"It is a very good facility, and they are very good to work with. However, my father has severe dementia, and he is beyond their care. He needs a couple of people to help him and more nursing care than they can handle. My father has been there for two-and-a-half years now. Because I am three-and-a-half hours away, I asked the staff to please let me know every time something happens -- like if he falls or if he gets new medications -- and they always have, so they have been very helpful and accommodating. My father has a big studio apartment where you could put a bed, a recliner chair, a TV stand, a bathroom, and a closet. I have eaten there a few times, and the food is pretty good. In the memory care, they have two dining areas, a little café, and a full dining room where you have to sign up and get a little bit more dressed up for. They also have activities going on all day, from memory games to cards to sing-a-longs and to movies. They always keep him active. The memory care is very clean, the nurses are very attentive, and they are always on top of everything. They are very careful, especially with COVID, but it's understandable that they do what they have to do to keep their patients safe."

"The facility was very clean and all the staff were friendly and said hello as we walked by on a tour. The residents here had very nice things to say about the facility. They had activities going on while we walked around. It was a home like environment."

"I chose it for my mother. I was there with her for a week or so and she came to enjoy the place very much. She liked the food and she like the residents who were there. She was fine there. The rooms were very clean and spacious. I know they have some activities, but whenever they have activities I don’t really attend. I think they have some activities for coordination and my mother attended church services "

"Sunflower Springs looked nice to me. It was the first one we visited. I like it. The rooms were fine. The staff was a nice person. The director was very informative. The dining area looked like a dining room. The common area looked good. We talked to a few residents, and they like it there. The outdoor spaces were nice. They have nice garden, nice gazebo, and shuffleboard court. They have a cage where they're raising some live chickens and eggs. It's right by my house, so I like the fact that it's close."

"I was very impressed with Always There Assisted Living, LLC - Citrus Springs, FL. It was very clean and very nice. It seemed like they had everything that they needed for the residents who were there and stuff. But my mother doesn't have long-term health insurance, so couldn't afford for her to go there. It was the cul de sac, and they have several houses. The houses are all set up for the residents who stay there. They all have their own bedroom, but they have a common area for TV and dining. They had a screened-in porch where they could go out and sit out there. It was set up very nice, and I liked that. I liked the fact that the bedrooms were nice-sized. This one, they had just finished it, and they had room for four more residents to go there. The other houses were already full. So that's the one that I looked at. You could see that the outside was very well maintained."

"I like that the memory care in Canterfield of Ocala is a small part of assisted living. There are only 20 residents and so the ratio of caregivers to residents is very high. It is very clean. The meals are extraordinary. I followed them very closely. There is an activities director who keeps them busy all day unless they are sitting in the living room and just sleeping. Overall, I think that it is a very good lifestyle compared to other places that I looked at. They're well educated to deal with memory care residents. The building has a very nice layout. It's fairly new. It's only a few years old and so it's extremely clean. I've witnessed them cleaning and shampooing the carpets in the hall and shampooing all of the furniture in the living room and in the dining room. So, it's very good. There are singing and dancing activities, and then a morning exercise program if they're able to cope with it. They go outdoors on the patio when the weather is good. They have little craft activities, they play bingo, and they love to play basketball. They also have movies (there's always a TV on), So, there's plenty to do to keep them occupied. Compared to others, nothing is inexpensive. Everything else is expensive, but we chose this place because of the quality of care and so money doesn't enter into it."

"I like because it is small. They only have 48 assisted living spots. I kind of like the small facility rather than something huge. I liked it very, very much. It's three on my list. Internet and cable are included. They include transportation to the doctors within 10 miles. It's right up the road from us, so that's a plus. The premises were very well maintained. It had a lot of pluses for it. It seemed to be nicely landscaped. I didn't see any issues as far as cleanliness. It seemed to be welcoming. It seemed to have various activities for the residents, so it's a good atmosphere."

"I liked Brookdale Canopy Oaks very much. Lea was wonderful. But unfortunately, in terms of the environment, it reminded me more of the nursing home setting. Everything else was wonderful, but it wasn't what we were looking for. That particular facility is closer to my house than any of the others. Cleanliness is fine, it was in very good shape. Some ladies were getting ready to play. I don't know if they're getting ready to play bingo or a game of cards, I saw some ladies in a gathering area. And they looked fine. I saw their dining room, and it looked great. I didn't have a problem with the facility itself. It was a tiny bit dark, I think that was just the inside lighting."

"My first priority deciding on an ALF/Memory Care facility: Medical care in a caring environment, provided by experienced staff. Choosing Elevated Estates, Brooksville met my requirements. The medical, support, and facility staffs attention to my husband was exactly what he needed. Yes, the facility is undergoing major physical renovations. While that was ongoing, it is clean, comfortable, and when something unexpected happened they addressed it practically immediately. I’m truly grateful for the care Elevated Estates Brooksville gave our family."

