"We were delighted to visit the Bristol Manor of Jefferson City while in the vicinity "“ visiting assisted living facilities in the area for our uncle. Our tour of the outside grounds was lovely; there were flowers and shrubs everywhere, with nice seating areas. The staff was very friendly and all seemed to really like their jobs. We liked that the business has been family run "“ in fact, there were family there on the premises working. The main living areas were fresh, clean and sunny with a contemporary, yet homey décor. The outside area is ample, with plenty of seating areas to enjoy. Our uncle really likes living next to a part, so this will make him very happy. The variety of activities offered was impressive. Just about any hobby you might have can be accommodated "“ and more. The staff goes out of its way to suggest stimulating things to do "“ from gardening, to reading, playing games and outings in the community. We had lunch while there which was really delicious. We ordered form a menu as the residents would "“ so we were really impressed with the selections. The rooms we viewed were all very clean, well-kept and inviting "“ kind of resembling what you might find at a hotel that rents out small apartments "“ but a bit more personal. Our uncle loves to use gym equipment, so we liked that the exercise room was large and had a variety of options to choose from. The library had a large book selection "“ much of which was loaned from the local library. Our uncle would really appreciate this. Overall, the facility really looked like a place our uncle would like to live in. We didn't see anything missing "“ it just looked like it was all right there! We especially liked that they do not require a long term commitment "“ since we are unsure about our uncle's needs at this point. This kind of flexibility is important to us, and many facilities require a lease to secure a spot. Also, this would give us a chance to try it out to see how it works for our uncle. This makes us feel good about putting Bristol Manor at the top of our list. "

"Ashbury Heights is great. I have no complaints. The staff is great and very helpful. They feed them three times a day. They distribute my father's medication and they will drive him if he needs to go somewhere, like his doctors' appointment. They refer him to places, like if he needs glasses. It's very clean. We walked around and examined the place, and everything was great. They have activity rooms. I highly recommend it. It's a small group and they have different nationalities."

"My mother-in-law has moved into Tipton Oak Manor. They are attentive. They ensure that we are kept abreast of everything that is happening. They keep us informed. There is a garden patio and a hairdresser/barber. They have activities and religious services. It is an older facility, but it is very clean. The best thing for me would be the staff. My mother-in-law can be somewhat difficult at times, and I feel that they have dealt with that in a compassionate way."

"Checking my mom out today. She stayed at oak tree for 9 months following her stroke. It's sad to leave but because of the amazing care she received, she's able to move back home!!!! Great staff!! Great facility!!!! I'm so glad I chose oak tree to take care of mom! No place better."

"Lake Parke Senior Living was a very nice facility. The lady I met was very interesting and very informative. They had a lot of amenities, activities, and places for the seniors. It was a little bigger place, about 30 plus residents. She mentioned that they had a larger staff too. The rooms were nice, as well as the atmosphere. It was very quiet, as it should be, and all the staff was working. Some were doing laundry and some were cleaning. The dining area was also nice. Everything was very clean. The only reason my mom's not there is they were full occupancy at that time."

"My daughter moved to Bristol Manor of Camdenton. We had to choose one that her Medicare and Medicaid would cover; the price is a big thing. The family has not been able to go in because of the COVID. I think it's gonna be good for her. It's an old facility but she would like to be able to go walking and stuff whenever COVID is over. Right now, she's been locked up for a year, so we have not been able to go in, see her room or anything for a year, because of the COVID. Everything is totally different now than it used to be. It's got a wooden deck, trees, and it looks more like a home than a facility. It's OK on the outside. The manager seems really friendly. They have a living room. They do their laundry. We like the people. The person who is running it is very friendly."

"Heisinger Bluffs covers all three: a retirement home, assisted living, and nursing home. They're like apartments, they have their own stove, microwave, and a shared laundry. There's always somebody coming in. I have a friend who plays the guitar and drums with his buddies, they have bingo, and social things going on. They have a beauty salon, a book exchange, and a puzzle exchange. The food is far superior than the other place. The staff is the greatest, they really care for the residents, for those that don't need assistance, they still check on a regular basis, and they call them by name, whichever the resident prefers. I will end up there some day I'm sure."
