My ex-husband was at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. He stayed there for respite care. I had him there for one week in August and then a week in September. I was really happy with them. But the second time he was there didn't work out too well because he had to share the apartment with somebody else. The bathroom was shared, and my ex-husband got more confused while trying to find his designated room. Apparently, he wasn't too good then. He got up and wandered. So what I needed was more of a memory unit for him. Nevertheless, they make you feel like you're part of a family. The building was very clean. They had activities. They had some volleyball going on and all sorts of different activities for them. They have an outdoor space. They have a little golf course for them to do stuff. I saw a screened-in lanai for them. It was a nice place. It looked almost like an apartment complex.

I toured the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. I did not like it at all. It's old and needed a lot of repair, which they were working on some things, but it's just old and I wouldn't want to stay there. The people there seemed to be happy. The dining room was full. They do have an enclosed courtyard. They have a beauty salon, a cafe, and restaurant-style dining. The staff was very pleasant. She was very nice.

My mother is in Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. She seems relaxed and well-greeted there. She feels happy there and she likes her apartment. The staff seems to be very caring and they take care of business immediately. The food is good. The size of the room is adequate. The bedroom could be a little bit bigger. I have a queen-sized bed in there now. Other than that, the rooms are clean and seem to be functioning well. I've noticed bingo, chair yoga, and exercise outside.

I toured the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. The facility was very clean. The rooms were all updated. The facilities were updated as well. They have laminate flooring. They look like they were all just recently redone, but they were on the smaller side. The staff was fantastic. I saw them interacting with the residents very well and very endearing. I like that facility a lot.

We went to the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. We didn't try the food, but the chef came out and talked to us and he was absolutely wonderful, very enthusiastic, had a gorgeous dining room, and a creative cuisine. The building was very nice. They had beautiful outdoor spaces.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was a very cheerful place. It was very clean. The only thing was that it just looked a little bit outdated. There were a lot of people in the lounge and everybody was very friendly. The shower was kind of outdated because it was a step up, it wasn't a walk-in shower. They had a nice PT room. They had an activities calendar that was jam-packed with art activities and pet parades. The staff that I met during the tour all followed up and they were very helpful.

I went to look at the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. But I was taken aback when, at the very end, they said they don't think my husband was a good fit. They didn't even meet and know him, so that was just a hasty generalization. I would not recommend them to anybody. It seems like a nice facility. Location-wise, it was good. There were a lot of trees in the parking lot. For memory care, there was only one resident that I saw. The accommodations looked very nice. The staff did a very good job with the tour.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was very clean and the people were very nice. They have bingo games and a group of people that would come in to sing and play the piano. The memory care rooms were clean and big. The cafeteria was small because they only have a few residents, but that also means staff could spend a lot of time with them as they're not overcrowded.

I toured the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. It was nice but the rooms to me were small, and they don't even have a sink. That was a definite no right away because you can't even wash your fruit or anything. There's no sink besides in the bathroom, but that's kind of weird. They have a ton of activities. They have an onsite hair salon, and they have like a little cafe where you can use the internet. They also have like a little store, which is cute. They have like a lot of outdoor space. The staff was nice.

This facility has very knowledgeable, warm, and caring staff. The residents seem happy to be living here and quite engaged in the many interesting activities planned for them. The facility has great security and beautifully designed and very appealing spaces.

