"We were given a handful of places to tour, and Freedom Pointe at The Villages was the first one we looked at. Every other one we looked at after that didn't even compare, and every place we went just made it look better. The cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, the facility, and just everything. My parents moved to their assisted living facility. It's my first experience with assisted living, and the odd part for me, my parents are absolutely fine with it, is that while it's technically a 1-bedroom but the bedroom wall is not completely closed off. That's a little different for me, but my parents don't have a problem with it. They seem to like it and maybe that's how others are, too. The staff comes by often to get their trash taken out daily and do their laundry. They're also very attentive, all the different staff. I have tried their food and my parents love it. They really went above and beyond, and all the staff seemed happy to be there."

"I visited Highpoint at Stonecrest. They have a swimming pool, and it's beautiful and new. I liked everything that I saw. The whole facility is a five plus. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and very informative. Everything about it was professional. I did see the dining room. It's like a restaurant. The cleanliness was superior. We went in the lobby, which was very well organized, clean, and well maintained. There's plenty of seating. They had a snack bar in there. It's like a hotel lobby. To me it was superior. The only drawback I saw was that the cost to stay there was too expensive from what I can afford."

"I will move into Lake Port Square. I like that all the units have a little patio that's glassed in and are like separate rooms. This unit is gorgeous. It has a quartz countertop, lots of cabinet space, and a lot of storage space in all its units. I ate lunch there, and the food was very good. I like Cindy, the salesperson. She's a very nice person and accommodating, and the fact that they send a person out here with the floor plan of your unit to decide what to take will help tremendously in the move. You can bring two pets under 20 pounds. The full-time nurse is there Monday through Friday from eight to four. I met some of the staff, and everybody seemed friendly. The rooms are very large, and that is what I like most about them."

"Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle's independent living is outstanding. It's the one that both my niece and I like. It's just a warm and friendly place. Everything was great, and the size of the room and the layout were perfect. It was just the best place we looked at. We looked at the 1-bedroom apartment. The best part about it was the kitchen. At another place we saw, there wasn't much of a kitchen, and I like to bake, so that'll be a problem. This one even had a dishwasher. I grew up washing dishes, so that would not even be a big deal, but they have it. It was also just laid out nicely, with lots of closet space, and it just looked like the perfect place. We were there for almost 2 hours, and the people we met and the places we saw were great. The person who gave the tour showed us everywhere and everything. She also said they have a few bakers there, so once in a while she'll find a treat inside her office door. She turned us around everywhere and talked about lots of group things. There are some groups with different activities. There's one little group that goes out to eat once in a while, and they pick different restaurants. There's another group that will go to a theater, or they'll go shopping and stuff like that. It's an active place. They even have a swimming pool there. We met a couple of the residents, and they were all very friendly. They said they hoped I would come and live there, and they don't even know who I am, so it was just really nice. Everybody was nice, warm, and friendly when we walked in the door. They welcomed us when we came in. The person who gave the tour flew down the hall, and then we went by the room where the nurses are, and we saw the beauty shop and barber shop. We saw all the activities for physical therapy, or if there is some special exercise that you want to do. They also have yoga classes. She showed me the calendar for the month, and it was just huge, so they do keep you busy. The place was clean, neat, and orderly, and there was plenty of parking. There's one gentleman there who has some type of a little wheelie thing that he gets around with, so they made sure that he got an apartment at the end of the hall. There's a stairwell there where he could park instead of inside his apartment, so they're very accommodating. It's just a place that you feel comfortable in, and a place to go home to."

"Sky Active Marion Woods is very nice, clean, and very good. The food was good; I ate lunch there. The people were great. The manager of the place was super. The girl that showed us around was very, very knowledgeable and good. They offer medicine if you want. They offer you the opportunity to have your clothes washed or you wash them yourselves. They offer certain things or programs during the week. A couple of days during the week, they'll take you to doctor's visits and places you need to go. There are games, too. I couldn't find anything wrong with that place. It was very good."

