We toured Village Veranda at Lady Lake. They were just all friendly and helpful, and did a great job from what I saw, so that was good. We saw bingo and different classes. There's a swimming pool and whatever we saw was clean and available to the people, so that was nice.

Our tour at Village Veranda at Lady Lake was good. The people seemed to be very nice. The marketing girl showed us the rooms and the dining hall. Everything was very clean and very well-kept. It was a very, very nice tour. We enjoyed the facility. They showed us the assisted living portion. The staff was very friendly, very informative, very knowledgeable, and very helpful.

We toured the Village Veranda at Lady Lake. It was a very nice place except for the rooms. Their bedrooms could be bigger as well as their shared rooms. The rest of the building was very upscale. It was very nice. It seemed like a very new building. When we walked in, everybody was singing church songs, and I liked that. I like they were having a little bit of a church there. It seemed somewhat organized. I didn't ask enough questions, but the pricing was too much. It was over my mom's Social Security amount by a couple of hundred dollars.

I liked that Village Veranda at Lady Lake had a full-sized fridge and they had two-bedroom, two-bath apartments. I only talked to the salespeople, and they were very friendly. It's fine, but there were things that didn't fit us. It wasn't enclosed, so I was worried about that. For some other people, that might be fine. Our dog was too big, so they couldn't accept it and where my parents would have had to walk the dog if it was accepted, would be outside near the parking lot. Those are things I didn't like, but that's not a fault of the facility.

I didn't care for Village Veranda at Lady Lake compared to the other two places. It was not as clean. The location was terrible because it's right off of the 27, so it's hard to get to. They're doing a lot of construction on that road. The facility itself, I just didn't like how you come in and you see all the people sitting out there, and they just had a meeting. Everybody didn't look like they were very happy there. The staff during the tour was new to the place itself, so I don't think she knew everything about that place. She was nice, but she wasn't as professional as the other ones. Everybody was just too busy doing their own thing. They didn't acknowledge you. I felt like I was inconveniencing them for being there.

My sister-in-law has moved into Village Veranda at Lady Lake. She wanted to stay close to The Villages and this is just outside The Villages, right by five miles. The other thing that helped us in our choice was the fact that it was a beautiful place with accommodations that were a little bit bigger. The rooms were a little bit bigger and the cost was a little bit less. She was able to go into a one-bedroom without waiting. The salespeople were great and she liked it. The other thing that sold us on it is we got to talk to a number of the people who live there and they were all very positive about the food, about the activities, and they connected with you. It's a new facility and it looks brand new. It's very well kept up. The food was good. There were a lot of choices. They could pick the vegetables they wanted, the protein, etc., and they always had a nice meal for the middle of the day. They've got wonderful staff. They give the residents a map of all the activities for the whole month, and there's something every hour for them to join or not join. I saw a lot of them creating their own activities and playing cards. It's a very comfortable, homey environment. There are lots of places where people can gather twos, threes, and fours and are allowed to play something on their own.

Village Veranda at Lady Lake was gorgeous. I looked at their menu and they had a pretty good menu. And I saw the people in the dining room eating. This place was very upscale. I liked everything about it - the looks, the layout, the menu, and the activities. The layout of the facility was exceptional.

What I liked about my tour of Village Veranda at Lady Lake was the presentation. The floor plans that they had available were very good. The tour was great. It didn't take too long, but I saw everything I needed to see. They were forthcoming with their prices, and it seemed like they were well put together. One thing they did was that, instead of having a great room with two people in one room, they had separate bedrooms, which was cool. The person who took me around was very informative. They had a large outdoor space which was very nice. They had a koi pond. It was very nice, very well-kept, and very clean.

Had appointments with several people at the facility. Lisa and mr stone were very friendly and helpful. I found the facility clean, beautiful, and running well. We signed up my mother in law to become a resident. Hopefully living in the village Veranda will live up to all they have told us. So far- so good!!!!

My mother moved into Village Veranda at Lady Lake. Everything is nice there. The people are extremely friendly. We're very impressed with how friendly not only the staff but the residents are. Trying to get someone and them getting back to you, that has not been a problem. They're very much on the ball when it comes to responding to you. Once in a while, my mom turns the TV on, but that's about it. She has a small lanai, and she enjoys sitting out there. There are a lot of areas for families to visit. I'm very pleased with the dining area, it's very nice.

Village Veranda at Lady Lake was nice and it was newer, but I didn't get that warm, fuzzy feeling. The staff was not as warm as the other place. They offered quite a bit. I saw a courtyard. The lawn was nice. They had screened-in porches for each of the apartments. It was laid out very nicely. The dining area was very large, nice, and very neat. They had a library, a computer room, and laundry. It was very clean. Hospitals were probably within a seven- to eight-mile radius.

My parents seemed to like Village Veranda at Lady Lake the best. They liked the apartment layout and the atmosphere of the place. Everything was clean, laid out well, and the floor plans were very nice. The person who assisted us with the tour was very accommodating, very pleasant, and answered all our questions. She was very efficient, and we were very happy with her. She showed us the 1-bedroom apartment, and that's what they were interested in. They had a courtyard, a library, and places where people could sit down and play cards. They had coffee and snacks. Their common areas were very nice.