My mother and I liked the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. It was very clean, very friendly, had a nice atmosphere, seemed well maintained, and the staff was nice. The only thing we didn't care for was in the assisted living building. The main area just right outside of each apartment had a main living area there, and it's not very warm and inviting. It was kind of very cold and sterile-like. We saw the 1-bedroom apartments. They were old and definitely needed some work. They could use some paint and some new baseboards. Some of them were maintained better than others. They had the main room, a dining area, a beauty salon, and a computer room. They showed us a calendar, where they do all sorts of activities.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was an acceptable place if I could have afforded it. The place where mom would be staying was a separate building from the main building. It had a smaller dining area and the square footage of the room for two people to be residing was quite tiny. Everybody was nice. They were very polite, and the residents seemed to be with their faculties. Everybody that was there seemed to be an independent person. They gave me a sheet of rates of what they charged. She doesn't have dementia or Alzheimer's or anything like that. It was clean. I did not expect that the landscaping would be outstanding because they are not what I would consider a five-star establishment. It was adequate. The only people I had contact with were the sales managers.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was wonderful. They had a lot of flowers around. There were people walking, people being pushed in wheelchairs, or whatever. I was actually looking at respite there. They showed me a room. Everything was nice. I really, really liked it. They even had a pool there. It's very, very nice. It's in a neighborhood. I know this area very well. It was all lush vegetation around. It wasn't sterile at all. The staff was very knowledgeable and very nice. I saw the menu. They had a patio, and people could sit outside. It was very clean and very nice.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was a very nice facility. It looked like it was well run and well cared for. The staff seemed excellent. It's just that the staff at the other place impressed me more. The room that I saw was sufficient. It would have met my needs and my mom's needs. It had a bedroom, a very nice walk-in bath, and walk-in shower, and the showers had seats. It was just a nice facility.

I toured this facility 2 years ago and recently returned this facility WOW! Is all I can say. The memory care I can not even recognize. Everything looks and feels so bright and vibrant. There were staff that remember from my last tour still employed there. Longevity is always a plus sign in my book.

I was surprised to read the review from August 2020 as our experience could not be more different. To us, Grand Villa is really caring and absolutely not all about the money. When my father was in a rehab facility immediately after his stroke, my sister and I were constantly hassled with erroneous bills, etc. Grand Villa business office is first class and families have peace of mind that billing mistakes are not made and everything is run efficiently and is very-well organized. Oh my goodness, where do I begin? I have so many positive things to say about Grand Villa. My dad moved into Grand Villa in the spring of 2018, so he's been there just at three years. I think the highest recommendation an assisted living facility can receive is for the family of a resident to say that if they were to need somewhere to stay, that is where they would choose to be. My family would say this about Grand Villa. What really strikes me about Grand Villa is the excellent attitude of everyone encountered there. My father is in central Florida where my sister lives but my mother with Parkinsons is in Miami with me. At one point I explored assisted living facilities in Miami for my mom. I even toured and spent time at one of the "fanciest" facilities where the former president of the University of Miami resided and many very wealthy people lived. These places didn't come close to Grand Villa's warmth and caring attitude toward those who live there. We all want to be treated with caring, dignity and respect. Even more so as we age and are more vulnerable. Grand Villa treats the people who call it home with all three. This is crucial and I urge all of you looking into places for yourself or loved one that you really look at the attitude of staff toward residents. Are they treated with warmth and caring or as a burden? Grand Villa has mastered this and really excels in this most important quality: from the director to the staff throughout the facility to the business office ALL employed by Grand Villa are kind, respectful and a pleasure to interact with. Grand Villa constantly impresses me. I absolutely love the fact that residents can take their beloved pets to live with them. I appreciate how easy they are to work with in arranging transportation for doctors appointments or any other need. I appreciate the first-rate medical care my dad receives. Their staff doctor is excellent. Shantel is amazing and knows all the details about each resident's health and how they are doing. This efficiency and detail-oriented care is also reflected in the maintenance of medical records, coordination of care, etc. When there was a health issue with my dad the director, Shantal, had the medical records to me within minutes, is always easily accessible by phone, and eager and happy to speak to families about what is happening with their loved ones' health issues. She keeps in touch with family members and knows what is going on with each resident. She is very efficient and organized. My father needed to see a hematologist and Shantal was able to refer me to one and gave me the phone number to set up the appointment. She faxed all medical records to his office immediately and I didn't even have to provide the fax number! During that same conversation she put him on the transportation list for transport to the appointment, to meet a family member there. Grand Villa is an amazing resource that makes ensuring a loved one is getting the best medical care seamless and stress-free. Even the business office is a pleasure to deal with. My father has had some issues and Janet from Grand Villa's business office has been a godsend. Janet has been simply incredible. No one would have been as kind, patient, and compassionate as Janet in this situation. She has done her best to help us sort this out, spending lots of time working hard on this situation, even though the situation was not created by Grand Villa but by a lapse in coverage. Every time I called she was available. She was efficient and well aware of all details and worked hard to attempt various solutions. Janet is the best and Grand Villa is lucky to have her. I cannot recommend Grand Villa enough. Grand Villa has nice surroundings, with a tranquil pool area and pleasant dining area and lounge areas, VERY clean and well-cared for but what sets it apart is how people are treated- how well it's run- how residents who run into health issues are cared for. That's what matters and that's where Grand Villa excels.

