"I toured Brookdale Highlands. They were great. I would say that they were open and friendly. They were accommodating to what we were looking for. We got to interact with some of the residents, and it was great too. The residents seemed happy. The facility was very clean and organized. The activities looked very interactive, and the facility was in great shape."

"We toured Lake Morton Senior Living, which was very clean. We ate lunch there, and the food was delicious. I viewed some of the apartments, which were very nice and reasonably priced. They have activities there, and the apartments are very roomy."

"My father is in Hawthorne Inn Lakeland. It is a wonderful place. He's on the locked-down unit. We have a party tonight to go to there. The rooms are very nice. Cleanliness is perfection. The staff is wonderful and they take very good care of him. They call me for anything and everything, and I can call them for anything and everything. The food was delicious. They have things going on all the time. It's kind of expensive, but we're hoping that he can get on Medicaid as a secondary, and it would cut it in half because it's $4550 a month, so that's pretty costly."

"Our tour experience with Water Edge of Lake Wales was very good. They explained the place to me very well. I saw a studio apartment with a kitchenette that was unfurnished. So, you have to furnish it. The amenities were great. They had a library, a hobby shop, and the place was very clean. It was like a luxury hotel."

"Foxtail Lodge is very nice. It seemed very well maintained, and they're adding two more rooms that are very well done. They aren't furnished yet but they have them completed as far as the floors and walls. There was a huge living room, and they had two dining areas. They have non-ambulatory people eating in the kitchen area and ambulatory people in the dining rooms. They had a menu and activities on the refrigerator for the month."

"Windsor at Celebration is very expensive, and the staff told me that it's going to raise the cost every year. But the appearance is very good. It's very nice, it's beautiful, and it's clean. They're friendly. We had lunch, and it was nice. The meal experience was very good. I'm pleased with everything, but it's too much money. If it was much cheaper, I would have taken it. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. With all the workers there, you wouldn't imagine that you're in a senior living, and you would feel like you're in a plush hotel. I really like it. The rooms were sparkling clean. It smelled nice and it looked nice. The workers were very nice, and they had a lot of workers there. There's a long table in the dining room. You can take whatever you want. They give you ice cream, and they give you coffee. They give you what you like. The staff said it is left up to me to clean my room or do anything for myself, but every Friday, she told me that the worker would come and clean the apartment, which is very good. If they don't see you at breakfast time or hear anything, they come to look for you and see if you are all right. They bring the meals if you want. They check on you every minute. There's a big swimming pool, hot and cold. It's nice."

"Aum Haven Assisted Living Facility was very, very nice. It was a house made into a facility. It had all of the ADA accommodations and it was well-kept. I had a lot of good feedback from the residents when I asked about how they were being taken care of. The staff was nice and very helpful. They would provide meals 3 times a day and they had 24/7 staffing."

"The Courtyard At Granada is almost like a house that somebody converted. It looked very nice. It was a little bit cheaper than the other place, but with the drive, I'm thinking that the other place is going to be more suited to us. They don't have a memory care area. That's one of the other things I was a little concerned about. They don't have a locked-down situation except at night; they just close the main doors of the facility and lock them, whereas the other place has an actual place that's locked down inside the building. It seemed like a fairly decent place, but as far as staff and food, I don't know anything about it. I don't know about their accreditation. The food looks fine, but I don't know about taste or anything like that. The woman who took me around on the tour was the owner of the place, and she was very knowledgeable. I didn't meet many of the staff. I did see a copy of the menu, and it looked fine. A lot of the rooms are private, but they share a bathroom. That wouldn't work out for a lot of people, including my wife. She's a very private person, and she would not like that at all. Their dining area is very nice."

"I love The Canopy at Walden Woods. It was beautiful, bigger, and brighter. You are welcomed when you get there. The staff was excellent. They were very informative, and they showed me several different rooms. They have different dining aspects. They have transportation services to different places. They seem to have more amenities. They play cards. They introduced me to a couple of people who do cards. The residents seemed to really like the place. The place was clean. They have a beauty and barber shop, an enclosed lanai, and a garden. Everything seemed in order."

"My sister will be moving into Spring Hills Hunters Creek. We chose it because she needs memory care. Theirs was large, open, and airy, and they had a lot of staff and my sister is still pretty lively physically. It's just her mind is the problem. The room was very nice, very sunny, and bright. It is month to month, so if we don't like it in six months, it's not a problem. It's a little pricy like they all are, but the presentation was good and a lot of staff seems to be around. They have meals and they have a good active monthly calendar. They have musicians that come in and singers, and they have art on the walls that is interactive, so the residents can draw on this art. They do some outings on occasion, and they have an exercise class, which I liked. They take care of everything. They do laundry, they have doctors that come in, and physical therapists that come in. Everything is kind of one-stop shopping. The staff during the visit seems to be very caring. She went to my sister's house (who was my other sister's caregiver) and helped her fill out the paperwork and everything like that on a computer. They just seemed to be very involved and caring. I can revisit it once my sister is actually in there and see how the care goes."

"The Blake at Hamlin is a fairly new facility. Everything was new and clean. The rooms were nice. You provide your own furniture. The director was very knowledgeable and helpful."

"We visited HarborChase of Dr. Phillips and toured for independent living. They had a beautiful dining room and lovely food. They're delicious. The staff members were very professional. The place is brand-new, so it's lovely. It's very clean, very neat, and has a very professional air to it."