"You can really tell that the facility had been doing business for a long time. They have an excellent dining room. They have a really nice pool in the middle. They have really good staff. There were very engaged. This facility might be too busy for Mom, but it's actually the facility that I thought one of the best that we saw. "

"My mother has moved into Casalia Gardens. I knew she would like it there because of the amenities and the environment. There's a very professional medical staff. It's a homey environment. They have very good specialists that come in and visit the facility and see the patients. It's a homey atmosphere, it's hands-on caregiving, and it's constant supervision. The place is very clean. The patients are well cared for. The food is excellent, fresh, and home-cooked every day. They have puzzles, coloring, games, and bingo. They have endless activities to occupy the residents. The move-in was very easy. It was coordinated and so professional. My mom is very comfortable there. It's a wonderful place."

"It has the two-bedroom that we were looking for. The people seemed nice and they had something going on in the lobby when we got there. There was some music I think. The lady that gave the tour was very nice. The size of the room was fine. The only thing I didn't like was there's only one bathroom, and that's when you first come in, and it's quite a ways from the bedroom. Also, the facility has big, long halls and there's a long walk and it would have been nice if they had little garages for cars."

"Hawthorne Inn of Ocala was an average facility, but the interaction I saw between the residents was excellent. They were interactive. It's good. We were in the dining area because it was around lunchtime, and Dad got to see the interaction of people there and was concerned about the language barrier. Most of them were only English speaking, and he's a Spanish-speaking 99%, He wanted to make sure that the location had some bilingual people or people who spoke his language so he could interact with them properly. We visited the three types of room sizes. They were adequate. The room size, for our standards for one person, was kind of in the middle range. It wasn't that big. The hallways were clean. Everything's OK. We went through a library area where the residents got to pick books and read. They had somewhat of a selection. It wasn't a huge selection. Then we stepped outside. In our opinion, the outside was not an appropriate interaction for outdoor activities because there was none, other than a small porch with a couple of seatings. You just kind of sit there and maybe bask in the sun, and that's about it. My dad is more of the outdoorsy type that he would like interactions with a garden or growing tomatoes, or there are animals in the facilities, or just basically gazing and seeing what's going on in there to kind of keep his mind occupied. I personally liked the wood floors. That made it a nice, very homey, and warm feeling. The staff was friendly. All the spaces that I visited were clean. I got a peek at their activity room or craft room where they were doing some painting or something like that, and it was small because this looks like a smaller facility than the other one we visited. I saw their menu and they had a variation of items."

"My sister goes to Buffalo Crossing. It is brand new, so there aren’t a whole lot of tenants in there yet. It is very nice. The apartment is very nice, big, bright and clean. When she moved in, she told me it was much bigger than she remembered. She is very impressed with the meals, so the food is excellent. For the short time that we are there, I did not notice any activities, expect for people walking around and having their own lunch. "

"My parents have moved into A Banyan Residence. What I like best is that the whole facility is enclosed. My mom has dementia. She's not a wanderer yet, but we don't have to worry about it. What I like least is that the units are so small. Every time I'm there, I eat and it is awesome. The activities are great. My parents are not yet good about joining in the activities, but the ones that they have done, they love especially the music. They have live music and that's one of their favorites. Value for money is good."

"My mom has moved into The Residence at Timber Pines. The grounds are immaculate at all times. The interior is clean. It is very easy to get around. I have not had a single complaint about the food. It's at the top of my list. They have a fitness room, and they offer stretch and fitness classes. They have multiple activities such as bingo and card games. They have a church service. They have a program that is a 'meet and greet' of the residents. They have dominoes. They have outside people come in with canines, and the residents can visit with the animals. There are multiple things that they can do. I have not found a single person that was rude or unfriendly. They are all wonderful. It is a bit more expensive than the other ones, but it's much better in my opinion."

"I've been to Sumter Place In the Villages a couple of times, and I like it a lot. I think the community was very active and very positive. There are lots of things to do, there are different choices, and there's a lot of people there. In the independent living there are a lot of individual homes or town homes even though they're very close in the community. There are different stages of living. So if you go in there relatively early and then you get a medical condition and decide to be less independent, you can move to a more appropriate part of the community. The residents really love being there, so they're really pleased with it. There's a golf cart within the community, lots of restaurants, lots of stores, and anything you want, even lawyers and medical. It's very highly regarded. It's one place I would consider for the future. They're not living in high-rises. They go out of their way to engage the people around them so there's a lot of camaraderie, and lots of the people are very outgoing."
