"The facility is lovely, the food is good, and the activities are well planned. But what is most impressive is the quality of care. The employees have been there a long time and they know the names and personalities of the residents. They interact and seem to truly enjoy doing what they do. We spoke with some of the residents who only reinforced what we saw by saying it felt like a big family and they really felt cared for. Many thanks to Barnie. My husband and I came the first time on our own and then we brought my mom back a second time and she was very pleased. "My 90 year old grandfather had resided in the Tuskawilla Emeritus since August 21, 2010 until he passed away, and I cannot say strong enough praise regarding the facility. My grandfather was treated with respect and patience. His residence is kept very clean and tidy, the trash can's seem to be always empty.His restroom was always well-kept and sanitary. Emeritus really felt like home for him and made his last days special. It receives constant professional attention from the maintenance manager. Also contributing to the feel at home feeling is Deborah, who is the "Cruise" Director. She always has many activities planned for each day .The kitchen staff provides great tasting and healthy meals.They would have family brunches about once a month.This is where the whole family could come for brunch.It was a great feature as it was a good setting to bring the younger members of the family to see grandpa.All in all Emeritus is a great facility and I would recommend to anyone who has an elderly relative who needs a new residence. "

"Brookdale Altamonte Springs was very nice, clean, and well taken care of. They had different exercises and structured memory activities. The cafeteria was very nice. It looked like a small restaurant. It was very nice and clean. We were able to have free lunch with them, and the food was very flavorful. The cafeteria was on the main floor, so you just have to take the elevator down to get there. The apartments were very nice, very comfortable, and clean. There were some occupancies available so we were able to see the empty ones, e.g., a studio and a one-bedroom. They were roomy and very comfortable. The gentleman who met with us provided us with a lot of information."

"The community had a stale presence to it. The executive director was very cold. The alzheimers unit was nice the residents were busy doing crafts. The staff was very nice. The only thing is they were to expensive "

"We've visited Chambrel at Island Lake and the place is really beautiful. It's clean and well kept. They have large courtyard and garden, wide walking path, and they have an outdoor swimming pool! They only provide meals which is a choice of lunch or dinner. And they have private dining room as well for family or friends when they come to visit and dine. The staff were nice, very warm and welcome. It's place you can really choose to stay. "

"My mother-in-law moved into Wayman Place. The staff was great when we came in. They were very caring and knew a lot about what was going on. The people seemed active and all out. You didn't see everybody staying in their rooms. The first time we got there, they were caring companion dogs, which was nice. They were all out visiting with them. It looked like a lot of activities for the people. Since my mother-in-law has been there, she's already been on an outing with them. The community was very clean, one of the first things we noticed about it. It was nice, open, and bright. They have many food options."

"I visited and I liked it, and I liked the staff. Everyone seemed friendly and helpful, and I didn't see anyone standing around. It seemed like everybody was doing something. The rooms were nice and comfortable. I was looking at a bedroom, a sitting area, and a little alcove that you could put a dresser or a TV in. I didn't eat there, but the dining room was comfortable, and once a week, they had a special menu. The menus looked good. They had some exercise programs, some crafts programs, and games. When I went, they were gearing up for a Western night. They were going to have a Western Chuck wagon barbeque thing and music. You can hear the band coming in. They were doing some square dancing for those who knew how to dance. They had interesting activities. I was ready to move in myself. "

"My Mother in law is a resident in this facility and I "Have Never" seen her so happy and at peace as well as relaxed. She lived alone for many years and has to take a lot of medication. The whole staff is very caring, loving and compasionate as well as professional. Her meds are always given to her properly and we (the family) all feel very comfortable to have Mom living in such a safe and secure place. It really feels like a Big Happy Family. "

"My parents have settled on Excellence Senior Living - Orlando. They haven't signed the lease, but I think they're leaning toward that one. I like that there was a lot of visibility of the staff members, and the residents were out, active, and engaged. They supply a mini fridge in the room. The staff meber who toured us was very approachable and knowledgeable, and he answered all of our questions. We had lunch there, and the food was good."

"Brookdale Wekiwa Springs had cottages that we were interested in and we did go through and visit one of the available ones. They were exceptional in size and met our needs. They were all updated and had modern appliances. The staff was excellent and very knowledgeable. The gentleman I spoke to was very friendly. He even took us to one of the occupied facilities to see what one would look like furnished. Our lunch was very good, but the portions were a little bit smaller than we would have liked. They had a Wii station on the second floor, a gym, and a pool."

"We moved my father into the watermark 4 years ago, and as he put it he thought he had died and gone to heaven. He loves his spacious room with refrigerator and microwave for late night snacks. With his limited hearing capabilities he's not able to partake in a lot of the social gatherings with music and trivia, but loves and does not miss any bingo games. Charmaine is great making sure everyone is able to hear and see the numbers. He also is the first on the bus to any destination, grocery store, a lunch out, or field trip. Carlos will patiently load and unload them, guide them throughout there outting with such genuine care. A great staff that truly know him, and care for him. The dinning room is very plush, and has a great atmosphere. Kim the activities director is constantly coming up with new and enjoyable destinations, experiences, and quest. She really makes it a point to acknowledge the veterans here as well. If you stop by, he would love to tell you himself . Just ask for Lloyd, at 98 he's a firecracker."
