Great facility- my loved one has been at The Manor for a while now and the care they receive gives me peace of mind. The staff is attentive and friendly. No place is perfect however when I stop in my loved one seems content and makes me feel like I made the right choice.

WARNING! If you LOVE your family member, don’t send them here. If you want your family member to be treated like a paycheck, then this is the place for you. My family member was the very first occupant here, and honestly, I felt very uneasy from day one. Mark, the head guy, has the personality of a tyrant; he is only interested in one thing, and that is money. His second-in-command, the manager and head nurse, tries to be nice, but you can tell it is all fake (you can see it in the way her face contorts when she is trying to be nice; it looks as if it physically hurts her to be pleasant). Even with these feelings, I kept quiet. We were told that they did not want family members to visit for the first two weeks. Not understanding this, my family did what they asked. I did not like it and still never got an answer for why, especially since she was the only one in the home at the time. A couple of weeks went by, and as more people started coming in, I noticed that while they were nice to your face, they treated some of the other residents poorly. They seemed frustrated and mad at some people. Keeping in mind they were just starting to have a few people coming in and were nowhere near full, they were already getting cranky and frustrated. I was disturbed when, during one visit, my family member was at the dinner table, falling asleep and almost falling out of her chair. When it was time for me to leave, I asked if there was anyone available to help her to her room, and Mark told me, “She walked there by herself; she can walk herself to her room.” So much for the 24/7 care they advertise. Then came the day my family member fell. Thankfully, she was okay, but again, they advertise 24/7 care—so how did she fall? Other family members began to notice that the staff was no longer friendly to us or to my family member. My family member was 92 and was slowly declining. About a month after her first fall, she fell again. The day after her second fall, we were told by Mark that she needed to leave the facility immediately or we would need to hire someone to sit with her 24/7. This facility advertises 24/7 care, and my family member had her own house. If we could afford someone to be with her, we would have done that instead of putting her in the home. Because Mark was demanding we get her out, we had a hospice nurse come and check her out. The nurse told Mark that she was at the end of her life and should not be moved. Sadly, my family member died the next day. The last issue was that we were told we needed to remove her belongings from the room very soon. A few family members and I went there to get her furniture. As my family member was declining, they moved her queen-size bed to storage and brought in a hospital bed. When a family member asked Mark where her bed was, he rudely said, “I don’t know where it is; I’ve got to run an errand,” and left quickly. As we packed up her furniture, I asked the second-in-command nurse manager, and her response was very unhelpful: “That sounds like a Mark question; I don’t know.” When I asked her how you can lose a queen-size bed, she responded dismissively, “I don’t know. What do you want me to do?” I had to walk away because I was angry that we were rushed to remove her belongings while they couldn’t locate her bed. I would bet they knew exactly where it was and that it was under another patient’s use. It is wrong; my family paid for that bed, and it’s not right that they get to keep it for themselves. If you want your family member to be treated with the respect and dignity they advertise, they are full of BS. The workers, especially the owner Mark and his second-in-command, are not friendly and don’t care about the people; they just care about good reviews and money. I was told every time I went there to give them a good review over and over again. So here is the review you begged me for. Wish I could rate negative stars

My mother-in-law is a resident of The Manor of Fort Pierce, and we love everything there. It's beautiful. It has a beautiful bathroom and closet space. It's a brand-new facility. The living space is amazing. Everything is very clean. The CNAs are wonderful. The owner is great. The director is great. They've been amazing. I recommend anybody to put their loved one there. I have lunch with my mother-in-law every Sunday, and the food looks great. They feed them an amazing variety. They have great activities. They play bingo. We bought them a karaoke machine for the activity room. At Christmas time, they bought all the residents matching pajamas and hats, and they had a snow machine and a beautiful Christmas tree. They're amazing.

What a lovely place. Mom has been here for a while. She really likes it here. She enjoys being with the other residents. The staff have always been very attentive and responsive. Haven’t had any issues. I would highly recommend.

My father was at The Manor of Fort Pierce. He was wearing a diaper and had a catheter put in, and in the three days that he was there, nobody helped him do that or any of the stuff. The facility was clean; there's nothing bad about that. The staff did a good job of keeping it clean. However, I couldn't keep him there for more than three days. His diaper wasn't changed without him manually doing it, which he wasn't able to at the time, and he would end up getting an infection, so I took that as, if they didn't do that in the first three days, then I didn't feel safe about leaving him there. He needed more care than they were able to give. The staff and everything was OK. No discrepancy in that case; it's just that I didn't see him getting the care that he needed at the time. It looked like a fine facility. They had TV rooms and a lounge area. Everything there, the optics was good. As for activities, my father was able to play bingo, and he liked it.

The Manor of Fort Pierce was just in the beginning phases of getting started. I think they only had 1 or 2 residents so my reaction there is, it's not a mature enough place for me to consider at all. It doesn't fit our needs well, not having the experience and not enough time to know how they would do. The facility was too small for us. There's not much parking. It's not going to grow much. It was very, very quiet.
