"Century Oaks is bigger than other places and so is my apartment. The employees are very nice and a big help. The food is OK, but they can improve some of it. I have a 2-bedroom with two full bathrooms and a full kitchen. The place has everything you could think of and more. The pricing is very low compared to others, and you get your money's worth at this place. They’re also good at raising the rent. There's no cap whatsoever on it."

"I chose The Fountains of Melbourne for my aunt. The two places I visited were both a very tight choice, but The Fountains was a little bit busier for more activities. They had a health fair going on when we toured. It was very active. There's a lot of things for them to do. The tour showed activity places and dining. The activities facility and the things that they offered for people to do were great. They had cards, sitting around socializing, movies, and books. The staff was very pleasant. Everybody was chatty. The staff people came up and talked to us, "Oh, you're visiting, how nice!" I looked at both assisted living and independent, but my aunt will be in independent. I wanted to make sure that there was a place that went from one to the other without me having to move her again."

"My stepmom will move into The Brennity at Melbourne. I like the dining room layout and the social areas, such as the bar, where they do social gatherings. When we were there, they had a musician playing a guitar and singing some Motown music, and the room was full of people enjoying the musician. They have entertainment fairly often. She ate there twice, and her son ate there once with her. She enjoyed the food and very much liked the room that she selected. The layout was nice. It was 883 square feet, one bedroom, a beautiful layout, a nice kitchen, a nice laundry room, a walk-in closet, and plenty of room for her to bring a few things. It was an excellent choice for her. It was the largest of their one-bedroom units, but we liked it because the layout is ideal. The staff was good. The intake and signing of the contract were good. They also offered another on-site company unrelated to them that offered additional services as needed, which was very good."

"We have chosen it for my brother. When you walk into this facility, it will knock your socks off. It was gorgeous. The facility was almost brand new. It was very clean, with nice wide hallways and an elevator. It was more affordable than where he is now. I met some of the residents and they were very nice. I took my brother over there too, and he met one resident that was a veteran like he is. They had a veteran's wall, which was nice. They had a beautiful view of the river. They had choices for meals, so it was not the same meal for everybody. They had a choice of two meals at dinner. They also have a canteen type of setup that's open all day long, if you want a hamburger or grilled cheese or a drink. They had way more activities than where he is now. They had a gym, a movie theater, and a swimming pool. Their dining room was gorgeous. They had a menu actually on the dining room table for the residents to see what they were having that day. They had two choices for a 1-bedroom with a separate bathroom. They had a kitchenette in each room with a nice-sized refrigerator. If you have someone in memory care that you would like to have a caregiver with, they have a 2-bedroom in memory care, for someone to be there with the resident all the time. The staff who gave us the tour tried to give us choices. She told us that if my brother wanted a 1-bedroom and had a good friend that would want to be there, then it would cost less for the two of them to be in the 1-bedroom she gave us. She thinks outside the box, which is a good thing. She tried to give us different ways to lower the cost, to make his money go further."

"I was able to visit, and the place was very nice, clean, and pretty. The little apartments were nice as well. The grounds are all very nice with swimming pool and good landscaping. "

"We visited Palm Cottages, the people were great. The place was very clean, professional, and very modern. The place has a positive and uplifting atmosphere. They have a beauty shop, all kinds of activities, and they have a very nice common area for the residents. Everything was very clean. They also have transportation to different things which was good."

"The thought of moving from Assisted LIving to Memory Care was daunting. However we could not have made a better choice. Alura and its staff provide a safe and secure environment for our loved one and offer amazing activities to engage them in fun, entertaining and enriching events. A recent planned afternoon visit by a hired Elvis impersonator had the entire unit hooting and clapping to the music. It was unbelievable how alive the residents in memory care became the moment the entertainer stepped in. Memory issues? Not that day, everyone was signing the words, lots of dancing (wheel chairs and all) and even a peanut butter and banana sandwich snack. Kudos to Mary and her team for putting this together and for making a very MEMORABLE experience for the residents and their families."

"The Promenade is a beautiful establishment and the prepared food on site competes with a 4 or 5 star restaurant. However over the last 1 year an 8 months there has been a revolving door of staff leading to many inconsistencies in nursing care and medication assistance. There has been 3 executive directors which all have failed the establishment. The current executive director appeared to be knowledgeable in the beginning however her lack of candor is less than desirable and we are forced to communicate with other staff in a round about way to receive adequate care. My feeling is if the staff are taken care by management and appropriately compensated financially they will feel more vested to the establishment "

"I moved my Mom into Sonata about six months ago and it's been one of the best experiences ever. From the sales department, to nursing to the food, everything has been top notch. It's like being on a cruise every day, always good food, always activities going on and friendly faces in every corner. "

"We had a really good tour at Victoria Landing. The staff member was very friendly, outgoing, kind, and very thorough. The apartments were very spacious, they have a 1-bedroom apartment, a 2-bedroom apartment, and studios. The hallways were wide and carpeted. They have little signs on the doors with emblems for whichever branch the resident is in since they have lots of people from the military. The library has a fireplace, they have a pool, and they have grounds where you can walk your dog. It's really lovely. There's also a beautiful lanai overlooking the river with tables and chairs, and you can eat your lunch there. They have a dining room that's like a bar. They assign the residents tables so they can get acquainted with other people. Everyone's lovely, and they speak to you when you pass them in the hall."

"Enclave is a small facility. They're all women in a private home. The girl that runs it has another home just for men. I like her philosophy and she is more caring. Mom has her own room. They took very good care of her. She was also getting UTI, but they were really good. No problems with cleanliness. "
