Lake Forest Park was OK. The studio apartments were very nice and the food was decent. The only thing about it was they kind of shut you in at night and the building itself was old. The activity and fitness centers were very small. So, I don't know how much participation they have. One thing I did not like about their dining room was they had a single meal time assigned to the assisted living and then they had to clear you out because the dining room was open to the independent living group. So, you kind of have a strict dining time. You can't relax. You got to be out of there by a certain time. I just didn't like that. The tour person was very nice. We liked her.

I toured Lake Forest Park and was looking at independent living and it was good for that. The villas outside were large and nice. There were places to walk and there were people around and there were golf carts and stuff like that. The staff was good. The location is not the best. It's out of the way. You'd have to drive a bit to get to stores and stuff.

I went on a tour of Lake Forest Park. It was nice. I was very impressed with it. It was nice and clean, and it seemed like a nice, cheery environment. I wouldn't mind living there myself when I retire. I was pretty impressed with it. I liked it. The staff who toured me wasn't the person that I'd made the appointment with, but another person filled in for her, and she did fine. She was very nice and very knowledgeable. The unit that was shown to us was a relatively small room, but really nice and efficiently furnished. It had a pull rope in the bedroom and the bathroom in case they needed assistance or something like that. There's a small kitchen area, a nice little living area, and a nice view outside. I was impressed with it. I think my mother would enjoy being there when we make the decision. They have an activity room where they have crafts and another room where they have singalongs and things like that. And they have a nice large dining area with tablecloths on the table. Everything looked nice. They have a large screened-in area outside where a group of people could sit and enjoy the outside area. They had some shelves there where some of the people that live there had their own plants that they take care of and things like that, too, which my mother would enjoy.

My parents will be moving into Lake Forest Park. We chose it because of the location and price. The individual independent living units were lovely. The two-bedroom, two-bath apartments were quite spacious. The clubhouse was very nice. The people who run the facility are all very nice. They get two meals a day, lunch and dinner. The food is very good, and they have a good selection in addition to the daily entrees. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and very much engaged in the well-being of their tenants.

My mom has moved into Lake Forest Park. It's fine. My mom likes it, and it's close to us. I'm only five minutes away, so that was another selling point. They have different activities every week. They call it happy hours where they do different things, like people come in, play music, and sing. They also have bingo, Scrabble, and puzzles. They have a big puzzle table. They take them on outings to different places during the week. Today, I think they were going to Applebee's to eat if they want to go. My mom is not a big eater, but she loves breakfast. The breakfast is fine. They fix her what she wants for breakfast. Sometimes she eats dinner. If she doesn't really want anything, she has stuff that's already in her refrigerator that she can eat at night if she doesn't feel like going downstairs to eat. In terms of cleanliness, they come through once a week to wash her linens and clean up around there. They vacuum and change her bed once a week. The staff members are very attentive.

I toured Lake Forest Park, and I met with Tricia. She's very, very nice, and very informative. She took me on a tour and showed me what a resident's room would look like. I saw the eating area and she gave me a copy of the typical menu of what they offer during the day. They had an a la carte type menu that they can order from as well. They would take care of my dad's medications. I liked the fact that they do have their own doctor on staff to take care of their needs. When I was doing the walkthrough they had several ladies in a room sitting in their chairs, and they had a TV monitor with a gentleman doing different chair exercises. Tricia gave me a list of different activities throughout the week that my dad could participate in. They had a nice little area also where they could walk. They could get out, get some fresh air, and get a little bit of exercise.

Provider Response

Thank you for the 5 star review, Tiffini! We work hard to take care of our community, residents, and staff. Lake Forest Park is a wonderful and active place to live, and we hope to have you as a part of our community soon!

It was lovely. It's in a wonderfully wooded area and they keep it just beautiful. I sat in the lobby for a while, I was watching people come and go from lunch, and everybody looked so happy. Everybody was so nice and it was clean and it was just lovely. I did not look at the rooms during the visit. I just looked at them online, because I don't know where my mom's going to end up, and what level of care she needs. But what I did see was lovely, I put a deposit to hold the spot for her. The staff I encountered was very nice. Everybody was very helpful. I was thrilled because it's close, and it's just nice. They have all kinds of activities. They have outings if she's able to do that. They go to the theater, the malls, parks, and they take them all over the place. They play games, they have bingo nights, and specialty dinner kind of nights, like for St. Patrick's Day, and stuff like that. Very comfortable, no stress.

