I visited this facility

The Promenade was very nice and very clean, and the people were friendly. It was a nice tour, but it was overpriced for me. The place is only four or five years old. They had a salon and a little courtyard. The staff during the tour was very good, knowledgeable, and very friendly. The place was fairly new. Everything was in good shape. They got a nurse there. It seemed like they took very good care of the people that were there. I got to see other residents, not from the memory care unit, but residents who could get in and out around the grounds and stuff.

I went to The Promenade and had lunch there. I liked everything about it. The food was excellent. They took us on a whole tour. They do all kinds of activities. They have nice rooms. I don't have anything bad to say about it. If I needed to go there, I would pick that. One thing I liked about it is you're not locked in. If you go there, say, in three months, you don't like it, you can leave. I met the chef. He's a five-star chef. What we had for lunch was excellent. They had a big courtyard. They've always got activities. I've been invited since I left there to come to visit. They have a lot of different areas where you can meet and have coffee. They have a laundry room if you like to do your own laundry. You can have pets. Everybody was just unbelievably friendly. I was impressed.

First of all the food is wonderful and Chef Mike is absolutely the best! The staff is always there to help. We have lots of activities and enjoy live music frequently. I also enjoy Happy Hour every day at 3:30 in the outside courtyard. I love exercising and playing Bingo and miscellaneous games. We also watch movies in the theater. They even bring me on the bus to my doctors appointments. I love living here!

The Promenade is a great facility. My mom raves about the food and the staff is Beth kind. I visited her during the 4th of July and there was a huge party outside. The nurses are caring and she loves the jewelry making class. Thank you Promenade.

The Promenade is a beautiful establishment and the prepared food on site competes with a 4 or 5 star restaurant. However over the last 1 year an 8 months there has been a revolving door of staff leading to many inconsistencies in nursing care and medication assistance. There has been 3 executive directors which all have failed the establishment. The current executive director appeared to be knowledgeable in the beginning however her lack of candor is less than desirable and we are forced to communicate with other staff in a round about way to receive adequate care. My feeling is if the staff are taken care by management and appropriately compensated financially they will feel more vested to the establishment

The most favorite thing I love about the Promenade is hands down the food. Chef Mike- just mention his name and the residents turn their heads and say, what’s he making? He surprises us quite often but never disappoints us. Feeding 100 residents is not an easy task and he rarely fails to feed us all. The hungriest, from vegetarians to meat lovers to fish haters. It has to be a challenge to follow the dietary direction of a professional dietitian and hungry residents from all points of the world. There are Mexican meals, Southern Cooking, Boston and Texans Specialties and DON’T FORGET NEW YORK! Mike never fails his residents and always comes up with something delicious. Amazingly the kitchen staff finds that he is a joy to work with. His kitchen runs like a well oiled machine. The staff comments that he is wonderful to work with. Mike is most proud of his profession and will never hesitate to say, “I can’t do it that way, I am Chef”. Thank you to all of the Promenade Staff!

My older sister moved into assisted living at The Promenade about 45 days ago. I was scared to death, but the Marketing Director and the Move-in coordinator walked me through every step of the process beforehand and helped me complete all the documentation needed. The rest of the staff stepped in to make sure my sister felt loved and cared for. I can't say enough about the Chef and his staff also. They are top notch, using fresh ingredients, not canned or over processed. They also allow pets.

The tour was very well done. I'm hoping to be a resident here in the future. Sherri knew the answer to every question I asked and introduced me to other helpful employees. The apartments are pretty good sized, and everything is bright and cheerful. All of the residents appear well assisted and happy. Seems like a great place to live. I even got cookies to take home.

The pricing at The Promenade was very nice as far as the quality. The living quarters were nice. There was a nice walk-in shower with bars on all three walls. The leap getting into the shower was only like a half of an inch off the floor, and I've never seen a shower like that, but it was so nice. It was big, so there's plenty of room for her to get in there and an attendant or assistant to help her while she's in there. The bathroom is very nice and well situated, full room for someone to go in with a wheelchair. They have emergency pull cords. You could roll a wheelchair right up to the sink, and you could get your knees up under the sink. They had a little efficiency and a nice refrigerator. They provided free WiFi, cable, TV, three meals a day, and snacks. It seemed like they had good care. They do allow pets. The staff members were very nice and accommodating. We went during lunchtime so we could have a meal with what they normally have, and it was very good. The chef came out and introduced himself to us. It was like going to a restaurant.

