My sister has been at the Fountains of Melbourne. It's good. She likes the living facility. She likes the apartment. She likes the people. It is a bigger apartment, and it has a balcony overlooking a lake, which is the basic reason she moved into there versus any other. The staff is very friendly and caring. They have a lot of activities during the day for the people that live there. There's always something going on for the people that live there to participate in if they choose to. My sister likes the food.

I like The Fountains of Melbourne very much. Everybody seems to be very friendly. The residents are very friendly and active, too. I like the setup where every room has a sort of a little balcony. So if you want to get some fresh air, you don't have to go completely outside to get it. That was one thing that I was looking for. And even though I was taking a tour, everybody was friendly. I like the way the dining room was set up. It makes you feel at home. When I stepped in, I noticed that some of the residents were around, and everybody was clean. There was no funny smell like you get at some nursing home. Everybody was friendly. Even the residents would say, 'Hello, good morning.' You don't see anybody in a wheelchair in a corner. Everybody was talking and socializing. That's one of the things that I noticed and liked.

I went to The Fountains of Melbourne. It was exquisite and very pricy. Everyone was very interested in what I had to say, my input, and the level of care I needed. Everyone acted very professional. The food was very, very good. It's exceptionally clean.

I toured The Fountains of Melbourne. The food is a little bland. I didn't see any staff. All I saw was the lady who took me on a tour. I didn't see anybody working or anything. They had everything that you would want. The facility was great.

I toured The Fountains of Melbourne. The staff was excellent. The facility was very clean, very well taken care of, and up-to-date. The food was superb. They had a lot of networking with local businesses that could bring good things to their residents. They're very active with the community and the residents there seemed to be very content with their environment. I liked the fact that all the units have screened-in porches. They've got a whole lot of stuff to do. All the meeting rooms were very nicely appointed. They had a courtyard, a gym, a pool, a shuffleboard, and pickleball.

The lady from The Fountains of Melbourne gave me a tour of the place and she was great. She showed me the unit that I was interested in (and everything else) and answered pretty much all my questions. The building looked great. They were redoing the front part of it where you come in and it looked nice and clean. I have a dog and they would allow dogs, but you had to be on the first floor. They also provide two meals a day.

I chose The Fountains of Melbourne for my aunt. The two places I visited were both a very tight choice, but The Fountains was a little bit busier for more activities. They had a health fair going on when we toured. It was very active. There's a lot of things for them to do. The tour showed activity places and dining. The activities facility and the things that they offered for people to do were great. They had cards, sitting around socializing, movies, and books. The staff was very pleasant. Everybody was chatty. The staff people came up and talked to us, "Oh, you're visiting, how nice!" I looked at both assisted living and independent, but my aunt will be in independent. I wanted to make sure that there was a place that went from one to the other without me having to move her again.

The Fountains of Melbourne was a very nice place. It was my second choice. It was a little pricier, but it's very clean and very friendly. All of the residents had smiles on their faces. They had a lot of activities and it seemed like a lot of people were in the workout room and in the crafts room. Some were playing cards. It seemed like they have a lot of people that hang around together and they all interact with each other. Anna was the one in charge and who gave us a tour. She was a very nice girl. She bent over backwards to do whatever I needed to get my mom into that place. Their rooms were quite a bit bigger. Every room had a screened-in patio (if you're above the first floor) or a screened-in porch (if you're on the first floor). So, you get your own porch or patio out to look out over the trees.

The Fountains of Melbourne was a bit newer and a little bit more of a modern building. They have an outdoor swimming pool and the people were nice. One thing I did like is that most of their one-bedroom units also had what they called a den along with it. It's not a full-size bedroom, but a room that you could put a couch in that could be made into a bed and that kind of thing if you needed to. I toured their independent living and the only reason I'm backing it off of a perfect rating is that they had a centralized laundry. It's per floor, but it was centralized rather than laundry within the units. I didn't have food there but they asked me if I wanted to and I had just eaten before meeting with them so I turned them down. The food thing is a bit complicated because they only offered two meals a day. You could buy the extra meal on a monthly basis though if you wanted. They had a swimming pool and an exercise room there. Since it's warm here in Florida, it was an outside pool, and I guess it could be heated, too. Other than that, they had two standard reading rooms, computer rooms, library type of thing and all that. They also have a hairdresser. It's pretty much the same things available in the other places.