My 93 year old parents moved into Grand Villa of Altamonte in August in the midst of the pandemic. Great care was taken to make sure that they were kept safe from the virus and the staff could not have been more cooperative or nicer. In fact, my parents are always commenting about how nice everyone is to them. We chose the one bedroom for them which was spacious enough to accommodate their queen size bed easily. My wife and I are very happy that we chose Grand Villa of Altamonte. If I was to complain about anything, it would be to wish there was more visitor parking.

I visited Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs in person. It was OK. There were certain things that I wasn't impressed by it. Financially, it's one of the big ones. Their memory care was under construction. We viewed two rooms. They're very small for what my in-laws can afford. The rooms were older and small. They had a little breakfast area, but that was taking up a lot of space. I remember the room being too small for two people and I was trying to figure how they could fit their beds. However, they were upgrading everything. I'm sure it's beautiful once it's completed but at this time, it was too much money. The staff seemed pleasant. They didn't offer us any food because they had some restrictions as far as Covid. I was with the sales person. They seemed very friendly. Overall, they were nice, they were average.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs is a very nice, upkept place. The personnel is great. We can't see my mother right now because everybody is on lockdown. They're doing an excellent job of ensuring the safety of the residents. There are no reported cases whatsoever in that location. The food is good. The dining area when it was open was quite nice. The activities have stopped, but they had bingo, arts and crafts, trips out to restaurants occasionally, they took them to Wal-Mart or different locations, and they had music came in every Friday.

My mother was at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs for three weeks. It was a nice memory care facility, but she was a flight risk, she kept trying to escape, and she fell five times. It's like a resort. We were very pleased with the facility and all the people, but my mother was the problem. They tried very hard, but she's just too difficult. The staff was very caring. The food was excellent, looked very nourishing and appetizing, and the menu was always changing. She did puzzles and coloring books, and she sat in the big living room and watched TV. They had the lowest price in the area.

I walked around Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs for a little bit and spoke with some of the staff there. They have the apartments surrounding the cafeteria, but the residents have to go outside to get there. We also saw the activity area. The staff members were very nice. They offer the same amenities. It was an unannounced visit, but they were nice enough to accommodate me.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs is the best place you can get for your money. The staff was nice. The place and the location were great. I liked everything about it. I really liked the general manager. The dining area looked like a nice restaurant. They have a pool, and they do a lot of memory trivia games downstairs. They have a little putt-putt golf thing in the back. There's a lot to keep them busy. The rooms were good.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs is a very nice place. The staff took their time to give us a tour and showed us the premises. She was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very patient. She was very good too. We were very impressed because it seemed like they take care of their patients. The food was good too. However, at the time we were there, no activity was going on, especially with the Alzheimer's patients. The nurses were taking care of them, but we didn't see any activities at the time. The residents have their own area to watch TV, play with toys, and do puzzles.

Grand Villa was awesome, the people were really nice, and if they had openings, I would choose that. The staff was down to earth. They took the seniors out on a schedule, and it looks like they schedule activities for the whole month.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was a beautiful place and would have had a lot more interaction opportunities for my mom. The model room was beautiful, sunny, and right off the common areas, but what they had available was in the older building, which was dark and depressing. All of the people were just sitting around silently. My mother would have hated that. The main building would have been great. They had a nice and cozy television viewing room that was not in the middle of the traffic patterns, a big room where they did crafts and different things, and a big dining room. The main building was fabulous, but the other one wasn't.

