I visited this facility

Glenbrooke Senior Living was okay, but I like the other place better. I didn't like the way they had one big room, and everybody would go, but you still had to get dressed to go down there. It's not as private as the other place. The staff who gave the tour was nice, but I had seen more residents at the other place. I met some people, but they were not as friendly. The place was clean, and the structure was good, but they were gloomy to me. I didn't think I would enjoy living there every day. When I stepped in, it felt gloomy. You see people, but they are not as friendly. It was completely different.

I went to Glenbrooke Senior Living. I had a good walkthrough and got to see a model room. I went to one of their events. I don't think I ate there or anything when I was at the event, but it was good. I liked it. I liked the location and everything. It was a one-bedroom apartment that they showed me. I got to see the main area where they had the event, where they did some of their activities, and that type of thing.

I went to Glenbrooke Senior Living. I wasn't as impressed with it like the other facility that I visited. It seemed fairly nice, The person who gave the tour knew her stuff. They had some amenities, but they just weren't as nice. The toilets were fairly low. I didn't like that. That's not something you want to see in a home for the elderly. The people were very happy though. I talked to a couple of the people there and they seemed to be really enjoying themselves. So, it's a pretty okay place, but it was more expensive and didn't have nearly as nice a building. So, if that's what you get, it was overpriced. They have a swimming pool, but you have to go out of the building, cross the street, and go through another building to get to it.

I toured Glenbrooke Senior Living. It was very nice. They had us tour their independent living fully furnished apartments. They had an upgraded version that had the granite. I said we're only going to be here for 2 or 3 months. I said, we could go with the lower finishes, but all the independent came with two bedrooms, and we were allowed to bring family members to visit. We could opt to get them meals also for an additional charge. This one included two meals. It included lunch and dinner. The apartments were very nice, and they had cleaning services once a week with linens and stuff. It had a washer and dryer in the apartment so we could do our laundry. It had a full kitchen. The dining room was very nice. And the person who had us tour, it was very nice. They answered all our questions. This was a little less expensive, but of course, this wasn't on a river. This was more inland. But it was lovely. And the food was good, and we didn't have any complaints. My husband liked this place. I had a Salisbury steak and my husband had fish. It wasn't gourmet food, but it was satisfactory because we had a chance to sample it. I can give you my opinion on that. It was a full dinner. It came with soup, a salad, a roll, the meal, and dessert and coffee, and it was certainly adequate. Maybe that's not everybody's cup of tea food-wise, but it was good.

Provider Response

I went to Glenbrooke Senior Living. It was very nice. It's high on our list. The rooms were a nice size. The food was excellent. Abby was nice. She showed us around. She answered all the questions. Actually, she called me last night saying, 'How did you like the tour?' And I said, 'You're high on the list.' And she said, 'Well, what's not making us number one?' And I said, 'Our doctors are in Vero Beach, which is kind of a distance from Palm Bay.' So she said, 'Tell me the kind of doctors you're looking for, and I will do some research for some doctors in Palm Bay,' which I thought was excellent customer service. Their dining area was beautiful. Everything was up-to-date, nice, and clean. Everything looked newly painted. They were cutting down trees because the storm was coming, and they were taking care of the ground. It gave me a very good feeling. The staff gave us a calendar of activities, and it was jam-packed.

Provider Response

My parents have moved in. It's the one we chose because it has a high level of care. The building is nice and clean. The unit is really big. It's a two-bedroom and it's about a thousand square feet. It's just a nice facility. The staff is good. Everything is clean. Everyone is professional and friendly. There are a lot of activities and services onsite. We have had no complaints at all. We've been very pleased. My folks said the food is very good. As far as activities on site, they have prayer groups. My mom hasn't ventured out and hasn't been ready for socializing yet, but I know there are a ton of activities. Another thing that we like is there are shuttles for just about everything, for doctor's appointments, shopping, bank, post office, and all the stores that they could want to go to. They also have several options for church services that they can get transportation to, and that's been great. We've been pleased with that, too. The other thing that I like about it is that it's more affordable than some of the other places we went to. It's the right balance of high quality at a decent price. It's not cheap, but I feel like it's the best value.

