My mother-in-law has moved into Tipton Oak Manor. They are attentive. They ensure that we are kept abreast of everything that is happening. They keep us informed. There is a garden patio and a hairdresser/barber. They have activities and religious services. It is an older facility, but it is very clean. The best thing for me would be the staff. My mother-in-law can be somewhat difficult at times, and I feel that they have dealt with that in a compassionate way.

When deciding to place our Mother in a nursing home, we where happy with the fact that she had already used Tipton Oak Manor for Outpatient Therapy. The staff there knew her and welcomed her into their home. The dining room is restaurant style with a variety of wonderful meals available. There is on-site beauty shop and therapy with many different activities for her to choose from. Outings are scheduled and outside performers come to entertain. We all are happy with her new living arrangement, where she is in a clean, safe environment with caring staff to see to her. We can take her out also. So she has more social opportunities than when alone at home. So glad to have our local home.

There's no place like home, but if you need a place Tipton Oak Manor is as close second. We needed a short term placement for my Mother after her hospitalization, for rehabilitation. She made many new friends and was in town so her other friends could visit her. The staff was wonderful, nursing worked with therapy and they helped my Mother to regain her independence. She now continues to maintain her health with outpatient therapy there at the Manor. She visits, does therapy, has lunch with her new friends and heads home. It's a wonderful routine.

The facility is clean. The staff is friendly but overworked. They do not have enough staff to care for all the patients. Had to hunt aids down to get help for my mom. The food is too spicy for the elderly and does not look very appetizing. Overall, it was a nice place.

The facility is clean, and the staff are always friendly and accomodating when I visit. However, they do rely heavily on family member observation and feedback about the patients to make medical decisions for my father. For example, if we notice he is worsening, we must bring it to there attention before action is taken. I realize family feedback is important, since we know my father best. But, I would like for them to use their own observations more, since they see him on a daily basis and we don't. Also there is a lack of activities in the Alzheimers unit. It's good for Alzheimers patients to have a structured environment that keeps them busy and engaged. I would like to see more of that at the facility. Overall, the facility does provide the most important aspects that we looked for. They are clean, the staff is friendly and accomodating, and he is in a safe environment where all of his basic needs are met. He seems to be happy, which of course is the most important thing.