I went to look at The Fountains of Melbourne. It was very clean. All the people were very friendly. They had a lot of entertainment for someone. The ability to eat when you wanted to, the choices were very good for you. It was a beautiful place. The scenery around it was gorgeous. The staff was very, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and answered any of my questions. The parking was too far for a walk. They have little screen porches outside your apartment, a swimming pool, and a court area that you can just go out and sit.

The apartment at Fountains of Melbourne was nice and spacious. I have not seen a senior room this spacious before, it's a 2-bedroom. The amenities are close at hand, and it will make it easy for them to still enjoy living and participating in various activities. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. It's just a very nice place overall. The surroundings are very beautiful and very welcoming. The people were very friendly. They were waving at my dad. I just think that they will be very comfortable and be able to make friends. I think they will actually thrive there and not be isolated. We had breakfast there, and the dining area was absolutely beautiful. They get served three meals a day, so they don't have to worry about cooking or any of that. The food was very good. They have a fitness room where they have chair exercises that both my mom and dad can participate in and stay strong. They have a card room. They have virtual bowling. They have an arts and crafts room, and they have bingo. They have several activities that my parents can get involved in and stay social. The staff that I met were extremely friendly, helpful, and timely. In terms of food, there were many choices. They weren't just saying this is what we're serving today. You actually had choices on the menu. The facilities are very clean and kept up nicely.

My mother has been in The Fountains for three months now. It's nice. Any of the places I've looked at were single rooms that reminded me of hospital or motel rooms, but this is an apartment with all the amenities. It doesn't have the look and feel of an institution. You'll find on their website that they have different floor plans, different levels of care are provided, and they even have a penthouse apartment. The staff are very friendly, very supportive, they seem to treat the residents with a lot of care and affection, and they seem to care. They have a pool and a courtyard. Unless you have medically necessary reasons for visiting them in their rooms, they want you to schedule visits. There are meeting rooms, and then there are outside visits.

I went to The Fountains. They had the most beautiful one-bedroom with a den, it was just what I was looking for, but the parking was way, way, away, and you couldn't park near the building. The other drawback was it was independent living and assisted living. I worked as a social worker, I would fall in love with the people, and they would die, so until I need it, I didn't want to do that in my retirement, because I love people. You had to get those little cars, or an electric wheelchair to get to your vehicle, so that was the positive and the negative. For the apartment I give it a five. For the accessibility, even where they had people with assisted living, it was not equipped correctly, and it has been there for a while, but they never updated it to allow parking near the complex. You have to walk blocks to get to where they have a parking lot, that people who drive go to. They do have a van, but I still drive, and on that, accessibility to the vehicles. I give them a two.
Extremely pleased

My husband and I lived here. Because of the yearly increases, we were forced to find other accommodations. The constant loss of staff members made it difficult for all of us. We miss our dear friends, but the staff could care less. They sucked us in and drained our bank account. Shame on you!! The parking distance and walking distance to dining was ridiculous and the food was mostly frozen type and warranted a very long wait time to receive. You don't always get what you pay for. We lost a few friends for the same reasons and never thought they would do this to us. Disgraceful. Thank goodness our children helped us find the right community!!

If you are looking for a place to drain your money while being short staffed then this is the place to go. Rooms are not designed for someone with mobility issues. Food is marginal with no dinners provided on Sundays. They do not follow up on medical needs and transportation for the residents is not easy. Some of the staff is nice. you do need to be aware that if your loved one declines at all they will tell you they have to leave but before that will keep going up on the care level $$$ with no appreciable change in care.

We toured the independent level of The Fountains at Melbourne, I was really pleased to see it. The grounds were lovely, the atmosphere was very nice, and the food was good. I met the staff and they were really nice, welcoming, pleasant, and friendly. The place was large and looked nice. The apartments were roomy, with a small kitchenette with no stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave. It was just lovely. The apartment also had a screened porch on the ground floor.

I visited The Fountains, and it looked the same as other places. I don't think the people working there are forthcoming. They did not memory care, but I thought the price was comparable, the food was very good, and the apartments were lovely.

