"My husband moved into The Grove at Trelago. It's a beautiful place. The residents are well taken care of. They engage the residents. I don't worry about my husband wandering off anywhere because they're watched. The food is excellent. The care is excellent. I have absolutely nothing but praise for them. The staff members are very caring and good with the residents. They have gardens that they can walk through, but it's still confined. Outside their apartments, they have shadow boxes into which they can put memorabilia. It's very well done. The food is outstanding. They have pools, and it looks like a resort. They keep them busy with activities."

"The first and foremost thing, it is unique to my mother's situation, so I am not sure how many other people would appreciate this, but it really was important to us. She is an amputee, and because of that, transfer is a problem, and the one leg that she has had gotten weak, so it's very difficult for her to bear weight on that leg enough to transfer as she used to, and she lived in an ALF for eight or nine years. Now, the ALF won't take you if you can't transfer bearing your weight. Most of them can't do the board transfers, and none of them can do the hoist. She was in a place before this where the staff was wonderful, and the only problem was that the accommodations there were either double occupancy or quadruple occupancy, and she wanted a private room. It offers private rooms, but I don't think their care level is up to the other place's was, but then again, my mother is just an amputee, a little overweight, 90 years old, and full of arthritis. There is a dining room in the skilled nursing side and a dining room in the ALF side. She has a motorized wheelchair, and we had to get an exception for her to have it. They gave her the exception, so she can go over and eat on the ALF side. I have eaten there with her a couple of times. On Mother's Day, I had salmon, and it was wonderful; they had very good food. Her room is super. She has her own bathroom and a motorized reclining chair that helps her up, so she has room for that. And she has her own pictures on the wall and her privacy. It is not huge, but it is adequate and very nice. I have always found it clean, and we have only been there for four weeks. I would downgrade it only for the staff, and I would have not known this had I not already been to where she was before and seen what a five-star place is like."

"I went to Bahama Bay Club Luxury Senior Living. The food was delicious. They offered me soup, and it was so nice and tasty. Then they offered me a dish with vegetables and potatoes, and on the side, there was some kind of a dip and it was delicious. I enjoyed it a lot. It's very clean. The people were very nice and very friendly. I visited the whole place. I was very impressed. The decoration was very sophisticated, and the smell was so nice. It includes so many activities, restaurants, movies, hair salon, pedicure, and manicure. The staff was very good. I was so happy. The guy who did the tour for me was a gentleman, very generous and very nice. He let me see three apartments and the apartments were so neat, so clean, and very good. It was a very good experience for me."

"We had a good tour of Gentry Park Orlando. I like the way their apartments were set up, and they had everything that my mom would possibly need. The only downside is that they don't accept Medicaid. The staff that gave the tour was very informative and she showed us everything that we needed to know. But we can't afford the place, and it would have helped if it had been accepting Medicaid, then I would have been all for it and I would have tried to convince my mother. The facility itself was very clean and well put together. There was nothing wrong with it that I could see. We didn't have any of the food but they had a cafeteria with a menu. It was a restaurant-type setup cafeteria, and people went in and sat down at the tables. They have chef-prepared meals. They had a salon, and there are doctors and nurses on site so that was a plus, and they had a game room."

"We are happy where we are. Villa Grande is comfortable, and it is roomy and satisfying in every way. We have been here for almost three years. They do have certain things like they have arrangements for shopping and stuff like that."

"My tour at Florida Golden Adult Care went very well. I liked that it was a neighborhood, in that my aunt wouldn't get lost in a giant building. The place was very clean. The staff who toured us was very welcoming and informative. I was given a tour of the house. She showed me the complete facility. The dining area was clean and welcoming. There's a nice big backyard with a screened-in porch to eat out, and there's a TV, too."

"I liked Inspired Living at Ocoee. It was nice. It was cleaner and newer. The setup was also nice. You have to bring your own TV, bed, curtains, pictures on the wall, and everything. You furnish the room yourself and they would allow you to bring your dog. They have a swimming pool and they have three meals a day and snacks. The lady that gave the tour was good and knowledgeable of the place and activities that they were doing. She answered all my questions when I wanted answers."

"I loved Arya at Windermere. It was like a Cadillac; it was beautiful. The only thing is I have two little dogs, but there's no room for dogs there. I can't walk, so my dogs need a little backyard. The apartments were really, really nice. The bedroom is small, but other than that, it's beautiful. The staff was wonderful, too. She gave me a tour of the whole place. Everything was beautiful. The dining area was really nice and clean. If it weren't for the dog area for my dogs, then that would be my top pick. They do accept dogs there, but it's not convenient to have a dog there. I would have to have doggy pads in my apartment, and I don't like that."

"The Summit of Winter Garden was the best of the places I visited. They made sure I knew right away that they did not take Medicaid. The person who did the tour was very knowledgeable about what was going on. She was very good. The apartments were laid out well. They had a few advantages over most of the others. They had balconies on every apartment and laundry in the bathroom. Everything was set up very nicely. The dining area was very nice, too. Then I went into one of their activities rooms. They had a pool table, and someone came in to play. She showed me around most of the activity rooms and all three floors. They really had a lot a lot of things going for them."