It had separate housing with a yard and a screen room. I like that it's a house, and it's a two-bedroom, two-bath with a garage. I really liked the idea of having a garage and a screen room. The person during the tour was great. They just don't have as many amenities as other places have. It's just the separate house thing really got me. It was much more convenient in terms of where my friends live and also my doctors. It would mean not massive change.

It was only serving two meals a day, and at one point, had been serving only one meal a day. This was during COVID, and so we were concerned about that. The girl that toured us only took us to this villa, and then to the recreation center, which was well located. There were several ponds around the units, which were nice too. We liked the town of Fort Pierce. It's a very nice and friendly small town. There are lots of things nearby that you could get to, like restaurants within four or five miles. One thing I also liked about the place was it had a gate that closed cars off from coming in at night.

It seemed very nice. The staff was very nice. She was able to show me the dining room and a room that was vacant. Some were studios. Some were one-bedrooms, and some were two-bedrooms. They did have an activities schedule. They had a table set up in the lobby. They had puzzles, and people just kind of worked on it at their leisure. The staff I came in contact with was very nice.

What I liked best about this place was the attitude. We were given a tour by Chris, and he did a beautiful job. He was very welcoming and obviously was interested, because I had several callbacks from him wanting to know if we had any questions. The place felt very homey, too, so they certainly offer the most personal and best care. It's also very important to my husband that there is a gym, and I wanted an activity calendar; all of that was available. The room was adequate and better than most, the dining room was very nice, and their food selections were varied and interesting. The activities were quite organized, and they had multiple offerings during the week, as well as transportation to shopping.

Everything here was great. The people there are nice, the food was great, and everything was perfect. They have a weekly menu that they put out, and if you don't want the special for the week, they have a menu that they have all the time that they can choose from. The dining room had white tablecloths and they had silverware set out like in a very nice formal setting. The place was clean and there was no smell, no odors whatsoever.

It is a loving community; I have family members there. They have excellent activities for the assisted living, with seven or eight activities a day to keep them busy. Lots of groups come in and do things with them. There are bus rides to sight-see and go to stores and churches. Once or twice a week, doctors come in and be your physician. They're excellent, and I highly recommend them. The food is good.

We found it for my cousin, and I would give it an excellent review. Everything is fine, and I'm very happy with what they have. The staff was very helpful. They have a calendar of activities, including taking them to grocery stores, banks, for medications, and doctors. They have bingo, dances, a heated swimming pool, and on Fridays, they have drinks and play bridge.

I cannot say enough positive comments about the community. It is a beautiful facility with great food and friendly caring staff. When my dad arrived there he was in bad shape. After just a few months he has stabilized mentally and physically. He is moving this week into the independent living villa and is so thrilled. I never dreamed he could be so healthy.

I like the apartments that they have here. They were nice and spacious. They were put together nicely. They have high ceilings and nice little patios. They were not very big and not very small too. Outside of that, there was nothing else that interests me. The lady was very nice, but she didn't give me a full tour. They had an event where they said we go over to the cafeteria where they serve lunch, and when I went there, it was so crowded. There wasn't even a table for me to sit down, and that was disappointing as well.

I liked very much the layout of the rooms here. It was 15 minutes from my house. They took a while with me; they sat down and spoke with me. The nurse was forthcoming. The thing not so appealing was that I found some residents sitting out who were not engaged with each other at all. The hallways were a little bit narrow. They have a later breakfast, which I thought was appealing to my mom.

It looks very nice. It is like a whole bunch of dorm rooms attached inside a house. It is like a sorority house. I did check the rooms, and all the things we have seen have been like that. It is not a negative for that place, but it has been that way. One thing we did see is called the efficiency room, and we would not put my father in it because we thought it was too small. The one room apartment style is a little bit better, but it would have been a large downsize for my father. They have a lot of activities, but I don't know if my father would join in. They have things on different days every day. They have grocery shopping on certain days and going to different places on other days. They have cooking things and crafts things which he would not have done. I couldn't really find anything I thought he would actually do. I did saw the dining facility, and it was fine.

