"I would put Lake Forest Park at the top. I really like it. There was room for our king-sized bed. We spent most of the time talking to the residents (which I really wanted to do), like how long they had been there and if they really liked it. We were in the area where we had buffet lunch, and they came around and talked to us. The upkeep looked good to me. People were out on their porches with their dogs. They're very friendly. They were showing people around. Their dining area was more like what I would call a campground. It was like a big screened-in dining room, and they had buffets. The buffet had different kinds of things. They had a lot of Greek salad, which I really like, and they had tacos for people who wanted tacos. You could go and get from different tables all kinds of food. I thought it was fun. I like it, and I like the fact that you could go and get different kinds of food from the buffet area. They said they were from caterers. It was some kind of an open house when we were there, and so that wasn't what they ordinarily ate. It's very formal. They have like costume parties and things like that. I asked if we got sick, could we have the nurse from the other area come over, and they said no. Assisted living was very different from independent living, and we would both be independent, and that was that."

"I checked out both independent and assisted living at Grand Villa of Palm Bay. What we drove up there certainly was beautiful to look at. It would be a very nice home to come to, to live. It looked very upper class. It looked very clean. It is right on the water, which makes it very pristine also. The grounds and everything outside were immaculate. When I came in I met the lady at the desk. My daughter was with me. She verified our appointment. We met the young lady that was taking us on the tour, and we went to lunch first. There was nothing special prepared for us. We were given the same menu that everybody else had, which was their daily menu and also whatever the special of the day was at lunchtime. My daughter had the special, and I chose just something off of the regular menu. I was very satisfied. The food quality was excellent. The portions and everything were really appropriate. They didn't overfeed you, and they certainly didn't starve you. The staff was extremely accommodating. I enjoyed them very much."

"Glenbrooke Senior Living was very clean. Justin has kept in touch with me, and he was very, very helpful. Their staff had been there for some years. I believe one of the staff members has been there for 11 years. They didn't have a big turnover as far as their staff goes. They were a little pricier, but for what they offered, I didn't have a problem with it. He showed me an apartment that was available, and it was on the third floor. They have elevators, which would be good for my father. He's pretty limited to his walking. One of the people who was staying there also did some of the maintenance. I thought it was nice that they're utilizing people's willingness to help out in different areas and things. If it were me, I'd like to feel needed. The dining area was very, very clean, and all the floors were shiny. I didn't see anything out of place, and I was very impressed with them."

"My parents moved into A Place Like Home. It's just a small facility and they're sharing a room in the facility. It seemed like the administrative staff was very caring and interested in trying to make the transition as smooth as possible. It's just a large, single-family home that has been converted into an assisted living facility. They've got four to six rooms, I'm not sure how big it was. It was very clean when I was there. They were very caring. The staff was going to try to have an outing with my father. I had spoken to the administrator about it as well, and they were going to try to get him out. The administrator worked with me on the monthly fee and we were able to come to an amicable conclusion on that, which I felt was very fair. It's not a large facility. So what they do is they bring in folks on a staggered basis to do certain things, like from what my understanding was, there will be a doctor on-site once, once every three weeks. There will be a nurse on-site once every three weeks. They have beauty care type things, for haircuts and things like that once every couple of weeks, so they're bringing people in to do the services as opposed to having somebody on site all the time because it's not a large facility."

"What can I say, Yvonne took the best care of my Mother. There is one on one interaction and Yvonne is very good with her patients. The facility which is a regular home is set up to par. The place is clean and you can see Yvonne takes great pride in her business. I thought my mother would only be there 6 months but ended up there for 3years. Will always refer Bater Assistant Living. "My mother is in the assisted living facility of The Fountains of Melbourne. It's a beautiful place, and in a quiet area, which is nice. It's not on a busy highway like a lot of them. The people are friendly and nice. My mother's apartment is beautiful, and she has a balcony. The food at the restaurant is also great. It just feels good for her to be there. She's well taken care of, and she has a necklace, if she needs any help. Around the bathroom and the hallway, there's also a button with a string on it in case she falls. It's just so nice. I wouldn't mind living there myself. She doesn't have to cook, clean, or do her laundry. It's just wonderful, nicely kept, and has beautiful landscaping. The pool area is gorgeous, and it's more like a resort than feeling like you're in an assisted living facility. The people there came a couple of times today to check up on her and see if everything's okay. It just gives peace of mind for the family. I've eaten there myself, and the food is delicious. It's like being in a first-class restaurant because the presentation is wonderful. I've only eaten there once. I had the lobster bisque and a turkey club, and it was great. When the ice cream comes out, they drizzle some chocolate on it. The presentation of the food is unbelievable. It's a very nice place and I can't imagine anybody who wouldn't like it. I don't encounter the staff like my mom does, but when we first got there, they had a little welcome party and answered all of our questions. The nurse comes in and checks up on my mom a couple of times a day. The cleaning woman makes her bed, and they take the trash out every day. They even took my mom to the hospital when she wasn't feeling well during the holiday. One of the staff members took her to the hospital, stayed with her, and brought her home."

"I toured Century Oaks. The staff there were very efficient. They were undergoing a lot of changes when I looked at the place, but I loved their larger apartments. It's beautiful, and their rates were lower, and they were closer to $3,000. A washer and dryer, a stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave were all supplied. The one thing that held me back was that I didn't see many residents. They just seemed to whiz by, no smiles, nothing, just on their motor scooters. You could tell they were semi-independent, at least. The cafeteria is large."

"My aunt is currently at Senior Paradise ALF. The community is beautiful, well-kept, and very clean. It's in immaculate condition. The staff are excellent. They're both very caring and very nurturing. They take them shopping and if they need to go anywhere. The dining area is very small, it's like a private house. So, it's a very homey atmosphere that you get. The dining area is very clean and family-oriented. My aunt is a vegetarian, so they make her special food."
