"The Promenade was nice and clean, and the staff was helpful. It was a little more expensive than the other place we visited. It has a lovely restaurant and dining facility, activities room, and such, similar to what the other place has. They showed us rooms and they were clean and nice. It's a newer facility. They have a bus for outings."

"My wife has been in Alura Senior Living for a week now. It's a very nice place. I would recommend this to anybody if their insurance and everything would cover much of the cost. In fact, I was going to move in there with her, but I really can't do that. I have a nice home and a woodworking place, and I just couldn't see giving it up. My wife is in assisted living and the area that she has to be in is where she can get some kind of care like helping her go to the bathroom and things like that. The overall experience is excellent. She has absolutely no complaints. My wife's room has a limited kitchen. It has a sink, a microwave, and storage for equipment. The place is immaculate. And any changes you need, they're willing to go the extra mile to try to satisfy it. The dining area is very nice. They have good food, but my wife was an excellent cook. That was one of her pride and joy when she was not in this condition. So they bring things that she doesn't necessarily want to eat because they didn't meet her standards. However, they've got everything available anytime you need it. Like if you wanted to have ice cream in the middle of the night, you could get it."

"There are a few things that I like about Hidden Lakes Senior Living Community. I like the layout and I like that it's an apartment style. I like the community closeness of the residents and I thought the services they offer were very generous for the price. The whole building is like an H shape and it's a line of apartments. You step out of the apartment and it's all screened-in, like a lanai, so they can sit outside their apartment and enjoy the wildlife. It's all grass and mature trees. I think it's very, very homey for that reason. It's not like a hotel, which a lot of them are these days. I met a number of the residents as well as the staff. The residents were all very, very pleased and the staff was very, very welcoming. I loved the activities director. She was fantastic. I thought she was wonderful."

"My mom was about to move into Cristal Palace, but at the last minute, they said that she needed too much care that they won’t be able to provide. It’s pretty, clean, well kept, bright, and sunny. The people looked happy. I didn't have complaints about that. The people eat in the dining area where they watch TV. The person that toured us was a big help. I really wanted to put my mother in, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out. "

"I like Bethesda on Turkey Creek. However, there's a big hill, and I could see my sister trying to go down that hill in her wheelchair. But they assured me they would keep a good eye on the residents. Also, people aren't allowed to go out by themselves. Everybody seemed friendly. The residents appeared to be happy. They all were enjoying themselves. They were enjoying their lunch. And when I came back the second time, they were playing bingo, and everybody was having fun. The staff was very friendly. The facility appeared very good. It was all clean. I saw two separate rooms, and both of them were good. However, my sister fell a lot, and since the room had a kitchen, I could see her trying to stand up, to get the cupboards, etc., and falling. So even though it is an extremely nice room, I don't think it's right for my sister. Their dining area was very nice. It was spread apart so the people in wheelchairs had easy access to get through and get around tables and stuff. The food looked good, too. Overall, the friendliness of the staff is what I like best about this community."

"Buena Vida has exceeded my expectations over the last 3 years. The menu offers many choices and tastes very good. The landscaping makes every view pleasant. The common areas are inviting. I participate in many activities including exercise, watercolor class, and bridge. Quality entertainment is regularly scheduled and so are parties. "

"I had a very good tour at Trinity Towers East and West. The place was very clean, and the apartment unit was excellent. They had central air conditioning to control the climate and heat in each unit. We only saw an efficiency apartment because that was the only one that they could show us. They don't serve food there. The staff was very nice, and all the people that we ran into were very courteous and very friendly. They had a library, a conference room, a utility room with a washer and dryer, a garbage dump room, and a central mailbox. They had a 24/7 guard down in front, plus they had call buttons in every apartment in the living room and the bathroom."

"My friend is a resident of Trinity Towers East. They're very friendly at the front desk. They do lots of activities for the seniors. The building is kept very clean. The apartments are very nice and have an income base, so it's a plus. They overturned quite a bit on staff, so it's not like you get to know who the staff is because they stay for a bit and are not there. Other than that, they're still courteous. The facility is appealing to the eye. I have not attended the activities, but it looks like everyone's happy. They get a lot of value for their money. When you pay rent, utilities are included. It's Wi-Fi and TV, so they have that included. A flexible rent-to-income was the main thing that got my friend in there."

"I’m living at The Harmony at Sonata. I’ve had a recent surgery, and I am being taken care of very well here. After coming out of the hospital, I need to be around people that know me and I know them, and I feel very comfortable here. Everything is wonderful; I have no complaints whatsoever. The staff is very nice and very caring. They check on you frequently and follow-up on any complaints you have. There are 3 sections. There’s The Viva which is unassisted, there’s The Harmony which is assisted, and then they have another one for people with memory problems and Alzheimer's. They keep you busy; they play horseshoes. They have writer’s corners; I just finished a poem for them. Every time you’ll eat, you have 2 things you could eat and they have a third menu which is hotdogs, hamburgers, and ham sandwich. I’m very happy where I am. "

"Indian Oaks is a nice, closely knit community where you have your own independent living, but you have neighbors close by with similar interests and lifestyle. There is a large swimming pool where they offer some exercise classes. There are also activities in their recreation center. They take care of maintaining the grounds as well as pest control too. They can also take care of some of the house repairs. I was very impressed because it seems to meet the criteria I am looking for. "

"I visited and they were wonderful, courteous, and patient. Everything was wonderful. The rooms had giant walk-in closets, but I couldn’t get through the door with my wheelchair; the doors were too small. I’ve never seen a walk-in closet that huge, and there were two of them, but I couldn’t get through the doors. They were like 24-inch doors, and my wheelchair is probably at least 30 inches, so I would have to do some major renovations. They also did not have washer-dryer hookups. The community washer-dryer was a small room without front loaders, and being in a wheelchair, I need a front loader. I had a meal there, and it was excellent. The dining was excellent, and all the residents were very friendly. "

"Indian River Estates is where my dad lives. He's been there for 15 years and he loves it. It's wonderful, and the nice thing is that if you want to visit any of the other ones, they have apartments that you can stay in. So when my dad goes to visit my aunt, he stays in one of the apartments. He doesn't pay for it. He just uses his meal card there, so there's no extra cost. When people come to visit, the cost added on for a meal is like a dollar or $2 or $4 for lunch. It's so reasonable. I just can't be happier for Dick's parents that they just chose the same facility. It's a much larger property, a little bit more out in the country. They offer a lot. They have the newest, highest quality nursing home there. When you go inside, it looks like you're at a Disney resort. There are different wings with different names, like the Sea Cove. You would think that you were in the highest end resort, and that's all included with the price of life care there. If you know of anybody who can get up there to take a picture, that would be worth it. It's just beautiful. They also have garden homes and condos, a lot of different property choices. Dad has a 3200 sq.ft. 3-bedroom apartment that he's been in. Every time I come up to visit, the staff treats everyone extremely professionally. I know all of the nurses and everyone on the property because my dad has been there so long. I go up there and stay for a while. I might go down to the arts and crafts room and hang out for a little while. I make it my second home. "