The visit here was OK. People were nice, and it was OK. It seemed a little crowded for me. I didn't look at the individual rooms, and I was just in the main area. It is typical, and I wasn't overly impressed. I thought it's just typical of what I have seen else in other cities. I was more impressed with the staff. They were very nice, very cordial, and very helpful. As for activities, I didn't go into any details with them about that, and it was just more of scoping it out. I think it was the staff that stood out here. I'd say they can look into it, but I don't know if I'd say that is the one they can go into.

It was very nice. Instead of rooms, they had villas outside; you got your own garage, a porch in the front, and a screened-in room in the back. It was like a home, and everything was very nice there. If you needed help like later on, you could move in to the big house and have a room in there. To me, it would be the closest place to home. My friend has a dog, and pets are allowed. She could walk the dog. The people all looked fine and happy.

I am presently living here. I chose it because it is very close to where I live and it meets all of my needs. Location is important because friends and family can come and visit me. The thing that is the best about it is that it is new, clean, and I cannot find anything wrong about it. The staff is very friendly, considerate, and professional. The dining room is excellent and it is like being in a cruise ship. They have a wonderful menu. The food is excellent. I feel like I am on a vacation. There are different kinds of rooms and they are very nice. I am in a little apartment that is 380 square feet. We have activities like playing games to increase our memory, they have people come in for music, there are all kinds of parties, and they keep us quite busy socially.

My mom is here. When you walk in there, is a nice foyer and a general sitting area with couches and all kinds of little things. It is clean. They clean it daily and they clean my mom's and the other residents' rooms. It is great. She has one big efficiency apartment. One area is her bed and the other area is her living room with her personal things. Then, she also has a bathroom. They keep her busy and I have no worries because if anything happens to her, they call me. I like it and she likes it, which is the important thing. They have activities like arts and crafts. They have bingo, card games, ice cream socials, happy hour every Friday and they have somebody who comes by and plays music. Then, they have beverages and snacks. For those who want to go, they sign up and they take them out of the community for dinner. They take them to the grocery on one day, the drug store on the other and department store on another day. They take them to church on Sunday. They are pretty flexible because she didn't like the church that they go to, and they take her to the church that she likes. I will definitely recommend it to anyone if they need to have their parents cared for.

It was very nice. They were very good with my sister; they explained things. They gave her a lot of different options. I thought it would be the best thing for her because it would have been a lot closer to me. I would have been able to help her more. They had a swimming pool, activities, and different things for her. They would have kept her well occupied. I wouldn't have had to worry about her; it has security. They showed us their kitchen and their eat-in places. The only thing is the front parking, where when you have people that are interested trying to find a place to park. Other than that, there wasn't any problem. The manager was very good. Both of the young ladies that we talked to were very good. They had the answers to all the questions, and they were very well prepared for the different situations.

My dad is a current resident here. We moved him there the beginning of November. He is all situated and he's quite comfortable where he is. They have a nice clean facility. I like that it's conveniently located and not far from me, so it makes it easier to see him more regularly. They seem to be taking care of him. He is well fed. That's what he was looking for and so that's what we found for him. The staff seems to be competent. They're there when my dad needs them. They take them shopping and they take them to church on Sundays. They do the standard things. My dad loves to play pool and the pool table is in their back facility. But they don't take him there as often as I think they should. I wish they would take him there a little bit more often. They must have a half dozen golf carts to take people around, but I don't think he gets out there as much. I wish they would be a little bit more active with him. I think they're doing a pretty good job but I wish they could be a little bit more detailed when it comes to their personal service. I would see a lot of people sitting in the front lobby area and they're always the same people. It just like they sit there, there is nothing going on and they are not doing anything. Perhaps they need a little bit more employees to keep people busy and to keep people doing things.

I went for a visit and I thought the place was great. I went to one of their activities. I was not really thrilled with the food. The other drawback I had there was the age of the community because I'm younger and there was one couple there that was even close to my age. I want to socialize and it just didn’t work out for me. It would have been great for my mother but I'm looking for a place that I can go into as an independent living and move on as I get older.
