"I will be moving into Riviera Senior Living. A lot of my neighbors moved to Riviera, so I thought that might be quite nice because I know a lot of people, plus the fact that it is very, very nice, and everyone seems to be quite happy. What I like best is the condition that it was in because the place where I came from was sold under terrible circumstances and is just falling apart. The staff was very, very helpful and very, very nice. I was with another couple of friends who were also looking, so we all had lunch together, and it was excellent. It was very, very clean. That was one of the things I was very impressed with. The condition of the buildings was excellent as well. The size of the rooms is pretty good, and each apartment has its own washer and dryer."

"Lexington Place was clean and very professional. They had a lot of amenities. They have a bus to bring their residents on trips. They also have a lot of activities. There wasn't anything I didn't like about it. They have a salon, a library, an ice cream shop, a craft room, a TV room, and a dining area. It smells very clean there."

"Alba Court Residences & Adult Day Care Center had a lot to offer. The building was four stories but had a very small living apartment (I would hardly call it an apartment). It was a one-bedroom and the two bedrooms were also tiny that it was almost like being in a college dorm. It was very difficult to put a king-sized bed in the bedroom, but the living environment was very cozy and warm. Each room had a small balcony. Unfortunately, those that got better views were all taken. It was in a very nice beach town. It's a busy place most of the year-round, but you could feel like you could be a part of the town, not just the residence itself."

"Woodland Towers was very nice. We had a very good experience. Diane gave us a tour and it's a very nice facility. They even gave us a free lunch to test the food and it was very good. They had lots of options to choose from. We liked the place because it's going to be near where we're planning to buy a home. The facilities are very clean, roomy, and kept up well. They have a lot of activities and they have a nice dining room. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. They have a beauty salon, ice cream parlor, and fitness room. They also have a computer room and a laundry room on each floor."

"I will move into Sky Active Sterling Court. It's in a location that I want to remain in, and the staff here has been excellent. The apartment is fine. It's a one-bedroom, and it's just what I'm looking for. I had lunch here yesterday, and it was excellent. The dining area was nice and well put together."

"We toured Villa Grande on Saxon. It's a large complex, and they have a large variety of apartments. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments, and they have one that is 1-bedroom and a den. The only downside is I'd prefer a smaller complex. They don't provide the food, which is fine. There seem like a lot of places nearby have takeout if I want it. My husband and I are both diabetic and watch our diet pretty well. I saw the gym and they seem to have a variety of equipment there. I saw in the front area a table set aside for putting puzzles together. And there was an incredible amount of puzzles on the shelves in the room. I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles when I have time."

"Bahama Bay Club Luxury Senior Living was a very nice facility. I enjoyed my tour. I know some people who have recently moved in there, and they're happy with it. It's all brand new. They had a library. It seemed like they had everything they needed. The staff was very informative and very pleasant."

"I have found Grand Villa of Palm Coast. I'm on their waiting list. Compared to other locations in and around Jacksonville, I found that this place had a little bit more square footage for the same price. It also had the amenities that everyone else had. It's smaller than some of the communities that I saw in Jacksonville, and it felt more comfortable to me. They have independent living locations that are all separate and then they have assisted living and memory care that's all in another building. It was just nice. I did not try the food because food is not a particular concern for me. Every staff that I encountered was pleasant and very helpful. They have the normal weekly calendar that everyone has of the things that you can do. There was nothing that stood out, it was just enough to make it interesting for me. The area that is off the beaten trail, but close enough to the other things that were available in Palm Coast just makes it convenient. It had just gone through a renovation, and my impression was that they had taken up a lot of carpeting and putting down wood, so everything looked neat and attractive to me. I saw people riding bikes, which I thought was kind of fun and interesting. They have walking trails. They have at least five activities that seem to go on regularly during the week, and then they have at least five or six other things that are offered. They do a monthly food thing where they accept food from around the world. They have the traditional stuff like cards and exercise and things like that. They didn't have anything on their schedule that stood out, it was just what I had seen at every place else, which was enough for me. I wasn't looking for a lot of activities because I'm a pretty active person."

"I was able to visit because it was very close to me and it's a new facility. I love it, but it was too big. It would be overwhelming for my parents. It was just a huge facility and my parents would have been too spread out and separated from each other because they would not be together."

"I toured The Savoy Gracious Retirement Living. I liked everything about it, but two things. Number one, there is no range stove in the unit. Number two, there's no washer and dryer in the units. You have to go out to do your laundry. You have to go into another room, and I don't like that. Those are two negatives about the place. Everything else was fine. It was really nice. I liked it. Those are just two factors that I'm considering, and I know you're supposed to eat your meals in the dining room. But I don't like the idea of not having a stove because I've lived with this range all my life, and not having one just bothers me. What I liked best about it, number one, was that I was impressed with the people I saw there when I was being shown everything, whether they worked there or were residents. Everybody was very friendly and nice. I thought this might be a nice place to live. Everything was clean and well taken care of, and there's so much to offer. I would be busy all day if I did everything - their number of activities. The lady who showed me through, Lynn, was just great. She was terrific, and then the staff that I saw there, like the housekeeper on the second floor, was primarily the one I talked to. She was working, but she was down in the hallway doing something. She was very friendly. I thought that was very nice of her."

"Crane Lakes is very immaculate and very well-maintained, and we just signed the contract today. The one we are getting is 2-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, and the view is terrific with small lakes and a clubhouse in sight. They have card and craft rooms, pool tables, tennis courts, shuffle board, and swimming pools. It has a restaurant that we can use. What we saw in the dining room was very well-designed; however we have to pay for the meals. We do our own meals at our own unit. The staff was great; it’s clean and beautiful. "
