"The Ivy Court assisted living facility was in the vicinity while my friend and I were checking out places for his mother. The outside area resembled that of a high-end, well maintained condo building. The interior design was lovely with gorgeous views and sunlight throughout. It was airy and had lovely French doors which gave it a special quaint charm. The residents go sight seeing, on nature walks and participate in cultural events on a regular basis. Orlando is filled with so many different options, and the staff sees to it that the residents can take advantage of this. Because the weather is so mild there, residents may enjoy safe walks along pathways on a near year round basis. The residents enjoy yoga and aerobics classes, sometimes held outdoors. Seniors are encouraged to enjoy physical activity as much as possible. Private units featured beautifully decorated surroundings, many with stunning views of the gorgeous skyline. All had a great deal of natural light and fresh air, through very large windows - many of which had individual terraces and balconies. Each unit had either a full kitchen or kitchenette. The dining areas offered the kind of food that you would find in a high end restaurant. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus included food options for all kinds of diets. The seniors appeared very content here, with just the amount of care and attention they required. "

"I liked Excellence Senior Living - Orlando. It looked like a hotel and the prices were good because they're not very expensive compared to others. The place was very well decorated and everything was in place. The seniors were active and we saw nurse's stations on the floors. It's really beautiful outside and inside. We saw the staff on the move, working with seniors, and they were very kind. They were wanting to help the seniors and were just active with them. I like that for my mom. They have a salon and a therapy room that the residents use with a therapist. It looked like a gym and it's very nice. We saw the kitchen and the dining room where they eat, and it was very nicely decorated and beautiful. They serve the residents and if they don't want to eat what they're served, they can ask for something else and they will prepare it for them."

"I went to Brookdale Conway. The staff was very friendly. But the rooms were a little smaller and they didn't have the amenities that the other places had. I saw the dining room, which is also used as a recreational room for crafts and stuff like that. It just didn't have the other stuff. The one-bedroom room was 400 square feet in total, which is the same price as the other place. It was very clean. For activities, they had trivial nights, crafts, and stuff like that."

"My aunt is doing well at Gentry Park Orlando. Her room is a one-bedroom and it's very nice. Everything is beautiful. The people working there are very nice, very pleasant, and very caring. The food is very good. For activities, they've got someone to entertain them. They provide transportation for outings if she has to go to the doctor."

"Inspired Living at Ocoee was very nice. When you walk in, it's almost like a hotel. The grounds were wonderful and the staff were very nice. They have a restaurant that's open all day, which is kind of cool. They have a pool, and the rooms were nice too. They've got happy hour, bingo, van trips, transportation to doctor's appointments, grills so you can cook out, and a gymnasium where they provide physical therapy right there."

"We liked CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living -Waterford Lakes. The memory care unit they have is very good. It was really good, the environment was very relaxed. Everything was new because the facility is relatively new, like two or three years, and it was a very good experience. If I could have transferred my aunt, I would have sent her there because for the same price at another place we will have a shared room, but we were able to get a room all by herself, at Certus. Everything was very safe, space, and new. You can smell that it was good, it was new. The staff was very nice. When my husband and I got there, there was a sign welcoming us, with our names, and they were very, very nice. The layout was wonderful. You didn't see people walking around, crowded. It was a relaxing place. That was the best one that I found that could meet the needs of my aunt."

"I went to Florida Golden Adult Care. I didn't talk to the staff that much. They are not really welcoming. They have a gym. They have a place outside where the residents can sit down. It's like a little park area. The upkeep is good."

Not only was I shocked at the fact that the Administrator gave out his personal phone number but the Dept. heads did as well..... you really feel like your part of a family here! They even have family nights where you can meet other family members, I've become very close to a daughter of another resident and she feels the same way.
