As time went on and she became less active and frail the ladies would sit and read her passages from the bible which she loved. When she got to the point she needed around the clock care the ladies sat next to her bed all night, being alert to her needs. They kept detailed journals for each other and me in order to see her eating habits, bathroom needs, physical functions . The conversations she had with them assisted me in realizing her overall decline and assisted the doctors in her final days and they knew when to suggest to me that it was possibly time for Hospice. My everyday life was made so much easier knowing the ladies assigned to mother from Comfort Keepers cared for and about her as much as her family did. They became life-long friends. They tried hard and did a great job matching the caregiver with the family. Caregivers were kind and communicative with the out-of state family members. They always returned my calls or texts. I'm only using them for like an hour a day right now, just to try to slowly get used to having somebody in the home helping out with my wife.