We liked this place very much. We like the apartments very much. They are very spacious. They have activities that we like. They have a gym and a swimming pool. The person who attended to us was very nice. I tried their food, and it was very good. They had one swimming pool. I think the water was warm, but it was outside.

I visited this facility

We toured and like the two-bedrooms. They don't have any three-bedrooms. All they have are two-bedrooms, and the bedrooms are very large, so that appealed to us. We had the new director tour us, and she was very pleasant and informative. A lot of their activities, other than going to the mall or taking you to the doctors', were exercises and things like that. They have periodic social ice cream things. The cleanliness was very good. The master bedroom had a king-sized bed and still had plenty of room to walk around the bed.

Provider Response

Thank you for the positive review of The Glenbrooke, we take a tremendous amount of pride in our staff, community, and residents. We hope that you will choose to be a part of our community- If there is anything else that we can do for you to make the process of choosing a community easier, please give us a call!

It was a nice building. The outside was also nice with a very pretty landscape as you drove in. The girl who took me on a tour was very nice. What I liked the best about it was they had a lovely big clubhouse. They also had a pool. They just didn't provide all the meals and it was more expensive.

I toured for my mom. They were friendly, the place was clean, and it's a big facility with multiple levels. It was a three-story building. They had activities posted, they had bingo, and cards, they were doing puzzles in one room, and arts and crafts. The rooms had a kitchenette in it, some of them had working kitchens, and in others they shut the power to the stoves so it was there but not usable, depending on your needs. It was a nice facility just out of our price range.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I like my mom's location here, particularly, because she could be transported, or if she ever gets strong enough to get to the elevator, which is very close. It's only maybe a door or two away from her in particular, so it was just by luck she got that. There is a dining area on that same floor, which is also nearby. And if she wants, she could be transported there for her meals. They do encourage her to participate in other things and not stay in her room all the time. They also have a main dining room on the first floor and you could order right off the menu, or whatever you see that you like. If you have a visitor, you could invite them in for a very nominal fee, and they could also order off the menu with them. There are also good features there. There are call buttons throughout her apartment, which is only under 600 square feet, yet it's very adequate. It has a living room, then the kitchen area is big enough that you can move around very nicely. You don't have to cook because you have three squares that you could have. Then there's her bedroom and a bath with plenty of grab bars. And if those are not enough, they will allow me to have more grab bars installed. After she's been there a while and maybe she needs another grab bar elsewhere, I could have that done. They even give you the name of a place that could come out and do that in a day quickly. There's a walk-in shower with a very small lip to maintain the water inside. They will also watch her during her bath to make sure she doesn't slip. She has transfers that she could have for going to meals or out of her bed in the morning and put back in bed. Her medications are managed. Those features I do like. The room is bright. You could see below there are always people about. And just activities daily that they post on her door so that she could take part if she wants. The staff seems to be very attentive, they give you all the attention you need. They talk to you. If you have any questions or if you need anything, like when we had a drippy faucet, they came right away and took care of it. There are people down at the front desk that are very friendly and they direct people to various things if they need help. I think what they could do better is when somebody starts their time there, they could do a little bit more like a welcome committee, just to let you know that they are happy to see you. I think that fell through the cracks and I don't know why. Because they had told me there would be somebody from the staff to greet her, but there wasn't anybody. I did not try the food because I was not hungry, but it looked good. But my mom seems to be very happy with it. I haven't seen her do any activity yet. I did hear that there was an ice cream day, and they gathered up many of the seniors who wanted to participate. I know I saw directly across from my mother's apartment, she could get downstairs and go across, that there is an activity room that they've just refashioned. It has things going on in there and they tell them about it. It's a big place. They could do arts and crafts and play certain card games or bingo or whatever. There's even those casino one-arm, the thing where you put a coin in and you pull it and you hope to get lucky. My mother would like that if she would get herself down there just to play like she's gambling. There's the pool right behind there where family members can come to visit grandma and grandpa and the kids could swim with them. At this point I would say for sure they would have gotten a five-star rating had they done a better job of welcoming. I don't know if that happens normally or if they somehow skipped that. I've been to other ones to look at them, they were so pricey that only a very wealthy person could go to this spa-like environment. Whereas this one was kind of like for average people who had worked all their lives and set aside monies and can manage their bills. It would probably be best for someone who had a good cushion to have, otherwise, it could get very expensive if you do not have your own monies to work with.