The Fountains of Melbourne came highly recommended to us, and for good reason! After our mother passed away and following recuperation from surgery, it became apparent that our father would likely benefit from considering a new living arrangement. Dad visited The Fountains and there was an immediate sense of how much the staff members care about their residents. From the time one enters through the front lobby doors, there is a welcoming sense of "Home". Each season is celebrated with beautifully themed decor. The residents are kind, friendly, and happy with their living arrangements. Delicious food options abound. With activities and special events galore, residents can be as active as they so choose. Dad considered several different apartment floorplans, before deciding on one that indeed had character and met his needs perfectly! He could not have been more pleased with his selection. Being able to bring furniture items from home turned out to be an excellent feature of The Fountains. With favorite furniture pieces and wall hangings, the new apartment quickly gained a familiar touch. From a top-notch administration, to amazingly accommodating front desk personnel/office staff, to personable maintenance workers, to talented culinary folks, to the wonderful nursing staff, to efficient transport personnel... My family and I have never experienced such synergistic and high caliber genuinely honest, knowledgeable, professional, and caring people as those at The Fountains of Melbourne who not only met, but absolutely exceeded our expectations when entrusted with the care of our loved one.

The Fountains is expensive but good. I have not physically seen the room because they are more expensive. It's an older facility that would be convenient.

I liked everything about The Fountains of Melbourne. I liked the living quarters there; they were very nice. The rooms were adequate. I liked the programs that they had during the day. They had plenty of exercise. We were invited over there for a week, and we attended the exercise activities. We enjoyed them very much. They had a good program there, and they agreed to let me set up a club for veterans.

My mom was at The Fountains of Melbourne. It was really nice. They were great people. They had a great facility. They offer assisted living there too, but I just couldn’t afford it. Mom was in independent living when we went in there. Well, it was great. She had a great 1-bedroom apartment, and the food was great. The food they had was fabulous. They have a chef there, and on all the holidays, they would do buffet style for the family to participate. It’s great.

I really liked the way everything was laid out at The Fountains. I liked their dining, the food, and the way they seemed to really put the focus on their residents. They had a really good selection and three different areas you could go to eat, so it was pretty cool. The rooms were really nice. The apartments had full kitchens in them, so if a relative stops by and wants to stay for a visit, they allow them to stay there, and while they're there, they can cook in the kitchen. They had quite a few activities in different rooms, like a fitness room that residents can go to 24 hours a day to jump on an exercise bike or treadmill.

I went to The Fountains. It was a very nice place and a little higher priced, but the amenities were really nice. It had several different dining rooms in it. They have a dining room set up for power chairs and wheelchairs because sometimes the height of the tables don’t agree with those chairs, so that they would be able to sit comfortably at a table and eat, and that’s important. The community is a lovely environment with an old Florida feel. It is nice. The staff is nice, too.

My friend is in The Fountains. It is top of the line as far as Florida goes. I think everything is great, except there aren't many options for specialized diets, like gluten free. Other than that, it is exceptional. It is a beautiful, table cloth kind of place. The chef is friendly and makes good food. The personnel are friendly. My friend is happy, and I never worry about her.

The Fountains was the best of every place I saw. It was wonderful and beautifully landscaped. Their rooms were roomy with closets big enough for lots of storage. You don’t have to get rid of everything that you own. Their dining room is open all day long and operates like a bistro-type restaurant. The people were very nice.

I like the layout of The Fountains of Melbourne and the location. The building itself is in terrific shape even though it is 26 years old. It is extremely well-maintained. They have a pet policy, which is very smart. They only permit people to have a pet who have apartments on the first floor where they have patios that exit out onto the garden. That way, dogs are not all over the building and are in a spot where they cannot do damage. It is an excellent idea. They have more independent living than assisted living, which I like because it creates a better atmosphere. I had a small lunch there, and it was fine. My husband was pleased, too. Apart from everything else, the space they offer is the most generous space I've found anywhere.

