"Wayman Place was very clean. The rooms were all private, and they were nicely sized for one person. They fit whatever we thought my brother needed. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable, and they answered all my questions. We didn't see any activities when we were there because it was lunchtime, so they were all having their lunch."

"All the facilities we visited have been excellent, but Cornerstone was the one that was within my insurance budget. This place was built quite a few years ago so it's the oldest facility in the area. All the others were new and all but their prices were beyond my insurance and I just couldn't afford that. Also a friend of ours had used this place for their folks and they recommended it. The manager there is very dedicated. She would go in a couple of times a week on her own on hours that the staff don't know that she's coming just to see how they're doing. She was a very nice lady and she even has her mother there as a patient. Their rooms were nice and adequate. They're also well-kept. However, you have to furnish your own room for yourselves but it's the same in all the other facilities. "

"Horizon Bay Lake Orienta is a very clean facility, and even if it was located in a busier street, it was still relatively quiet. The place is beautiful, and the people are nice. The inside of the facility is very nice too. It’s a wonderful facility. "

"I really liked Grand Villa, and it was really nice, but the price was out of my parents’ budget. They had gorgeous apartments with a nice little living room, small dining area, and bedroom. It was definitely the place where I would want my parents to go if they could afford it. The staff was very helpful, nice, and understanding. They deliver the meals to the room, and the menu looked good but somewhat limited; there were still nice options, though. "

"The Grove at Trelago was nice and the food was good, but the apartments were too small. It's terrific, the ambience, the amenities, the swimming pool, the gardens, and the food. The only thing was that the apartments were too small for us. For other people, they may be OK. They have card rooms and a movie theater. The library was very small and inadequate."

"I visited Cascade Heights. It's a very nice facility. It seemed like lots of meaningful activities. Those were the upsides and I didn't have a downside, to be honest with you. The staff that I met was great, super friendly, and knowledgeable. I thought the rooms were very nice, newly updated, and pretty large. It had a lot of different options as far as single bedroom or double bedroom. The dining area was nice, clean, and modern. It seemed like a kind of a cruise ship vibe. They had a barbershop and a gym. They had a common area with a piano and some activities like that."

"Gentry Park Orlando's staff was very attentive and professional. They just didn't have as many activities for the residents and they were a little less engaging. The food was definitely not that great at all and they really need to do something about the food. There weren't any choices, and you had to eat whatever they put in front of you. The cost of the medication was also a bit higher. The corridor always had a foul order, as well as in my dad's room. It was also only cleaned once a week, so that didn't make it very desirable. I went there once a month for an entire year and it always smelled like that. Overall, despite those things, the facility itself is beautiful."

"I lived here. I had a really nice room amd it was one of the better rooms. I loved the people there, they were super. The activities were about the same as everywhere else. I had such a good experience there. My husband was also there until he passed away, but it wasn't because of lack of attention. You wouldn't believe how quick the staff members are. The food there is good, they have a chef who works very hard, and he keeps his food up-to-date. They go above and beyond to make sure that their food is competition-ready. They have crafts and they have people come in like entertainers and piano players. The staff or personnel there do everything they can to make sure you're comfortable and happy."

"We went to Ambiance of Maitland. It was very nice. The staff members were just very friendly and accommodating. They answered all my questions, so they were very nice. The rooms were very nice. They were recently updated, so everything was nice, clean, and very orderly."

"We visited Brookdale Lake Mary for my dad. The room was large and more reasonably priced. It was very nice with wide hallways and communal dining area. All in all, it was very nice. They appeared to cater to the residents, who were very happy. "

"I toured Brookdale Conway. The individual who gave me the tour was helpful, answered my questions, showed me three different rooms, and let me into the memory care unit. I asked him what the average age of people was in memory care, and he told me 82. I don't think he was being upfront with me about that because most of them seemed closer to 90 to 92. They had a courtyard outside the building accessible to memory care and assisted living. It's kind of on the inside of the square. The biggest concern for people, as well as myself, is the price. They get very hesitant when you want to get an idea of what it's going to cost. They tell you the level of care based on what the doctor says and what their assessment says, but they won't tell you what those levels of care consist of or what they cost until they do the assessment. She would need a minimal level of care. She is capable of getting herself up, getting dressed, making meals, and taking her meds. I don't want to put her with people 20 years older than the average age in there. Her memory is shut, but she still has her head on her shoulders. A few times that I had her in these places, her attitude was "Everyone there is so old.""

"We like Bridgeport Senior Living-Port Cardiff Llc because it's an actual home environment and they've got a couple of caregivers for every three people. They're making sure mom gets up and gets out into the living room with everybody else or out of the kitchen when they're eating and stuff. They keep it very spotless there and it's just a pretty home. The outdoors is very beautiful. It's very pretty going there, on the front side and the back side. It's been too hot to sit out on the porch right now, but they've got pretty birds back there. The landscape is very pretty. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. Amanda oversees the home and recently we had to have a mobile dental service come in and she tries to make sure she's there or is aware of what's going on. When I can't be there, I know that she tries to be there for those extra services. She had to have an in-house X-ray done and I happened to be there when they were doing that. They're very nice and very sweet people. We just moved mom from one side of the room to the other side and they went ahead and did that for us. They made sure that her bed was moved over and everything was moved over for her. They have bathrooms where they give them showers, a nice living room, and several reclining chairs so that the residents can sit in a nice chair while they're in the living room. It's like your normal house so it doesn't feel like you're in a hospital or something. I know they have a menu that they try to go by, but if they don't like the food, they try to accommodate what they like. I know they have served her oatmeal for breakfast, for instance, because they know she likes oatmeal. They have activities for them to get involved with, which is nice. They bring in people and Amanda has sent me pictures of my mom doing some of the activities. The price we pay is up there with the other bigger facilities, probably about the same, but she's getting more attention and they get to know each other in the home because it's on a smaller scale."

"I like the community of Brookdale Altamonte Springs. The personnel were very courteous and the salesperson was very informative. It seemed like an ideal place for my sister. The rooms were nice, clean, very warm, very comfortable, and so homely. It's a nice facility. I was very pleased with it. They informed me about their sample menu, what they serve for different meals, and the time and then the activities that they offer, and the services. I was also very pleased with that. The salesperson was very thorough with the information he provided. I wouldn't mind being there myself. That seems like an ideal community."