It was very nice, but a little quieter than the other place. They had activities and a nice dining facility. The people were very nice. It was much smaller, but it was pretty. It was in a woodsy area, and it's a little more secluded. I only met two staff members there.

It is nice and clean. It's mostly for people that are a little bit stronger. I saw a lot of residents, and they were able to get around pretty good, but if you're not that able, I don't think it's a good place. They're in a room by themselves, and they have to go out in the dining room to eat. It's a bigger facility. The lady I talked to was like a salesperson trying to get you to sign. It's like a bunch of apartments, it's like two or three stories, and you have to ride the elevator. The dining area seemed nice.

It was an excellent place. The layout was excellent. It's a three-story building, and the apartments were great. The surroundings were more than adequate. If you have any mobility problems it has excellent walking trails. They have an exercise room and a great dining area that's like a restaurant. The staff was excellent.

My mother-in-law is a resident here and our experience so far has been good. Her room there is very nice and fully remodelled. The kitchen has granite countertops, it's in the main building which is good for her. The staff is fine and have been very helpful. I haven't had any issues with the staff.

The best community in Brevard county! My wife and I were pleasantly surprised and delighted with the facilities! Clean community, not oversized! We felt like we were at home, unlike some of the other older communities. The Fountains and Century oaks, just minutes away, couldn't hold a candle! The sales staff was very knowledgeable! Thank you. We will be signing our lease soon.. we look forward to it! Our soup and Lunch was delish and dining staff was professional!

It was very nice. The apartment we were looking at was beautiful. The apartments were a better sized than the others I have seen. It had a lot of amenities that we liked, and it was close to a sanctuary. There wasn't a view of the river which I love, so that was kind of one of the negatives about it. Most of the people were mobile, even if they were in a wheelchair. They can go outside and do what they like. There was a nice pool. We had lunch with our friends and the food seemed to be very nice, good, and well-prepared. The menu was diverse.

The tour was good, but it was not the right fit for us. I like the layout of the apartments. We looked at an independent living 2-bedroom, which was nice. There was quite a bit of storage space. It's very adequate. I know they offer assisted living too. They have lots of activities. They have exercises, a library, and crafts. They serve two meals a day. They offer housekeeping once a week and they do your sheets and towels once a week. They have a bus, but they only go within five miles.

We participate in several things, like discussion groups, entertaining groups, games, and church.

I think it was a wonderful facility. It's very nicely decorated, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. But my dad just didn't fit in there very well and he would get confused as to where his room was. They bring in musical artists every Friday afternoon, they have chair aerobics, a book club, and outings. They also have a swimming pool, a clubhouse where they do other activities, like arts and crafts, and even happy hour on Friday afternoons. They had a variety of things to do. I think they even have a Bridge club where they play cards. My mother-in-law is there.

It was OK. We liked it too, but we have preferred the other facility. The dining room seems to be OK; we had looked at them. We had looked at the entire facility -- assisted living and independent -- it seems OK. The room sizes were a little small for the most part, but the rest of the facility seems OK.

My aunt is here. The place is very clean, bright and very light. What I like best is that the staff is excellent, honest, understanding and accommodating. We are able to work out a meal plan. Their food is good. They did the supervision of my aunt very well. She's in a two-bedroom apartment. They go out to see movies. They go out shopping. They have arts and crafts. They have sing-a-long. They have everything there.