The Promenade was nice. I saw a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment. It was nice to see all the facilities, meet some of the residents, and see some of the activities. The people were really friendly. The lady who gave me the tour was great. They had a library and a barbershop/hair salon. I did not get the chance to have a meal there, but I was invited to come back for their Cinco de Mayo festival event.

The Promenade was nice and clean, and the staff was helpful. It was a little more expensive than the other place we visited. It has a lovely restaurant and dining facility, activities room, and such, similar to what the other place has. They showed us rooms and they were clean and nice. It's a newer facility. They have a bus for outings.

The Promenade was horrible. People were sleeping outside. There was no one interacting with any of the residents that we could see. We waited more than 28 minutes, and no one came to check on us. We were just walking around. It's not a safe facility. When we were at the other residence, they called us at that point, and they said, 'Oh, were you here?' No one came to see what we were doing. No one bothered to say, 'We'll be back in 5 minutes.' No one said anything. They called us hours later wanting to talk to us about seeing the facility, but nope, it was not a good facility. It was adequate, but nowhere near the cleanliness of the other residence home that we visited. We went to the courtyard and everything else like that. There didn't seem to be anyone around. You could just walk into the building, so that wasn't good.

The Promenade was clean and well-appointed. They had a theater, a salon, and PT. It was very well taken care of. The only reason we didn't pick that place was that the television situation was a problem. They only had TV outlets in the living room, not in the bedroom where my mother would want to watch her television, and they didn't have any kind of extended cable package that she could purchase.

My dad moved into The Promenade. The staff is extremely attentive and very knowledgeable. They've been just wonderful helping him get accustomed and getting used to it. He loves the food and says that the food has been fantastic. He also loves that he was able to bring his two small dogs with him. They have a full calendar every day and he is excited about the bingo and the card games. He hasn't gone to any of them, but he's excited about the availability of the different kinds of programs. The only thing that we've had trouble with is getting a phone line in here. They have a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink. There are no appliances other than that. They come and do your wash, and they clean once a week. Two loads of laundry are included with your monthly fee. He was thrilled when he got here. He really, really liked it. I called a lot of other places, and this was the only one that accepted his puppy, and that was his deciding factor.

I love The Promenade. It's built in a courtyard style. They're right on a very busy highway. All of the hallways had windows on both sides. None of the other places were that bright and light, and I think that makes a real difference in these hallways. Out of all of the places we visited, this was the only place where residents stopped us and asked us if we were looking for a family member. They told us how much they would love it there. We were fed there an entire meal. They have the two special choices of the day. My friend got the chili, and I got the mahi. It was excellent. It is so easy to overcook mahi, but it was spot on. The chef came out himself. There's dessert. Then on the other side of the menu, there are like 15 items that are always available if you don't like the two offerings. The food was so good. They had a private dining room, which was where we ate in. You can hold family parties there. I liked the fact that as long as you're of an adult age (my grandson is 18), any one of us can come and get mom if we are on the list. It's a beautiful facility. The entire place is brand new. They had the best gyms I've seen anywhere with multiple choices of equipment. They had physical therapists in house.

Provider Response

Leslie, Thank you for the wonderful review of our community. Our dining room and chef are at the heart of our community- we are glad to hear that you loved it!

I like The Promenade. It's very attractive and the people were very nice. I just wished their apartments had more closet space and a slightly bigger kitchen. I know it was an assisted living apartment and you're not supposed to have a kitchen, but I just liked it a little bit more. I wish they had outdoor spaces too. They did not have a pool, but they have exercises, bingo, card games, and very nice staff.

My father is moving into The Promenade. Everything is new. He is being assessed tonight, so I'm hoping that we are moving in tomorrow. They were my first choice, but became my second because of money. It's a little more expensive than others, but I've got nothing but great response from them. They have only been open for two months now and they only have six patients in the memory care, so I think my father would be better off there. The management seems to be right on the ball with things. Right now, I have no complaints. The rooms are brand spanking new. My father is going to be the first resident in his room. It's a regular sized studio, it has a private bathroom, and it's very nice and very clean. The facilities are very nice. They have an activity room, a nice area where the memory care patients eat, and a nice outside courtyard just for memory care patients. The nurse's station is right there. It's set up like a square, and they have a nice big TV room and couches. It's very homey. The staff is very cordial. Everybody is professional and very friendly. I met quite a number of people, and I was impressed with them. I have been told that they have a nice menu, and they have several choices on it for seniors. The facility itself was very nice and very appealing to the eyes, and it looked very clean. The kitchen area and all that was very clean looking.
