"My Grandmother was well taken care of; despite the needs of all the other residents, it seemed there was always time for her needs as well. She suffers from dementia and the patience of the doctors and the staff are invaluable. The facility is well kept, clean and cozy, and the food they serve is easy to chew; though it is not always delicious. The low stress environment seems to be helping my Gamma a lot. She usually recognizes me and my brother when we visit her, and if she does not recognize us right away, she comes around with only a little prodding. Before she lived at Clare Bridge, she almost never recognized anyone in the family, nor did she interact with anyone in a meaningful way. She is still spacey and forgetful, but she has her spunk again. Clare Bridge speicalizes in dementia patients, and that focus on her specific needs has made all the difference. "

"Alura Senior Living was nice and clean. They have a lot of activities and they have a nice place where you can go out onto the patio. It's all secure. You can't get out. I was just a little disappointed that if my wife was to go there, I'd have to supply the furniture. In some places I've been to, the furniture's already available. It's a small thing, but what I didn't like was the idea that when my wife ran out of money, the woman said "We will help you find a Medicaid place." In other words, you find a Medicaid place and if we can help you, we can."

"We needed a place for Mom to live where we felt she would be safe and comfortable while able to maintain her independence. We found just that and more when we walked through the doors of Shell Harbor. We had looked at several other places in the Melbourne/Rockledge area and none compared. Taking the letters of Shell Harbor’s name, I will provide some anecdotal information about where Mom lives and thrives. SAFE – 24 hour Concierge on duty that provides exactly the safety we need and desire for our Mom. HOME – Shell Harbor truly feels like it is home for Mom rather than an institution. EXCELLENT – the Staff is excellent, the activities are excellent, the facility is excellent, the food is excellent. LIVELY – Shell Harbor has an Activity Director and Staff that keeps Mom and her friends and neighbors active, from puzzles every morning with the Concierge to Friday afternoon Happy Hours and everything in between. LOVELY – As you enter the building you see a beautiful water feature that is decorated with love and creativity depending on the season. You literally feel like you are on a cruise ship as you walk the halls. HAPPY – The number one important thing in this list is happiness, the Residents all seem Happy and just as important, the Staff all seem happy as well. ATTENTIVE – The Staff is quite attentive, this goes for everyone you come in contact including the Concierge, On Site Management Team (Husband and Wife Duo), Sales Director/Resident IT person, Kitchen/Dining Room, Housekeeping and Maintenance. RELIABLE – Shell Harbor is a reliable source for Mom’s comfort, happiness, well being and more. Every day we know that there are plentiful entertainment and activity options, dining options and as mentioned before the peace of mind knowing that Mom is safe. BENEFICIAL – Shell Harbor is beneficial to us as we know that Mom is cared for well and is living in an environment with peers that allow her to thrive. The benefits for Mom are almost too much to list but include the On Site Beauty Parlor, Transportation, Store/Pharmacy Delivery and Scheduled Events. OUTSTANDING – Overall Shell Harbor is truly outstanding! RESPONSIBLE – Shell Harber is a responsible decision that we have made along with Mom for her to live in comfort. They are responsible and caring for her and her friends and neighbors. We along with Mom are very happy with her living in Shell Harbor where she truly can live independently and not worry about things. Each day is a good day for her and her friends. "My friend will be moving into Century Oaks. I think it best suited my friend's needs. The facility was clean. The people were nice. The administrator was very informative and helpful. She was very accommodating of our time, and she wasn't rushing. She was very patient and repeated things when she needed to. My friend was able to tour it twice, and that was good. I think the thing we liked the most about it was that the independent apartment was large. It was a good size for someone coming into a place with their furniture. It was spacious. It had everything you needed. It had storage and a nice screened porch. The facility itself had about three different areas that you could go to just to get out of your room and socialize. There was a music room, a library, and a craft room with puzzles and other things that the residents could enjoy. Everyone was nice. One of the employees came out, and he greeted all the residents that were sitting out in the lobby area. He greeted them by name and greeted us."

"I toured Glenbrooke Senior Living. It was very nice. They had us tour their independent living fully furnished apartments. They had an upgraded version that had the granite. I said we're only going to be here for 2 or 3 months. I said, we could go with the lower finishes, but all the independent came with two bedrooms, and we were allowed to bring family members to visit. We could opt to get them meals also for an additional charge. This one included two meals. It included lunch and dinner. The apartments were very nice, and they had cleaning services once a week with linens and stuff. It had a washer and dryer in the apartment so we could do our laundry. It had a full kitchen. The dining room was very nice. And the person who had us tour, it was very nice. They answered all our questions. This was a little less expensive, but of course, this wasn't on a river. This was more inland. But it was lovely. And the food was good, and we didn't have any complaints. My husband liked this place. I had a Salisbury steak and my husband had fish. It wasn't gourmet food, but it was satisfactory because we had a chance to sample it. I can give you my opinion on that. It was a full dinner. It came with soup, a salad, a roll, the meal, and dessert and coffee, and it was certainly adequate. Maybe that's not everybody's cup of tea food-wise, but it was good."
