My Parents paid a lot of money as an entrance fee and I have bee trying to get the money back for three months. Green tree health care management will not answer phone calls or return voice messages. I would avoid this place.

The new ownership has really changed this facility. It created an amazing culture among the staff which of course spreads to the residents. My dad can not stop signing the praises of this facility. He went in for Assisted Living but soon after needed more care and transitioned to the Nursing Facility. They take such good care of him!

I have visited this facility for many, many years as a volunteer and friend. I am shocked by the decline in housekeeping. The downstairs elevator and bathroom next to it were not clean each week I visited. Clutter and newspapers were stacked around the Rehab dining area. I called and left a phone message for the supervisor (whose name was given to me by the receptionist) telling her these things, but never got a response. I realize that it's hard to find enough help everywhere, but this seems to have happened since the facility has changed hands. Perhaps higher wages would alleviate this problem.

Heisinger Bluffs covers all three: a retirement home, assisted living, and nursing home. They're like apartments, they have their own stove, microwave, and a shared laundry. There's always somebody coming in. I have a friend who plays the guitar and drums with his buddies, they have bingo, and social things going on. They have a beauty salon, a book exchange, and a puzzle exchange. The food is far superior than the other place. The staff is the greatest, they really care for the residents, for those that don't need assistance, they still check on a regular basis, and they call them by name, whichever the resident prefers. I will end up there some day I'm sure.

As a local elder law attorney, I visit a lot of long-term care facilities throughout the State of Missouri. Heisinger Bluffs is a gem. Their facility is very clean and the residents appeared very happy and engaged in their community rather than congregated around the nurse's station like I see at so many facilities. I have also had the pleasure of eating there and the food is wonderful. There are so many little things that distinguish Heisinger Bluffs from the rest of the pack. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a top-notch long-term care environment.
