I have a relative at Rock Island Village. The building is clean, the staff is friendly, the food is great, and the care my loved one gets is exactly what we needed at this point in our life. It is nice knowing we can leave the facility and not worry about anything. Highly recommend Rock Island Village for your loved one, it was the best move we made!
What you can do with Caring
About Rock Island Village in Eldon, Missouri
We all know our loved ones well: their likes and dislikes, their favorite recipes, and their sports teams. And we can tell when theyre just not themselves anymore due to age-related or physical problems.
One of the joys of walking with a loved one as they age is seeing them reach their goals and have the time to invest in friends, family, and the hobbies and interests they care about most. But when the physical and emotional challenges of aging begin to take away from the joys of life, and home becomes an inhospitable place, a caring assisted living community like Rock Island Village may be the ideal next step.
Seniors who participate in sustained, creative mental challenges like photography, or quilting showed improvements to an aging mind. Memory Care is available for those with dementia or Alzheimers to address their unique and specific needs, often far more than can be achieved in the home.
There are over 100 forms of dementia or the loss of memory. Whatever the reason, the issues of care for these individuals are similar. A person suffering from some types of memory loss will face a narrowing path and a deterioration of ones lifestyle and the connections they cherish with friends and family. Memory Care communities like the one at Rock Island Village are specifically designed to enhance the well-being of these special people.
Breakthroughs and improvements in medicine can add years to our lives, but not always quality. Memory loss is the fastest-growing category of challenges that seniors face today. Rock Island Village Memory Care is ready with the latest techniques to help our residents.

My mom moved into Rock Island Village. I like the quality of care. There probably isn't anything about that place that I wouldn't rate. They have everything. Everything is home-cooked. They have daily activities. They have bingo, field trips, and live entertainment. Their facility is brand new. They have an in-house beauty salon and in-house physical therapy.

I took a tour of Rock Island Village for my mom, and I actually loved it. I loved the property, it is in the middle of town, and it's converted from a factory into a living facility, but it's really nice inside. It's all contained, and the apartments are nice, and spacious. They have anywhere from a studio to a two-bedroom apartment. They also have a memory care there, so if you have a senior mom or dad, or someone that needs to go into memory care eventually, that's right there on the property. They allow pets, and my mom smokes, so they allow smoking outside as well. There's not any green space in the facility. I know they have a beauty shop, and they have activities.

My brother has been in Rock Island Village for about four weeks now. It is very clean and very tidy. The medical people, the nurses, and the housekeeping staff are all nice. I checked the kitchen; it was good, and they had a good variety of meals. I also checked the activities, and they were good. The only problem is because of COVID they can't leave, so I can't vouch for their transportation. They sent me a calendar of activities. They watch a video where you go to London, England, or wherever. They have virtual tours like that every week, and they have bingo, crafts, games, and Bible studies. The liaison between the family and the residents is nice and informative. The facility itself is really nice and new; it's about three years old. They have an accessible courtyard in the center, and even during COVID, they could go there, and I like all that. The value is good.

We've chosen Rock Island Village for my brother-in-law. He has been there for three months now, and he seems to like it. He's got a nice little apartment, it's pretty good sized, it has a nice layout, it's got a large bathroom, and it's pretty well-furnished. They take care of him, but all he pretty much does is watch TV. They're pretty good, and if there's any concern, they'll call right away to let you know what's going on, what he's doing, and how he's doing. It's only 2 miles from us, so we can see him pretty regularly. They have a couple of outdoor areas where people can go out and sit. They're fenced in for those with memory problems, so they don't take off without anybody knowing it. They have a big rec area and a big library.