"I toured Canterfield of Ocala. I wanted my mom to go there because it was beautiful. It's very nice and half the price. I liked the rooms and how they were designed. I liked the services that they provided. The assistant manager was so helpful. It was an open room waiting to be filled with furniture, but it was perfect the way it was designed. I would recommend it as one of the top choices."

"I have seen Hawthorne Estates of Ocala for my mom. My mother-in-law who has passed away also stayed there, and everything was fine. Everything they did was exactly the way I wanted it. I have also never had a problem with the staff. I've never tasted the food, but I have never heard any complaints about it either."

"The Oaks at Waterman Village in Mt Dora was the perfect place for my parents to retire. They moved to the community 12+ years ago. Mom lived there another 10 years after my dad passed. She had a wonderful villa with an outdoor bird-watching space and a beautiful garden with her favorite plants. The two-bedroom offered space for our out-of-town family to visit, a fully equipped kitchen, and a covered space for her car. She loved the convenience of shopping, her church, and her local family. Community activities, home health care, and friendly faces, both staff and management, were available when needed. It was a wonderful place to make friends and live your best life."

"We like Lakeside at Waterman Village a lot. We liked where it was located. It was pretty and very comfortable. They have nice apartments, but at the time, it was out of our price range. Overall, the staff was wonderful. The place was very clean. They presented very well. They had all kinds of activities. It was a nice place. The only drawback was that we couldn't afford it. The staff was amazing. They were very patient and understanding and very capable of answering any questions that we had. They were really nice. They took us on a tour of the entire area. It was just beautiful. The facility was well kept. The staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful, too."

"My parents are here. The staff is very attentive. All of their departments are very complete. They have doctors, professional nurses, and attendants. The building and grounds are spectacular. It has a swimming pool, putting green, three restaurant types, a 250-seat theater, Symphony Orchestra that practices there Friday evenings occasionally, many different venues, libraries, game rooms, and a large gymnasium. They have a full-time chef for three meals a day. The rooms that we acquired were large, spacious, and included a full kitchen. It's an assisted living facility. They're escorted to meals by a wheelchair. I've had three encounters there with food and it was all very nice. They have numerous activities."

"My dad will move into Watercrest Buena Vista. We chose them because of the location, amenities, and food. They have a swimming pool. The layout was what he was looking for. It was well-built, well-constructed, and well-tended. It had everything he was looking for."

"I am choosing The Villages because I have another family member who has moved down there. It also offered a lot of the active amenities that I wanted. The least thing I liked about it was it was very spread out. It was not like most of the communities I looked at through Caring.com that had a central hub where people could gather. This place had those, but you would have to drive to them. The one who toured me was a real estate agent, and she was very, very helpful. I honestly didn't think that they had homes in the $200,000 range because I thought they were more expensive. And she showed me some very nice budget-type homes in the 200,000s. So, I was able to purchase one of those. It was a house and it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. The location of this facility had a lot of shopping areas, a lot of recreation areas, pools, and activity areas spread out throughout the grounds. It was its own city and it had several zip codes. They were not only helpful in helping you find one, but once you have bought one, they were there to fix anything and they had a great home warranty kind of thing that just comes with it. You didn't have to buy anything separately. They would come in and fix everything that happens to the home for a year, whether it's plumbing or if anything breaks, or if anything isn't working the way you thought it should. They were very, very supportive and they ensured that you were satisfied with everything. They were always there on top of everything and made sure everything was clean and everything was always working."

"Trinity Springs is a beautiful facility. The staff have been wonderful. I am very eager, and my dad is eager to get there. It is a very wonderful looking facility and is one of the most sought after facilities in The Villages community. The atmosphere overall is bright, friendly, and comforting. They have a physical training room and nice grounds. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and priced right. It is like walking into a resort. It is very elegant and clean."