My tour of the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs was fine, but my brother and I didn’t have that warm fuzzy feeling about the place. Everybody was friendly and warm, and it was very nice. They allowed their residents to have their dogs there. The room that we saw was spacious. The people were very nice…from the maintenance people to the kitchen staff to the nurses. They had garden areas and a swimming pool.

My mother-in-law has been in Grand Villa for a month now. She's doing quite well. They're very caring and very loving. They seem to be taking good care of her. I think she's happy there. It's clean, the food is fine, and they have lots of activities; she likes the water aerobics. They also have movies, games, and a library, and they go out once a week. It's safe and secure, too. They do a good job.

Mom has been at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs for over a month now in their assisted living area. They are very caring, and I feel that she is definitely cared for. They are upbeat. Everybody knew who she was and knows her name right away. The place is clean. They have nice activities, but my mom is not really taking much advantage of all of them. They offer a great deal of activities including bus trips to malls. They have a pool which was very nice. Overall, I am impressed with the place.

I visited Grand Villa at Altamonte Springs. It had a lot more amenities. It had a swimming pool. However, it was more money. The people were very nice. The place was beautiful. I liked what I saw there. They had a little barber shop and a little ice cream stuff; it was cute. I did not feel like I was in an old folks' home. They had a monthly calendar of activities. They had outdoor activities like they would take you to picnic and places. The staff was very professional and very friendly. They showed me a studio deluxe. The rooms were bigger. They serve three meals a day.

Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs's amenities were all very nice. Their apartments were very good and up to date. I really did like it. They seemed to really try to enrich the lives of the residents there, which is important to me because as you grow older, you need that. I was there while they were cooking the food, and it smelled awfully good and made me hungry. The rooms were OK but on the small side. That was a negativ,e but it wasn't really a turn-off. They do seasonal activities, so when I went there, they were doing a whole bunch of Easter activities and really trying to get the residents involved. I like the fact that they change activities for the season or holiday since it helps the residents move through the year. I think that's important.

The facility is lovely, the food is good, and the activities are well planned. But what is most impressive is the quality of care. The employees have been there a long time and they know the names and personalities of the residents. They interact and seem to truly enjoy doing what they do. We spoke with some of the residents who only reinforced what we saw by saying it felt like a big family and they really felt cared for. Many thanks to Barnie. My husband and I came the first time on our own and then we brought my mom back a second time and she was very pleased. Not only do they offer assisted living but also respite care and adult day care.

I really liked Grand Villa, and it was really nice, but the price was out of my parents’ budget. They had gorgeous apartments with a nice little living room, small dining area, and bedroom. It was definitely the place where I would want my parents to go if they could afford it. The staff was very helpful, nice, and understanding. They deliver the meals to the room, and the menu looked good but somewhat limited; there were still nice options, though.

One we had considered was Grand Villa. What was appealing to me about this one was it was all on one floor. Most of these other ones are a multi-level. It was very nice. I did have issues with the parking though. They had added another wing, so there was virtually no parking for visitors, and that was kind of a drawback. But the place was very nice, and the people were very friendly. They had quite a few activities, and I was very impressed with the amount of personal interaction there. The first time we visited, they were doing chair exercises. The thing is when we walked in it was like, “Great.” They had different sized rooms, and we had looked at a room that we thought mom would like size-wise. From the time we started looking there, we’ve been there a couple of times, and then they raised the rates. They just pushed it out of her financial acceptability. The staff was friendly. I would take a point off for their lack of their parking. The food was good.
Provider Response
We appreciate the kind words about our community and staff. We pride ourselves on keeping our residents active and engaged. Parking is a challenge that we face daily, but we always make our residents a top priority and have several spots reserved in the front for potential residents. Most of our residents do not have vehicles but we accommodate the families by allowing them to pick up and drop off our residents at the front. We do a minimal increase with our rates yearly. I am not sure when you visited, but it may have been prior to the yearly increase and then after the yearly increase. I am not sure if you found a place for your mom but I would encourage you to come and visit us again. I would be happy to meet with you personally.
Sincerely, Beverly Skaggs Executive Director

