"My mom was at Garden Place Columbia for a couple of months. I liked it because it was bright and cheery. They had a lot of activity. My mom was in assisted living, and she did fall, but they did notify me right away. So there's nothing that I feel bad about there. I think that they did a good job. The facility was very clean. I would sit with my mom, and the food looked good. The food was cooked nicely. My mom enjoyed it. She said she liked it. Her apartment was nice. It was a small apartment. It was clean and neat. We had to furnish it ourselves, but that's okay."

"The facility is immaculate and well maintained. The staff is very courteous and attentive to personalize needs. My mother has lived there for over a decade and she loves it there. We value the communication between the management and staff. I would recommend this facility as a crown jewel of Monroe County."

"The staff here was very, very nice. The atmosphere was very warm and very inviting, but the apartments were not complete apartments. They didn't have stoves, for instance. I was looking for a more complete apartment living situation. Their dining area was very nice. I saw a group of residents doing a painting activity. They looked very happy and content, including the people that I passed on the hall. I didn't like it because I didn't care fo the neighborhood. I wouldn't have been comfortable in that neighborhood. At my age, I'm less interested at hanging out in the Loop or being close to it than I was years ago. The facility itself is new, so it's very clean and nice."

"The Rockwood was a very old building that had a lot of charm. However, the sinks didn’t have any cabinets, small storage in the bathrooms, and small closets. They had vans that take you places and on outings. "

"The tour was fine. We just walked around, and we saw the place, and everything looked nice and clean. The person who accommodated me was very informative and she knew everything. The rooms were fine. There's nothing wrong with them. Pretty much every place we toured, they all kind of looked the same. There are no activities right now due to COVID, but they're just getting back to mealtime with two people at a table. There was a little library."

"Garden Place Senior Living - Red Bud was very nice. The rooms were private with a private bath, and everything was very clean. They had a common area where residents gathered for activities."

"Friendship Village Sunset Hills was a very friendly place. They had many options available, and it was continuous care throughout the rest of your life. The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds were nice and the location was fine. The apartments were adequate. The food was good."

"My mother has been here since April 1, 2016. I'm 5 mi away and know most all that's happening. I could not be more satisfied with Mothers care. The staff and administration are kind, caring and easy to talk with. I would give them an excellent rating in all categories. "

"My aunt picked The Colonnade. The people are very friendly people. The facility has occupational and physical therapy on-site for her. She doesn't have to sit at the same table every time for meals; she can sit wherever she wants. She orders off of a menu. There's no set meal for the day. The nursing staff for her floor is just two doors down from where she is. The staff is very friendly. They say hello to people as they're walking down the hall. If somebody has a question, they're more than happy to stop and answer it. They've answered all of our questions when we've asked them, so I have no problems. I am very pleased with things. They have transportation to take the residents wherever they need to go. "

"My mom really liked Regency Manor. There was not any pressure added to get her there in a hurry. It was very nice, very clean, and the staff was very friendly. They got us a free lunch, and it was very good. They actually had a special going on until the end of summer or spring. It was like $1,400 or $1,500 a month, and my mom got to choose where she wanted to live. We saw two different types of rooms that were available. It was either downstairs or upstairs. Mom wanted a room with a view or trees in front of her window. The accommodations went really well. If we decide to put her in an independent living that would be the place we will choose. It felt homey there."

"Grand Manor was wonderful. The lunch we had was delicious, and we had a lot of fun playing Scrabble. The people were very engaging, and the staff was very friendly. They have exercise and art classes, writing a book class, fun things, and lots of entertainment. The people are very happy. They have an exercise room, libraries, lots of places to read books, chess, and puzzles in the hallway. They have something to do all the time. The place is decorated in the cutest way. My friend is in a studio. They also have a deluxe that has one bedroom and a balcony."

"Cedars of Lebanon is very nice and very clean. It has exercise equipment, which I am looking forward to. It has an outdoor patio, a nice big sitting room, and a big TV. I'll be able to fix my meals in my own home. I'm very pleased with it. It's a high-rise apartment. They have two bedrooms. No balconies. Everybody has their own air conditioner and heating system. Some units have walk-in showers for the handicapped. They have a calendar full of all activities. They have arts, bingo, church services, and outings. If you don't have a car, they take you on a bus. The facilities were simply fine. The laundry rooms are okay, and everything is fine. They have elevators, which are nice, too."

"I toured Knollwood Retirement Center. It was a very nice community. It seemed like some of the residents did like lingering out in a little entrance area, and just wandered around a little bit more than what my mom would be comfortable with, but other than that it was a very nice place. Everything was nice. The gentleman who gave me the tour was very kind. He's very busy because they seem to be a little understaffed. I went out there, we had an appointment, and he forgot the first day because he got help with something, but then the next time I went out there, he showed me around and everything. They do have meals and stuff. They have a game night. I believe they have a cocktail hour in the evening. They just showed me the rooms, how they're furnished, and everything."

"I moved into Woodland Towers. The people are very friendly. We have individual one-bedroom apartments. The upkeep is very good. We've got a patio in the back of the apartment, and it overlooks a pond. It's nice and comfortable out there. They've got flowers out there and seats where you can sit out and relax. The manager is nice. The maintenance keeps the facility clean. We have a senior bus that will take you anywhere in Collinsville, and it doesn't cost the seniors. They don't prepare food here. We have our own kitchen, and we cook our own meals. We have bingo twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Anybody can join. Every other Wednesday, a lady comes in and we do ceramics. It's a nice place to live. There's a park right across the street, a grocery store on one corner, and pharmacies on one corner and across the street, so shopping is close."