My mom lives in The Fountains in Melbourne. She is in the assisted living. They have both independent care and assisted living. They got three stories, and there is a cafeteria for both assisted living and the other folks. It is a really nice facility. It is very clean and very friendly. My biggest concern is not for her care but that they did not have memory care. They also did not support Medicaid. That is the reason why I was trying to look ahead of the possibility. The staffs are very professional, and it is a great place. It is probably just as nice as any place in this area in terms of the size of the apartment and the care they get. But they did not have memory care in their facility, and they did not support Medicaid. I have eaten there before, and the food is fine. They bring folks in there. I don't look at the schedule all the time but they come out with a calendar every month, and they have activities on a very consistent basis. They always have activities for them throughout the week. They have their own buses that take the folks to and from the store or the doctors. They have different doctors that come in to their facility. My mom uses the doctor, and she will literally just have to go down the hallway. They are very good.

The Fountains is beautiful, but it is just too expensive. The staff is great, and I like that they did nightly checking. They are helpful like explaining about medications or calling me to let me know if there are any issues. The apartments have a kitchen, living room, and a bedroom. The activities were really good except that dad didn't participate in it that much. He did like it when they had social things.

I am interested in The Fountains. We were invited for one of their lunch meetings to get acquainted with the place. The place is very, very clean and well maintained. They got a very nice staff. I've eaten there a couple of times and the food is excellent. The facility itself is very, very nice. I was able to see three different apartments and they were very nice. They have a beautiful dining room. They have a pool and a large meeting room.

The food at the Fountains is better than any place in town; it's to die for. Their rooms were roomy and well laid out, they were very nice. The staff was kind of snotty, they know they're the best in town, so they were very full of themselves. The residents love the place.

I happen to know a few people who've been at the Fountains of Melbourne. It was nice because they have a lot of facilities and I could swim every day, they have a heated pool and they have activities. I like to play bridge and they have bridge games and everything else. Everything was very good except that my son wants me to be closer to him at Gainesville.

My dad and mom were residents of the Fountains for about four years. They received great care around the clock from the housekeeping staff, and when I would visit, the meals were very well prepared. My sister and I were worried about mom and dad being isolated but the physical therapy staff were very up beat about checking on them and incouraging them to join in activities. I could only wish to find a facility so caring when I move to an assisted living facility.

The Fountains is a fantastic assisted-living facility. The staff has always been exceptionally pleasant, from the front desk attendants to the cleaning people. The food is tasty and well-prepared, with the exception of the rolls. My grandma says they're too soggy!. Activities are abundant, from bingo to Wii Bowling to dances and monthly birthday parties for the residents. The apartments are very nice; she even has a screened-in porch.

My grandparents moved into this community for about 4 months. They absolutely did not like living here and decided soon after that they would be better off on their own, even with my grandmother having to take care of my grandfather and his disabilities. A lot of it was that they just felt sad there, like it was a waiting room of some sort. While beautiful it just wasn't for them. After trying to stick it out for a few months they moved out and got a place of their own and they were much happier. Family members come over to help a few times a week and it makes them feel like they are still living, instead of waiting.Overall though, the grounds were beautiful, the staff was pleasant and there was nothing inherently "wrong" with the place, other than the fact that it just made my grandparents uncomfortable and sad. Many of the other residents seemed very happy and they enjoyed living there very much. It probably all depends on the family support system that someone has and weather or not it will provide a better quality of life. I know when the end came for my grandfather, he was much happier to be at home, with his family and in a place he loved.

The Fountains is a great place to stay especially for people with different needs. My Mother really loves the place. In fact she's been in this facility before. I'm pretty sure she's happy there. The facility is very nice and they have a wonderful apartments. But if there was one thing they can improve that would be the food. Because it's the same variety most of the time. I will recommend this facility to others.

The Fountains of Melbourne assisted living facility was one of the places we saw while looking in the area for my friend's mother. The grounds exterior was nicely maintained and designed with beautifully landscaped greenery. The lobby was clean and fresh with very friendly staff to greet us for a tour. The dining room was quite nice, with plenty of space. The meal menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. Healthy snacks are offered all day and whenever requested. The living spaces were very nicely decorated, fresh, clean and personalized. The fitness center had well maintained equipment and ample rooms, including daily classes. Residents may also walk around the lovely grounds safely. The many planned activities feature everything from book discussions to parties and other social gatherings. They participate in the local arts by visiting museums and galleries and seeing film and theater. This is a very nice senior living community and we could see how anyone would really enjoy living in this environment.
