The Best Assisted Living Communities in Saint Lucie County, FL

"I would put Lake Forest Park at the top. I really like it. There was room for our king-sized bed. We spent most of the time talking to the residents (which I really wanted to do), like how long they had been there and if they really liked it. We were in the area where we had buffet lunch, and they came around and talked to us. The upkeep looked good to me. People were out on their porches with their dogs. They're very friendly. They were showing people around. Their dining area was more like what I would call a campground. It was like a big screened-in dining room, and they had buffets. The buffet had different kinds of things. They had a lot of Greek salad, which I really like, and they had tacos for people who wanted tacos. You could go and get from different tables all kinds of food. I thought it was fun. I like it, and I like the fact that you could go and get different kinds of food from the buffet area. They said they were from caterers. It was some kind of an open house when we were there, and so that wasn't what they ordinarily ate. It's very formal. They have like costume parties and things like that. I asked if we got sick, could we have the nurse from the other area come over, and they said no. Assisted living was very different from independent living, and we would both be independent, and that was that."

"The Brennity at Tradition had full kitchens, which is nice, but they only offer two meals a day. The staff was wonderful. My brother and I got invited to something that they were having that night, an entertainer, and they told us to come back and check it out. The food was wonderful. Everything was clean. They had big rooms. It was just a little bit more expensive. Everybody was wonderful."

"I like that The Harrison of Stuart is clean and organized. I got there at lunchtime and the menu looked good. They have a lot of personnel. They have a lot of activities. I like the room. I only talked to the one person who gave the tour. He explained everything. The people were really good."

"I liked this facility very much. I was planning on going there, but I decided I was going to stay home. The people who work there are very pleasant. Shereen was the one who took me around. The place was really nice. I liked everything about it. The apartments were bigger than I thought they were. They have a thing that you can pull in each room, and you can be wearing a pendant if you need help. The dining room looked nice. It's clean, comfortable, and friendly. Shereen was fantastic. It's three floors. I didn't realize that on my second trip, but there's an elevator that takes you downstairs, which is great. They have a room for veterans, which I am. So, that was nice. They play bingo and have a lot of amenities for the seniors who live there."

"I appreciate Sodalis for taking good care of my aunt. She doesnt need me as much and i can go back home with peace of mind that she is being taken care of. My aunt says it is comfortable, staff is wonderful and it is a very nice place to be"

"The building of Brookdale Stuart is newer. The rooms are smaller, but they're immaculate and they're all updated. As a resident moves out, they redo the rooms completely. So, it has fresh paint, new carpeting, and everything. It's an excellent facility."

"We decided to move my parents to Symphony at Stuart because the room was bigger and the people were nice. The staff is very attentive and friendly. They have different activities going on all the time. They have activities every week, sometimes three times a week. They have crafts, a cooking class, a gym, and people who come to sing, play music, and dance. They have happy hours on Friday. They just had a tea party and Mardi Gras this past week. The food is not that great, but they're improving on that because there's been a lot of complaints about the food being overcooked. They keep the facility nice, clean, and neat. We're getting what we pay for, so the price is okay and right for them, but some people might not be able to afford to live there."

"We visited the assisted living facility of Brookdale Vero Beach South for my parents. They offered everything that we were looking for, and there was nothing about it that I thought really needed to be improved. I thought it was a wonderful experience visiting there. I think the best of what they have to offer is care. The amount of care that is included in the rent is very good. The woman who is the director was wonderful with the tour and the interview. She asked the right questions and told us everything that we wanted to know. It went very well. It was just a comforting experience for us. She went above and beyond with just the informational part. The size of the rooms was smaller than another facility we toured, but they weren't so small that they were too confining or anything like that. It's all up to the individual. The rooms were very suitable for anybody, but with my parents, there would be two people in that room. That's something we're still looking to see if it'll work right now as it stands. I think it probably would, but we also have to consider the budget. They have just about everything you can think of, and if it's not on the premises, they have an activities bus that takes people. I have a calendar of their activities for the month of September, and there are five or six things going on every day. There are Tuesdays when the shuttle bus goes to the county library. There's another day they go to the shopping mall, I'm guessing the big mall, and there are a variety of other outings that they go on. There are also people coming in quite often for entertainment. My parents are religious people and wanted to see if there was a Catholic service, and there is. They had a lot of little things that they thought about that really were of value or of importance to the clientele. I haven't tried the food, but I did tour the restaurant, and we did see the menu. I know for a fact that they have fully trained chefs at each of their communities, because they do have several. When I say trained chefs, they don't just hire anybody who can open up a can and pop it in a microwave. They have people who are actually culinary school-trained cooks and dietitians on staff. The upkeep of the place is also immaculate."

"I like the idea that Castlewood Assisted Living Residence is really sunny and bright with lots of light. I can be outside, and I'll be able to use my walker there. They serve three meals a day plus a snack. Somebody will help me do anything I need them to do, and I get to do my crochet. The staff that I saw over there seems to be really good. People are really friendly. They're real nice. They stopped and talked to me, and introduced themselves even before they knew I was going to be there. The room is big and there's lots of space. They told me I could bring anything I wanted as long as it was small. I don't know if they have anybody else with diabetes. I did ask if my diet would be considered and they said absolutely, they would make sure that I get what I need. The dining area is very spacious. It's got places where there are tables for four, and then there's another smaller dining area that has a bigger table where more people can sit, and they have some places where you can sit by yourself. There's a hair salon and a nail salon. I'm excited about the hair salon. I can have somebody wash my hair for me because I can't do it. The facility appears to be very clean. They were going from room to room to make the beds and stuff when we were there. It smelled clean, but it didn't have that bleach smell. I can't do the Clorox. I get a headache. I have asthma and bleach sets me off."

"I liked it very much. Our tour experience was very good. We got there a little bit before lunchtime, so there was a lot of activity going on outside of the dining room. They had a nice hospitality center. So, you could have some iced tea or a cup of coffee, which was nice for the people waiting as well as the visitors. The view was nice. It was open and airy. I liked it. I had a companion with me and we ate there. There was a table and the tour guide directed us to two ladies that were sitting. They were very nice ladies. They were very welcoming and very informative and we had a very nice meal. The company and the food were excellent. The tour guide was filling in for somebody, but she did an OK job. They had a screened-in balcony, a very nice pool, and lots of meeting places. It was very clean. They had a full kitchen in the one bedroom, washer and dryer hookups, and a lot of closet space. So, I liked their rooms."

"I toured Hidden Lakes Senior Living Community. I like it. It's very nice, very cordial, and very helpful. I like the staff. They're very nice people and very cooperative. The apartment was gorgeous. It was really nice. The two-bedroom-two-bath is a really nice apartment. Really gorgeous. They have a clubhouse-type thing. It was really nice. We can eat there and have little parties or get-togethers and whatnot. They're really sweet people. They're great people. I enjoyed talking with them. They're easy to talk to. I enjoyed them. The place is well-kept and clean. It's clean and well-maintained."

"My tour of Sodalis Vero Beach's assisted living was really good. It was very well organized and very clean. The staff was very happy, professional, and friendly. The residents seemed very happy and friendly, as well. I did not try the food, but the menu looked very high-level."

It was up to date and wasn't old. It wasn't old furniture or anything like that. It was very neat and clean, and the facilities were nice and luxurious. I'd live there. The lady who gave the tour was very congenial."
