We are thrilled with the Executive Director, who is organized. professional and easy talk with. She is good with employees and always smiling. The staff is wonderful ..from Maintenance to Housekeeping, Medicine and Caregiving. We adore the MC Director, Tanika, and all the Care, devotion and long hours she puts in caring for my mom and all the residents. She and her staff are the best we have had in all our tenure here and we feel extremely blessed that mom is safe, clean and cared for in every way. These wonderful people are like family to us."

"The Rockwood is set up very nicely for independent living. There are exercise facilities, a laundry room, a sitting room, and a dining room. Most of the time, the lunch is available if you want it, but since it's an independent facility, most of the tenants eat out. The facility serves breakfast, lunch, and brunch on Sundays just in case you come back from church and want to eat. It's a really nice setting even though it's by an old railroad track. The Rockwood is an old, country-style living community, and it's quite quaint. The building has elevators, and all of the rooms are excellently done with wood trim. They have a cart inside if you need assistance getting around. The building has been updated. The people there are very kind, nice, and understanding. The rooms have nice views and outside patios. There are about three entrances, and the residents have their own parking lot. Residents can do gardening. The staff actually takes care of the patios, but if they like, the tenants can do it as well. It is a very nice setting, and it's a very nice area. "

"Friendship Village Sunset Hills was too expensive for me. If I had the money, I would stay there. They were friendly. The real estate lady was upfront with me. They were very nice. The place was clean. They offered good things."

"Garden Place Senior Living - Red Bud was very nice. The rooms were private with a private bath, and everything was very clean. They had a common area where residents gathered for activities."

"I toured Fields of Florissant. I liked the little villas. They were perfect, with a little attached garage. The staff who assisted with the tour were very professional and concerned. She was excellent. I don't have any complaints. The little villas were something that I would really like. It was just too expensive. I think it was like $3,000 a month, and that was a little more than what I wanted to pay. The size of the rooms was nice, and the layout was beautiful. It's private. You had everything that you needed right there."

"I've been with Grand Manor for almost four years now. The best part here was the price. It is not really for profit. 22 years ago, a nice gentleman built this place and we have a really good lady working here and taking good care of us. It's a good facility. Everything's good here and I recommend this place. They do free meal services. If you don't want to come out or you just don't want to be social or in any way and you don't want to go downstairs to have a meal, they are free to deliver three meals to you. Other places probably do not have this kind of service. Inside, each floor has two laundry rooms. It's a three-floor building. It's beautiful inside and outside. There's a garden outside and a sidewalk along the building for independent people. They got one bedroom, two bedrooms, and a studio. They have a pretty decent price because you are talking about three meals a day, free utility, and free water and we have a cleaning lady once a week. I checked all the places and no other place is like this. Everybody worked hard. They got COVID on, and nobody quit. Everybody took good care of us. The food is excellent. I am from Taiwan, so I don't care about American food, but if you love desserts, this is heaven. Every day, every meal, they got a different dessert. They also have something for diabetic people so food is again excellent. The activities are pretty good. Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have free doctor visits. Once a month, they do a casino trip. Also, some go to the pub for music concerts. It's pretty good. They give you a nice choice."

"I moved to Regency Manor. I love everything, and there's nothing that I don't like. The staff is great. We have bingo, singing, cards, and games. It's all great, and everything's fabulous. Everything is just great, so you couldn't ask for anything better."

"My aunt lives at The Apartment Community of Our Lady of the Snows. I like it. To me, it's ideal. Her apartment is big and everything is very nice and clean. One thing that this place has that a lot of the other ones don't have is that their walk areas between places are 20 feet wide. They're gigantic hallways, so it never feels crowded. The other thing is you never have to go outside. There are enough walking places inside, and there are all kinds of wooded walkways and paths. It is isolated out in the country, but it is very close to town. It definitely is a country atmosphere. The grounds look great, and the place is immaculate. The staff is cleaning the place very well."

"I visited the independent living community of The Colonnade Senior Living in O'Fallon, and I have selected it for myself. It just seemed like it had a more home-like atmosphere, and the people just seemed so much friendlier and nicer, both the staff and the people who live there. I talked to several of the people who lived there for a while, and they think it's really a good place. Several of my friends had been there earlier and liked it, too. I don't need assisted living or anything, because I can live independently, but I need a little bit of help with things like housekeeping and laundry, and they provide all that plus more. It's an older facility, but it's well-maintained. I didn't see anything in it that I thought was shoddy, the way it was taken care of. I got a 2-room suite for myself. It has a huge walk-in closet and a very tiny little kitchen, but one that gives me plenty of room for what I need. It's 650 square feet, I believe. From what experience I've had with the staff members, they've been very helpful and very nice. I've also had two meals there, and they were both very good. I was more than happy with what they had, plus the menu looked very good, too. You can take what they have as a prepared special for the day, or you can go and order off the menu. During my visit, I had a special at lunchtime and ordered off the menu for the evening. Both the service and food were good."

"Knollwood Retirement Center was the one I would prefer just because it's close to my house. It's also newer and bigger, and they are opening memory care. They don't have it ready yet. The staff during the tour was good. It's very well-kept. Everything was clean. It's pretty new. They take them out for shopping days. They have things to do. There's a pool table, card games, and events every night. I saw the wing that they were turning into memory care. We're kind of on this waiting list for them to get it finished. They're the only place that accepts Medicaid."

"Cedars of Lebanon is very nice and very clean. It has exercise equipment, which I am looking forward to. It has an outdoor patio, a nice big sitting room, and a big TV. I'll be able to fix my meals in my own home. I'm very pleased with it. It's a high-rise apartment. They have two bedrooms. No balconies. Everybody has their own air conditioner and heating system. Some units have walk-in showers for the handicapped. They have a calendar full of all activities. They have arts, bingo, church services, and outings. If you don't have a car, they take you on a bus. The facilities were simply fine. The laundry rooms are okay, and everything is fine. They have elevators, which are nice, too."

"I moved into Woodland Towers. The people are very friendly. We have individual one-bedroom apartments. The upkeep is very good. We've got a patio in the back of the apartment, and it overlooks a pond. It's nice and comfortable out there. They've got flowers out there and seats where you can sit out and relax. The manager is nice. The maintenance keeps the facility clean. We have a senior bus that will take you anywhere in Collinsville, and it doesn't cost the seniors. They don't prepare food here. We have our own kitchen, and we cook our own meals. We have bingo twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Anybody can join. Every other Wednesday, a lady comes in and we do ceramics. It's a nice place to live. There's a park right across the street, a grocery store on one corner, and pharmacies on one corner and across the street, so shopping is close."
