The Program In addition to comprehensive nursing services, Autumn Court provides activities and rehabilitation services designed to meet the needs of individuals with short attention spans and increased needs for supervision. Autumn Court clients are involved in specialized unit activities which include small group activities, music therapy, supervised outdoor activities, and enhanced one-on-one interactions. Autumn Court provides a home-like environment with a sense of community and a more flexible schedule than usually found in a controlled living environment. Life in Autumn Court centers around a living / dining / activity area. Residents of Autumn Court are given additional opportunities to walk about freely, both inside and outside, weather permitting. A secure yard area is located directly off the unit with attendant supervision. Staff, residents, and families of the unit will have frequent opportunities for education and training related to the management and learning needs of the unit. The staff members of Autumn Court are individually selected and trained for their skill in providing care to residents on the unit. Ongoing continuing education is an integral part of the special needs unit staff process. Volunteers and family members are encouraged to contribute to the success of the unit by donating their time and sharing their talents with the residents. "My sister-in-law is happy down at the Lawrence County Manor. She has to have help with some things. It's OK, but they've been in quarantine since she got put there. I haven't seen her per se, except through the window. The staff is very caring, and they seem to be doing a great job. It's back on a dead-end road, and back a little bit off of the main drag. I don't really know that much about it, but it seems nice out there. The price is about the same as any of the others that I've seen."

"I went to Ozarks Methodist Manor yesterday. The social worker was able to set up a tour for us. They were amazing. Everybody was super nice. They had the facilities, and the room was perfect. Everything was just really great there. They have all the steps of care there. They have assisted living, independent living, and the other one when you're not able to care for yourself, and stuff like that. They showed us the dining room, too. They have Walmart trips every week. They have a laundry area. They also provide a service where you pay an extra fee per month, and they can do the laundry for you, which is convenient for my friend because he doesn't do his laundry. They provide housekeeping and meals, too. The other place we looked at was $3000, and this place was $3500, so they're only $500 more, but you're getting way more amenities. Everybody seems nice. They have activities all the time. The guys get together every morning, and the women get together, too. It was just really, really nice. I think they have a great thing going. This year is their hundredth year that they've been in business. Everything seems pretty clean. We did not try the food, but the staff said we were more than welcome to come for lunch or something today if we wanted to."

"I toured Gran Villas Neosho for my dad. The rooms were bigger than the ones we saw in another community. The beds were bigger, too, and they had a kitchenette in the room should he decide to make something. I like the staff. They were very helpful and very caring. One of the things I didn't like about it, though, was that it seemed older than some of the other ones. It wouldn't hurt to update a bit. They offer three meals a day, snacks, and transportation. They assist with baths, medications, and pretty much help the residents do everything they need. They had a lot of activities like Bingo, church on Sundays, and just different things like that. The staff is very welcoming and very informative. They took us on a tour and showed us all around. They showed us a vacant room and what they would look like should he decide to move in. They also answered a lot of questions."

"My mother is already settled in St Luke's Nursing Center. The lady that was the head of it, was why I kind of decided to put my mother in there because she seemed caring and earnest. They have church two or three times a week and bingo. And then they have all kinds of activities. I think they even hold meetings to see the residents there voice their complaints, or their compliments, or whatever you want to say. They have parties and do lots of crafts, and they do exercise, there's a physical therapy place where she goes and does physical therapy every day, which has made her stronger. They keep them actively involved. My mother said the food is good. It's an older place, but they do keep it renovated and cleaned up. There are a few little things that I'm not happy about, they say, they wash her sheets like for me every week and they don't, so I just take them down there and wash them and, so I got a little complaint there, and I think they could probably go in there and keep her apartment a little cleaner. Because sometimes I'll go in there and I'll mess with it myself. So on that part of it, I'm just not happy with it."

"Bristol Manor was not very caring and tended to be neglectful. They did not have enough staff on hand which resulted in residents becoming ill. We had to move my grandmother out of there and into a better facility. The residents were friendly and got a long well but that did not make up for the quality y of living. The manor's home is located right off a major highway and gets a lot of traffic. There are developments springing up around the manor and there is not very much space for the residents to move around. The owners of the facility try their best to take care of the residents but they are under staffed and have trouble providing adequate care. With our case the staff might have taken advantage of our grandmother while she was sick and taken belongings from her but that is just speculation. I would not want anyone's grandparent or relative to stay in this place. "

"We have placed my mom into a nursing home called Sonshine Manor. She likes it. She's happy there. It's clean. They're friendly. They're good to her. My mom's room has a standard-sized bathroom and a shower. It has closets, a bed, and lots of shelves, so she can put pictures and things. The room is clean. It's just an ordinary room though. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. My mom likes the food. They have things for them to do, but my mom is just starting to participate in things. With regards to value for money, it's just average compared to everybody else."
