"We went to Sumter Place, you go in independent, move to assisted, and they got long term care. We liked that. Everybody was friendly, it was very warm, and when you walked in, you feel comfortable. The restaurant was open all, there’s no set time for meals, and they give you three meals there. They have excursions, activities, and a small pool, and they were within distance of a golf course. We loved the apartments very much; they had corner apartments that seemed to be larger than some of the others, and it was all decorated very nicely. "

"Hunt Trace Senior Living was very nice. It's 5 to 10 minutes from my area. The facilities were great. The manager there was great. Everything was great, but the asking price was too much. The staff was excellent. The apartments that they've shown were small, but they were OK. They showed us all the amenities, the common areas, and things like that. It was all very good, but their minimum was like $4,400 a month, and that's not in our ballpark."

"I visited Highpoint at Stonecrest. They have a swimming pool, and it's beautiful and new. I liked everything that I saw. The whole facility is a five plus. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and very informative. Everything about it was professional. I did see the dining room. It's like a restaurant. The cleanliness was superior. We went in the lobby, which was very well organized, clean, and well maintained. There's plenty of seating. They had a snack bar in there. It's like a hotel lobby. To me it was superior. The only drawback I saw was that the cost to stay there was too expensive from what I can afford."

"My friend moved to the memory care facility of A Banyan Residence - The Villages in Oxford, and they're terrific and top-of-the-line. I've checked out a lot of places, and this one is thousands of dollars less, but it shows a better program and care. That's what brought me into it. If the place was horrible, I wouldn't have put her there, so it had to be a combination of cost and facility. The staff members are all very good. They are professional, friendly, and know their work. If you have any issues, they're on it right then and there. Everybody has their own rooms. Even the ones that were paired have their own entrance to their own room. They have lots of outdoor stuff, too, which is really beautiful. They have picnic areas and tables, and umbrellas everywhere where they could sit. They have a big pond where they could feed fish. They also have an awesome movie theater. They go out a lot, too. The ones who sign up to go out and are capable of mobilization go to restaurants a lot. They take them shopping, and they craft things. They have reading and church activities. They have a lot of stuff going on all the time. It's not just once or twice a week; it's every day, and multiple things a day are going on for everyone in the facility. Another good thing is that they keep their residents separate because they have the high-end ones that are capable of taking care of themselves to a point, and then they have the ones that can't. They can mingle in the middle, but they have their own area. The ones that are really severe are separated. They have it really well designed so that they're separated into the little niches of their mental and physical ability."

"We toured Buffalo Crossings Assisted Living. It's very nice. They don't have independent living. They have nursing care. The rooms were adequate. The food was good. The dining area was very large. The staff seemed very happy. The residents enjoyed being there. They were well taken care of."

"Pendry Estate Assisted Living Facility is a beautiful Spanish style home located on 11 acres, in Lake County, Florida. My mother is a resident at Pendry, and will tell you that she has so much respect for Mel D, the owner of Pendry. My mother is a retired nurse, and former director of nursing and nursing home administrator. Mom is the first to give her unsolicited praise of the kind and compassionate care delivered at Pendry. If you visit before lunch, you will first notice the delicious smells as you enter the front door. You will likely find Mel in the kitchen chopping fresh vegetables, and putting the finishing touches on something mouthwatering simmering on the stove. The home is immaculately kept, and has an open floor plan with Spanish tile floors throughout the common areas. There are eight private bedrooms, each with a large roll-in shower. Most of the rooms overlook a heated pool, just beyond a large wrap-around porch, complete with a built-in brick barbeque. Mel encourages the families and friends of the residents to take full advantage of the amenities Pendry has to offer, including the barbeque and pool. Pendry is truly like a home. Our regular visits have given us numerous opportunity to witness the great care given to all of the residents (anytime of day, any day of the week)!"

"I'm interested in The Summit of Winter Garden. I just liked it. It felt comfortable. They showed me an apartment, everything was very nice. It was just very nicely laid out, it was big enough and not too big, and it had a nice little bedroom, and a living room. The residents were playing bingo, they had everything, and they said they have a party every Friday night. They had a beauty shop and library, which were very nice, and they offer transportation. It's a very clean and very well-maintained facility."

"We put a deposit on a room at Inspired Living at Windermere. It’s brand new. That’s one of the main reasons I like it. The rooms are going to be furnished with the resident’s furniture. There was no furniture in the place when I last saw it, but when people move in, they bring their own furniture. "