My father is in Grand Villa. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. That is one of the reasons why I made the decision to go there. My father is in the memory care unit. The food looks wonderful in the main dining room, but that's not where my father eats since he is in the memory care. The rooms are very nice. They are very roomy. He is in a semi-private, but it has plenty of space for 2 people, and they share a bathroom. You can have a private unit. They have 3 different sizes of units so you have a choice. It is priced very well, and it is something my father can afford. They have a swimming pool. They have different things going on for the people. They have trips for the people, and they have a director in-charge for that stuff. Dad has been there for 3 weeks, and I visit him 3 times a week. It is very secure. They have a security code in the memory care unit that I don't even know. I have to be brought in and I have to be brought out to make sure that nobody leaves their space. Right now, it has been a very positive experience, and I am hoping that it remains so. Right now, it is looking good. For the price, this is the best choice for my dad.

Grand Villa has a very caring staff. They are clean. I have tried to eat there, and it is good. It is where he can eat. He was having trouble eating, and they have a diet just for him. The room is very nice because we were able to furnish it. The caring staff and the cleanliness impressed me the most about this facility.

We toured several facilities before choosing Grand Villa for our loved one. It stood out above others in every way. The staff was understanding and empathetic to family members who had difficulty coming to terms with the monumental decision of placing a loved one in their care. They welcomed our loved one with open arms and made the transition less heartbreaking for all of us. All of the staff have been accommodating and attentive to our loved ones needs and helped to make the transition smooth. The community offers all-inclusive care, which makes the cost a good value. The facility is clean, well maintained and in a beautiful setting. The sales staff is friendly, welcoming and fully engaged with the residents and with the family members who visit. The receptionist, Aneyssa is especially friendly and charming. She makes each phone call and visit a pleasant experience. Aneyssa is an asset to the community. I would highly recommend this community to others.

I am an Extraordinary Minister of Communion for the Catholic Church. I have been visiting Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs for a while on a weekly basis to distribute Communion to the residents. Although I have not had the personal experience of a family member residing at the facility, I feel that I can give an honest review from what I have witnessed. I sincerely trust that the entire staff is excellent! The management staff that I have had direct contact with is: The Executive Director, Director of Wellness, Life Enrichment Director, Maintenance/Housekeeping Supervisor and Community Relations/Marketing Director. These staff members all deserve resounding applause of EXEMPLARY service. Their dedication, professionalism and compassion is inspiring. They are always ready and eager to assist in the needs of others with great enthusiasm and genuine heartfelt concern and consistent devotion. I haven often said they are my "morning glass of orange juice" with their joyful dispositions. I can safely say that they do jump-start my week off to a wonderful beginning!

I currently reside with my daughter and son in law. But, I am actively researching assisted living facilities in the Altamonte springs area. I came across Grand villa and toured the facility with 2 other ladies, My daughter, and My son in law as I am hoping to find my own space with 2 to 3 months. I was greeted by the executive director who actually gave me the tour herself! She was very pleasant and made me feel like I was a part of the family. My first impression of the property was how beautiful and well kept it was. It was a great experience as we even had an opportunity to experience the great food as we stayed for lunch. Ms. Howell was helpful and delightful. At first glance I was amazed at how small some of the rooms were until She showed us another room. It was occupied but, I could tell that it was ample space. I was most concerned about the money. It's a bit pricey for me. I almost felt it was out of my league. But, Ms. Howell assured me that she could offer resources for some contacts at the VA who could offer assistance. Hands down this is a 5 star community!

