I like that the memory care in Canterfield of Ocala is a small part of assisted living. There are only 20 residents and so the ratio of caregivers to residents is very high. It is very clean. The meals are extraordinary. I followed them very closely. There is an activities director who keeps them busy all day unless they are sitting in the living room and just sleeping. Overall, I think that it is a very good lifestyle compared to other places that I looked at. They're well educated to deal with memory care residents. The building has a very nice layout. It's fairly new. It's only a few years old and so it's extremely clean. I've witnessed them cleaning and shampooing the carpets in the hall and shampooing all of the furniture in the living room and in the dining room. So, it's very good. There are singing and dancing activities, and then a morning exercise program if they're able to cope with it. They go outdoors on the patio when the weather is good. They have little craft activities, they play bingo, and they love to play basketball. They also have movies (there's always a TV on), So, there's plenty to do to keep them occupied. Compared to others, nothing is inexpensive. Everything else is expensive, but we chose this place because of the quality of care and so money doesn't enter into it.

Canterfield of Ocala was a brand-new facility. It was very nice. It was better priced than the other place. The apartments were very nice and modern. Everything was new. The cafeteria was beautiful. The dining area was very nice. The lounge area was also very nice. The only activity that we saw at that time was they were having lunch. It seemed to be a very nice looking lunch. Another thing that was nice was they would be picked up, taken to their doctors' appointments, and brought back. They also had a doctor on the premises if you wanted to see a doctor. It's a beautiful facility. We only met one person there. I don't remember her name, but she was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. I liked that facility very much.

We toured Canterfield of Ocala. The parking was convenient. I parked right outside the door that I went in. You walk through door, and they have a really nice lobby. The staff there got to us right away. They were super friendly. The dining room looked really nice. They showed me some pictures of the food my dad would be getting. The room was nice. They had several amenities, like a movie room.

Canterfield of Ocala was new and very pretty. The studios were very nice. The food was excellent, but it did not have a swimming pool. They should lower the price, but they're all too expensive. The staff was very good, friendly and caring.

Canterfield of Ocala had just recently been built. Everything was brand-spanking new, so it was in tip-top shape. It wasn't fully landscaped and had a lot of things that needed to be completed. The staff I met was very nice and new, so they couldn't answer all the questions I had, but they said they'd get answers. They had an exercise, television, and computer room, and a game room where people could play bingo or bridge.

I like the location of Canterfield of Ocala because it is right near where I live now. The place is beautiful and beautifully landscaped. Everything about it is very nice, but the price is very high. They have two other levels. The staff members were great. We had lunch there, and the food was very good. They had activities and showed us a very small apartment, which was extremely cozy and beautiful.

The facility is brand and very pretty inside and out, the sales person was very knowledgeable and gracious. Mom and I were treated to a delicious lunch, we had an opportunity to be served by the Dining Room Manager and even spoke with chef. Overall our experience was a good one, with all the staff we meant being very kind. We noticed during the first however when we were invited to stay for entertainment that there was not much activity in the facility and not many resident present to enjoy the music. I decided that we should come back on a weekend , so we returned the following Saturday to check things out for a second time. Mom and I again found little activity taking place and residents sitting around the front desk. I believe from what we have seen that the care, food and environment are most likely fantastic, but a stronger activity calendar and more staff engagement with the residents is a must. This was my first choice because of location, however we decided on something different for the time being. We will check back again when they more residents and see if the activities are better.

We visited Canterfield of Ocala. The facility was open, but the outside villas had not been finished yet, and that's what we were interested in. It was beautiful, and that would be my selection if I was going to one of the places. We saw the library, the dining hall, and the little snack bar, and we saw the main lobby which was lovely. We saw a couple of the apartments, but it was not what we wanted. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable about their entire facility. They offered us a meal, and it was very nice.

Canterfield of Ocala was kind of off to itself. It was near a healthcare facility, but there was not really anything other than Walmart that was near it right at the moment, so it was across from Walmart. It was very new, so it was very clean. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and informative not forceful, which was nice. It was just that out of all the other communities that I have visited, the apartments were extremely small in the living space area and the kitchen was really equal to about a wet bar that you would see in maybe a hotel, which was a little disappointing. But other than that, it was lovely.
