My tour at Best Care Senior Living at Winter Haven was excellent. It's an excellent facility and excellent staff. I like the staff, the location, and the cleanness of the place. I was extremely impressed. The staff who gave me the tour was absolutely 100% excellent. Above and beyond. She was very thorough. Everything from inside the facility to outside the facility, everything was thoroughly explained. They have very nice rooms and very ample and plenty of space for the elderly. The surroundings are terrific, very safe, and very secure. I cannot say enough about it. Everything from the staff to everything I saw in the facility, I was extremely impressed. The dining area was very, very nice. It's a very ample area, dining-wise. Everything was explained to me about the menu and the alternative menus and options for the patients there. The staff explained to me the calendar of activities for the month. I even received a calendar myself. She explained the activities like bingo, all the areas that they play in, and the theater that they have for them to see movies. I was extremely impressed with all the activities they do. The staff is a great activities director. She has great ideas, and I think for the elderly and their condition, those activities are very good. From puzzles to games to coloring to bingo (which happened to be when I was there) and to the movie theater. I was always like, 'This is a beautiful place.' Beautiful and nice, too. Very nicely staffed. Very friendly, and cozy, and has a little warmer atmosphere for the elderly that reside there. It's a well-kept and very clean facility. The director of activities is an extremely thorough and marvelous person.

Best Care Senior Living at Winter Haven was a large place. It was clean, but it wasn't fancy in any way. When we first walked in, I thought it was a little gloomy-looking. But they had an activities corner, and the staff showed us a room that they called a theater, where they did movies and things like that. What I liked about the place was that the director said she really enjoyed her job there. She was a really nice person. You could tell that she liked her job. She had been working there for many years, and she said that the staff there worked very well together, so to me, that was a lot. Each person gets their own room, and it's a little suite-like, so there's another room next to it. And then the two of them can share a table where they can eat, or they can go to the cafeteria, where they have a larger place to eat. We thought it was nice that each person had their own room. They share a bathroom. They had activities posted on the board.

Best Care Senior Living at Winter Haven just changed management, but everybody was friendly. The memory care had separate bedrooms. They had a theater room, weekly activities, shopping trips, and game rooms. It was a nicer facility and they could accommodate more. They had elevators. The staff was very friendly. They had community meetings where the staff members and the residents could discuss openly any improvements or anything that they would like.

I am a resident of Best Care which is now under new Administrator. We have a good functioning resident council that works well with administration. We have a fantastic activities director! We are making this place feel like HOME for everyone here!

The number one factor we considered in choosing Best Care Senior Living at Winter Haven assisted living for my mom was its nearness to me. It's only 30 minutes away from where I live, so that was a huge consideration. Some of the other places were more than an hour away, so that made a big difference. I would describe the community as clean and friendly. It's complete too, it has everything that you need. The marketing director was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating during the tour. The rooms were a double room with a common sitting area and I think that was unique. I'd never seen that before and I think that's good. I think that encourages the roommates to visit with each other and have more interaction so I like that. I know that the company that's running this facility has recently purchased it so I know they're going through a lot of upgrades and repairs right now.

Very limited staff. Wont take blood pressure or ck blood sugar. Room is nice. Not always clean. I had to sweep myself it was so bad. Cna is only medical person who is not very cooperative. Parking lot in bad shape. Pot holes galore. Patient fell and no one noticed. Activities very limited. Elevator locked and never anyone around to put in code. Very limited personnel on weekends and at nite. Food very minimal if ur a good eater. No cooperation on getting medical info on family member. Best to do yourself. Some staff very nice and manager tries hard. Someone new every time so u cant get info across to staff. Communication difficult.
