"We toured Brentwood at Fore Ranch. We visited the assisted living facility. They discussed memory care, too, but we went for the assisted care. They were exceptional. The staff was very helpful. She gave me the information that I requested. We had a complete tour, and we were able to meet some of the staff and also some of the residents. We were welcome to have lunch sometime if we wanted to. She was exceptional. She was very good. The facilities were excellent. The room seemed a little bigger than some of the other areas. All of my mom's furniture would fit in nicely."

"I like Brookdale Canopy Oaks. The location is awesome because I could walk there if I needed to. It's a small facility, and I like that. It had a good atmosphere when I walked in the door. It was very friendly. They gave me a good tour. The staff seemed genuinely interested in the residents there. The place appeared to be very clean. They have this little spot where residents can garden and stuff like that. They seemed to have zeroed in on individual needs, which is good. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The receptionist was very welcoming, too. However, I didn't care for the layout of the bathroom. And the room seemed small, too."

"Ocala Senior Living is the one I was impressed by in Ocala. What I like the least is that it is too far from my home in Summerfield and much farther than Bellevue. That was the most negative thing that I could say about that place. It is very nice, though. It was furnished beautifully. It had beautiful artwork. The staff seemed very nice. It is a larger place than the one in Bellevue, but they had an administrator who was one of the most knowledgeable people that I've spoken with regarding my husband's disease. He was wonderful. He was an excellent representative of Ocala Senior Living."

"I toured Canterfield of Ocala. I wanted my mom to go there because it was beautiful. It's very nice and half the price. I liked the rooms and how they were designed. I liked the services that they provided. The assistant manager was so helpful. It was an open room waiting to be filled with furniture, but it was perfect the way it was designed. I would recommend it as one of the top choices."

"I visited Highpoint at Stonecrest. They have a swimming pool, and it's beautiful and new. I liked everything that I saw. The whole facility is a five plus. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and very informative. Everything about it was professional. I did see the dining room. It's like a restaurant. The cleanliness was superior. We went in the lobby, which was very well organized, clean, and well maintained. There's plenty of seating. They had a snack bar in there. It's like a hotel lobby. To me it was superior. The only drawback I saw was that the cost to stay there was too expensive from what I can afford."

"My husband will move into A Banyan Residence - The Villages. It's fantastic. It's beautiful. This place has lots of activities and things for him to do. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. Their dining program and dining area were excellent. They have an ice cream shop. People are always on staff. The rooms are nice and clean, and very well kept."

"They make it a point of getting to know you and your loved one and their needs. Although our dad was in for a very brief period we knew we had chosen the right place. "We were given a handful of places to tour, and Freedom Pointe at The Villages was the first one we looked at. Every other one we looked at after that didn't even compare, and every place we went just made it look better. The cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the facility, and just everything. My parents moved to their assisted living facility. It's my first experience with assisted living, and the odd part for me, my parents are absolutely fine with it, is that while it's technically a 1-bedroom but the bedroom wall is not completely closed off. That's a little different for me, but my parents don't have a problem with it. They seem to like it and maybe that's how others are, too. The staff comes by often to get their trash taken out daily and do their laundry. They're also very attentive, all the different staff. I have tried their food and my parents love it. They really went above and beyond, and all the staff seemed happy to be there."

"I was most impressed with HarborChase of Villages Crossing. It was the nicest of the three we visited. The lady who showed us around was wonderful. She spent a lot of time with us answering our questions. They have things like a salon where they can do hair and nails. It was beautiful. It was also landscaped beautifully outside. The rooms were really nice. They had a little bistro-type of thing, which had excellent coffee and scones. They even gave us scones to bring home. It was just very nice. They had a separate dining area for the memory care people, which was really nice. They could snack at any time, which is good for my mother because she likes to snack at odd hours."

"The Harrison of Wildwood was excellent. It was very neat. They were friendly. They showed us the rooms and the facilities. They answered all my questions about extracurricular activities and stuff like that. The rooms were very adequate for one person. The place was clean, and it smelled good. The dining area was very nice and spacious. The tables weren't crammed together, and that kind of stuff. That would be a place I would seriously consider for my mother. I thought the staff was very good and very thorough. We visited the exercise room. I was just very impressed with the place. It was very nice, spacious, and clean. I went into the restroom while I was there, and it was very clean. The residents smelled clean, and so did the rooms."

"I thought Sumter Senior Living was very nice. The only thing I can say is that I thought the food was not great. They kept their residents entertained, and they had a lot for them to do. The layout was good. There was not an outdoor smoking area, but they did allow pets, which was very nice. The staff was very, very nice, too. However, I felt like the dining situation was a little confusing. It was kind of disorganized."

"I visited the Village Veranda at Lady Lake's assisted living, and it was very nice. The building is fairly new, and the whole area is beautiful. The person who gave the tour was very nice and gracious. She explained everything nicely. There's nothing I can complain about the place. It looked very nice. I looked at the one-bedroom unit, which is what I was interested in, and it's very nice. A little bit smaller than what I've seen in one or two other people's bedrooms who are in assisted living, but there's nothing wrong with the room."
