"My grandmother moved to Hawthorne Inn. I like that it's a small facility. It's very home-like, and it seemed to be a perfect fit for my grandma. They have scheduled activities. Every time I've gone in there, it's been very clean. Her room is big. It's not hospital-like, it's more of a home-like. The staff has been great. All of them are expensive, so it's the hard part."

"My father is in Hawthorne Inn Lakeland. It is a wonderful place. He's on the locked-down unit. We have a party tonight to go to there. The rooms are very nice. Cleanliness is perfection. The staff is wonderful and they take very good care of him. They call me for anything and everything, and I can call them for anything and everything. The food was delicious. They have things going on all the time. It's kind of expensive, but we're hoping that he can get on Medicaid as a secondary, and it would cut it in half because it's $4550 a month, so that's pretty costly."

"We toured Brookdale Winter Haven, and the gentleman was very helpful and nice. He gave me different information, phone numbers, and things that people called to help with the financing. He was very open to the different types of rooms available and gave us an idea of what might be the best for my wife. The people there were friendly, and the facility was very nice and clean."

"I toured The Canopy at Walden Woods. It's a very friendly place. The colors are calming, and the way it's set up is open. There are plenty of care members around, especially in memory care. I was really impressed with it. They were all very pleasant and very helpful. It has a welcoming feeling. Their menu looked well-balanced and appealing. The ambience of the place was comfortable. I would feel comfortable if I had to stay there."

"Foxtail Lodge is very nice. It seemed very well maintained, and they're adding two more rooms that are very well done. They aren't furnished yet but they have them completed as far as the floors and walls. There was a huge living room, and they had two dining areas. They have non-ambulatory people eating in the kitchen area and ambulatory people in the dining rooms. They had a menu and activities on the refrigerator for the month."

"Aum Haven Assisted Living Facility was very, very nice. It was a house made into a facility. It had all of the ADA accommodations and it was well-kept. I had a lot of good feedback from the residents when I asked about how they were being taken care of. The staff was nice and very helpful. They would provide meals 3 times a day and they had 24/7 staffing."

"I like the cleanliness of American House Zephyrhills. I like the friendliness of the people. I like the room. I like everything about it. They have a studio and a one-bedroom, and I like the one-bedroom with a balcony. The person who gave the tour was nice. I haven't tried the food, but I know they supply three meals a day."

"The Courtyard At Granada is almost like a house that somebody converted. It looked very nice. It was a little bit cheaper than the other place, but with the drive, I'm thinking that the other place is going to be more suited to us. They don't have a memory care area. That's one of the other things I was a little concerned about. They don't have a locked-down situation except at night; they just close the main doors of the facility and lock them, whereas the other place has an actual place that's locked down inside the building. It seemed like a fairly decent place, but as far as staff and food, I don't know anything about it. I don't know about their accreditation. The food looks fine, but I don't know about taste or anything like that. The woman who took me around on the tour was the owner of the place, and she was very knowledgeable. I didn't meet many of the staff. I did see a copy of the menu, and it looked fine. A lot of the rooms are private, but they share a bathroom. That wouldn't work out for a lot of people, including my wife. She's a very private person, and she would not like that at all. Their dining area is very nice."

"I toured the Savannah Court of Brandon. The staff is very nice, and so are the nurse and the director. They're all very nice. It's clean. It's a nice apartment. They're very good. If I sit down as a guest, I do not have to pay for the food. The food was good. I was there at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and they celebrated birthdays. I think they did a wonderful job, and the layout is very nice, too."

"My mother moved into Integrity Group Home last March. It's a work in progress and improving. She has a nice-sized, clean room. She has different meals each day and physical and occupational therapies."

"Over the years I have had 3 relatives with the New Horizon family. All have have been consistent in kindness and caring from the Administrator, Care staff, Cooks, Housekeeping and Maintenance. The home and units are clean, food tastey and activities varied. Mom has been very happy. If Mom is happy so am I. I highly recommend this unique home setting."
