very beautifully laid out with benches and everything. They've got a fireplace out there too. They have a pool room, a shoot pool like that, billiards and that. They have nice little seating areas throughout the facility. It's kind of like a big square in the hallway.

My mom has moved into Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections. We chose this facility because of its convenience and location. They have a lot to offer too. It's clean, and we're happy with the cleanliness. The staff were very nice, I wish there were more of them. They have lots of activities, and that part is really good. They have music, bingo, jewelry making, and baking. There are little field trips, movies, little parties, happy hours, and stuff like that. They have exercises, a big patio, and big courtyards. They have three different courtyards. They had a Mother's Day brunch where they could invite guests, so that was nice. I didn't try the food, but she likes it most of the time.

I visited this facility

The Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Belleville, Illinois is a beautiful place. The staff is extraordinary and I look forward to my father settling in because I'm sure that he will be taken great care of and he will have a good experience. I met Chelsea, the business office manager, and Caitlin, one of the directors of nursing, and they were both very professional, pleasant, and caring, just by seeing their interactions with other residents. I could see that they actually know the residents and that they're not just there for the job as their nurses, but to interact with them as though they had known them their whole lives. That's why I feel very confident that my father will settle in easily and will enjoy being there. The memory care rooms were excellent. They were beautiful. He is going to have a mid-sized room with his own private bathroom. The dining area, to me, looked like a five-star restaurant. They gave me a copy of their menu for September and I liked the selections that they offer. The meals looked very healthy, encompassing all the major food groups. They have a whirlpool, a library, and a movie theater too. Then there's a quiet room, where it's almost like a meditation room, because of its soft lighting and music. They have a large recreational area where I saw residents watching TV, a coffee house in which my dad would love to have since he loves my coffee, and a lot of things that he would enjoy. They even got a big popcorn machine. They also wanted to know what his hobbies are and what his favorite foods are so that just makes you feel good knowing that they're not going to treat all the people the same, but they want to know these people as individuals and treat them as such.