We went to Grand Villa. It was the only place we've gone to see. We sat down with the staff for an hour and went over all the programs that they have and everything that they do and all the care that they give. We went on a tour of the place, and my sister and I felt like it does not feel like you're in a facility. It feels like you're kind of in a community; it seems very homey. We were taken around to the different tenants' housing. There were some who shared and some who have their own, and it just looked like their own little place. The director there made us feel really comfortable about the decisions that we had to make. She was great, and she followed up with me a couple of weeks later. She made us feel like she related to what we were saying and didn't make us feel like this is no big deal. They gave us a support meeting group calendar that we could go to for families that are going through the same thing, and just trying to place our mom and just how difficult it is to make that decision. They had shopping days, and they had birthday celebrations. They were having a Valentine's Day party for the tenants, and they invited us to stay. They had a guy who came in once a week and played the organ or the piano and entertained, and they all sang along. They took us into a room where they actually did garden therapy. They also had rocking babies. They have like a baby crib and they had dolls, and they said a lot of times that's good therapy for them. In the computer, they have memory games that they have certain times during the day -- cognitive working, that kind of thing. It was very informative.

My relative's experience at this facility has been first-rate. The facility is well maintained and the nursing staff and administration have been exceptionally compassionate and attentive. Nurses there even have caught mistakes in his medication that providers made -- an indication of their good training and hard work.

Mom stayed at Grand Villa a few times. It has nice lightning. The rooms were very nice. It looks like you're in a restaurant. The dining room was lovely and the food was good. The staff was very nice as well. They have a lot of activities. Every Sunday they make you an ice cream sundae and during Friday night they have what they call happy hour where they have somebody play music. They have big screen TVs and different exercise classes. They have a little computer lab. They also have a beauty parlor there and have a swimming pool. It’s just a nice place and the people are very nice. It's a welcoming facility. My mother was happy staying there and that was a big thing. She was happy to go back.

We've looked at Grand Villa Altamonte Springs. This is an assisted living facility and we are dealing with them right now. It’s close to my sister's house. We chose this facility because it doesn’t look like an institution. It's very clean and the staff is very lively. They all looked happy and well dressed with their makeup on. You don’t see anybody in a hospital gown walking around. Their meals are restaurant style. The apartments are really nice. The residents get to choose three choices with regards to their rooms. It looks like a home and it's cozy. They have apartment levels on the second and floor and all the activities are done on the first floor. They have terraces where the clients can do planting. They take the residents to shopping, to the beach, and to movies. They have a lot of activities that the residents can participate in. They really get the residents involved.

The people were friendly and nice. They had more comprehensive things that he would be needing. It was clean and it looked like a little resort. However, they have second floor and my dad doesn't want to be on the second floor. It was also a bit expensive

We were going to move dad to Grand Villa but unfortunately, he passed away. I was really impressed with the place. The management and the facility was nice. They even let me store his furniture there in the interim and hopes he was going to move in there. The place is newer and they have different size rooms.

This facility is poorly run -- They market you services and do not deliver what they sell you. Don't move to this or any of their properties as the marketing people have no idea what they are doing and do not deliver the services they promise. full of empty promises ..

Grand Villa view is nice. The facility itself is gorgeous, and very effective looking. The food and all the visible stuff, they're all very impressive. But their level of care is horrible. The staff is poorly trained. One of my clients was able to walk out of the facility and the person was found the next day wandering.

On the plus side: Great compassionate STAFF (nurses aids, housekeepers, maintenance personnel, kitchen staff they are all wonderful),reasonably clean, decent meals, very good location. On the negative side: They lack a case manager, lots of miscommunication at administrative level, they "market" services and care levels that are really not available as described, total lack of compassion and empathy from top management, for them this is just a business. To summarize, wonderful staff, terrible administration.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone. My grandmother stayed there for about a year. The Place is dirty, not well kept. They had construction workers work all through the night for 2 months, so my grandmother could not sleep. The staff was terrible, most of them are teenagers who are CNA's and not LPN or RN. One girl in particular would yell at my grandmother when bathing her and called her names. The food was ok, But they were only allowed to eat at set times, therefore, I kept food for my grandmother to eat if she got hungry. I was under the impression that it was assisted living facility not prison, but they made her wake up everyday at 4am. Overall it was a terrible experience. Stay away! they will take all of your money and treat your loved ones like a prisoner. Shop around and find a better place, Grand villa of Altamonte is terrible!
