"My husband moved into The Grove at Trelago. It's a beautiful place. The residents are well taken care of. They engage the residents. I don't worry about my husband wandering off anywhere because they're watched. The food is excellent. The care is excellent. I have absolutely nothing but praise for them. The staff members are very caring and good with the residents. They have gardens that they can walk through, but it's still confined. Outside their apartments, they have shadow boxes into which they can put memorabilia. It's very well done. The food is outstanding. They have pools, and it looks like a resort. They keep them busy with activities."

"Spring Haven seemed to be too large of a facility for us. It's not that cozy of an atmosphere. It's more costly also, so that was another deciding factor. They had an outdoor secure area. It seemed to be not as homey. It was a little bit too big. The staff who took me around was friendly, personable, and informative. No issues with the staff."

"We toured Lake Howard Heights. It was interesting. The people were very nice, both the tour people and the residents. It was an older building, but it was taken care of for the most part. The room size was OK. The dining area was very nice, large, well taken care of, and clean. There was enough parking space. The waitress said that they had stuffed pepper soup. When they brought it to me, it was cabbage soup, and it was horrible. Then I had half the sandwich, and I couldn't eat it. It wasn't very good. They didn't have activities, which was one thing I wanted in a senior community. They had yoga twice a week, and that was it. It just wasn't the place that I would have wanted to go."

"I toured the Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs. It was nice but the rooms to me were small, and they don't even have a sink. That was a definite no right away because you can't even wash your fruit or anything. There's no sink besides in the bathroom, but that's kind of weird. They have a ton of activities. They have an onsite hair salon, and they have like a little cafe where you can use the internet. They also have like a little store, which is cute. They have like a lot of outdoor space. The staff was nice."

"The Tremont was a very nice place. If I decided to move in, I would like some place like that. However, the apartment was a little on the smaller side, and we were looking for a two-bedroom apartment. They had a nice dining room. They showed me other facilities they had and I was satisfied. The staff member during the tour was very knowledgeable, very nice, and courteous."

"I moved mom in last September. The facility is alright and I like the fact that they have activities for my mom. They have exercises, they go out for a walk, and they also play bingo. They have people there that are dedicated for what they were doing and there are others just for paycheck. She's in a shared room and I think it could be a little bit better. I chose this facility because of its proximity. "

"The rooms at Brookdale Island Lake were nice. It was almost like a little apartment with a refrigerator, a little counter, and a sink. So, you could probably put a microwave and heat stuff up in your room. It was a little more spacious where you can get a recliner, and a couch in there. All the staff were good. They showed us around. We were there at lunch time, so they were serving lunch. They said to come back if we could for dinner, but we were too busy to do that. It seemed cleaner than the other one. The floors were clean with larger rooms, and a bigger building. I don’t know about all of their activities. We were looking specifically for card games, and meeting with other people in the place. They have parties, and stuff like that. "

"Good Samaritan was probably be a good one if my parents were decided to that. My mother was on a rehab a couple of years ago at the same place. There’s either apartment or manufactured homes that they can live in, and they have transportation to the doctor and shopping; it was really nice. The staff was very good. I only saw the building with the apartment and then the manufactured homes. It was nice, and I have only been in to the inside of the rehab center. The dining room was spacious and clean. They have games and bingo. It is really secure, and it is kind hard to get out or come in; security is really good. I think they need more exits to come in or go out; it’s really big. "

"I am currently living in Good Samaritan Society Kissimmee Village. There are 6 levels of care here. You can start with a nurse visiting you, we have a certified nursing home, we have a wing for people who just came back from surgery, and it's excellent. It's one of the reasons my husband and I chose it; we can just use the facilities. They have an area for your own mobile home, you can buy the site but have it life-long. It's wonderful here, I love it. I like to cook, but the golf course café is excellent. Heritage Creekside is an independent retirement building, and the residents get 2 meals a day and they are served first, although they can also go in. And their meals are elegant, and the activities are marvelous. You can do as much activities as you want or as little as you want. The facilities are excellent but they're old, they need electrical wiring, although they just improved our independent water system. I would rate the value for money as a 5, some people might not agree but I do."

"My father-in-law is happy with Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village West. He's been there for years. He's in independent living, and he has his own apartment. It's been mostly good. He moved there for his wife's care who had Alzheimer's, but she has since died. He likes the social environment and relative independence. He's in a one-bedroom apartment. It has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and porch. It's ground floor. It's in a building that's nestled in some trees. It's very pleasant. It gets cleaned weekly, but generally, the grounds and the building, and the apartment are well kept. They did have a crisis with the hurricane where everybody had to leave and it was flooded. His apartment wasn't flooded, but a lot of the facility was flooded. He and everybody else was required to evacuate for a month, so that was kind of an inconvenience and a lot of people were not able to go back. There were trailers. It's a big facility, but his part was OK and it's well-maintained. He gets his meals there, and he's pretty pleased with the food. The dining area is quite nice. They have some exercise equipment. The computers are loaded with mental exercises and things like that. There are plenty of places to walk. He has access to a treadmill. He plays card games with other residents almost every day. They have a little chapel, so they have church services there and they have singing."