Very beautiful facility, however the management team is disgraceful. From the Executive Director “Tanya” always having alcohol on her breathe during interactions. Their sales director “Denise” who will lie and sell you dreams to get a move in. The maintenance director is anything but useful. Barely any housekeeping, it’s always “we’re understaff”. From the way I see them treat their workers, I can see why they can’t keep staff. Also to the new hire for assistant director “Nina”, very unprofessional all around the board. The way I witnessed her speak to staff when visit my mother is degrading. She should not be in the position that she is in. Very tasteless, and needs to be looked into if the company owner truly cares about his facility, because as of now I DO NOT RECOMMEND Village of Veranda and will be moving my mother out expeditiously

The Village Veranda at Lady Lake was beautiful. I was very impressed with it. It would be a consideration. I was just impressed with the whole facility. The person who gave the tour was very friendly and provided all the information that answered all my questions. The room we saw was adequate, I looked at a 1-bedroom and it would be quite an adjustment, but it was sufficient. I did not eat any food there, but the dining area was very pretty and very neat. There seemed to be plenty of amenities, and there were sufficient activities for those that wanted to participate. There was a game playing, and there was a crafts room.

Village Veranda at Lady Lake was a nice facility, but it was a little too large and it has three stories. All the people were very nice there as well. Nobody treated us poorly, and we had good tours and everything. If that one wouldn't have been a three-story building and so large with so many apartment-type places, it would have been a toss-up with the other facility we saw. They have their dining room and crafts, and they have tons of activities that go on all the time. They get their people to their appointments and everything, just about any great service to make sure that the people there are happy.

The move-in fee at Village Veranda costs about $3000, It's a one time fee and they said if you move in by the end of the month, it would be waived. The meals are included, as well as snacks, medical appointments (pick up and drop off), doctors, and an in-house pharmacy. The big advantage is that they accept Medicaid and out of all the ones we visited, they were the only ones who does that. The place was very clean and very well appointed. Everything looked updated. They had a nice courtyard, some areas outside, an ice cream parlor, a barbershop, a salon, and a library. If they didn't feel like getting the specials from the menu, they have a separate one that they could make some for them. They said that when my father-in-law will be there, they will have an ambassador to kind of guide him. They would pair them with somebody that has the same interest. They do that for a short while until they get used to the place.

I think the staff at Village Veranda at Lady Lake was extremely professional and sufficient. The facility itself was extremely impressive, clean, well decorated, open, and airy. Everything just smelled so nice. It was a very nice setup. The rooms were also very spacious. The studio was really wide, which was nice. They have an ambassador program where people that are still able to get around can go talk and have personal time with other patients. They had a room with a lot of activities. They had these huge balls that they did drumming on for coordination and work out of the arms. We did not see their PT room. We saw their theater, and it was very nice. It had a large theater and chairs. They also had a full quarter that they had listed all the people that were living there, whether or not they were in the Navy, the Army, or the Air Force. I thought that was nice. It was kind of a tribute for the guests. The dining room and entry were both large reception areas just for a lot of people.

Village Veranda at Lady Lake is nice. It's brand new, it's only like seven or eight years old. It's upkept outside and inside. It's a beautiful place. The staff was a 5. She went through everything as far as Medicaid, Medicare, and what they're going to do with my mother and everything else. They were very knowledgeable. The building was nice. It was clean inside and outside. I didn't get a chance to go through all the other stuff, but the rooms were clean and ready to go. They have the same amenities as everybody else. They have an activity director. They have activities every day. They have a calendar sitting there every day. They have different things going on. They have karaoke, bingo, and some other games. They have a quiet area, too. If you want to bring your family in, they have a private luncheon or something like that. They were set up pretty well.

The Village Veranda at Lady Lake is beautiful. It's new, it's probably about two and a half years old, and some of the units have never even been lived in. It's very competitive in pricing too. They have assisted living, which my father was in for a little bit and it is wonderful. I cannot say enough for the staff. He's in memory care now, we're pleased with it, and the staff is wonderful. I think they are getting ready to break ground for an independent living that's not built yet. The rooms are nice. My father was first in assisted living in a 1-bedroom apartment. It had a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. They're new, very modern and the design is up-to-date. In memory care, his room is really big too. It's not as big as his apartment in assisted living, but we got almost all his furniture moved over there. I can't find much wrong with it. The rooms are probably even bigger in memory care too than in other places we've looked at. The food is good. It's not a 5-star restaurant but the fact that you see a lot of people eating it, then it must be good. They have a menu, a couple of daily specials that have choices of the things you want, and the chef will accommodate any wants you may have. They have lots of activities in assisted living. There are different activities all the time. There are crafts, they have a library, and a lot of music people come in. Obviously, in-memory care, they have more memory-type activities. They encourage them with games and puzzles and different people come through to speak or do music. Their goal is really to keep them pretty much busy all day so they don't just stay in a room and do nothing. Most people are out and about all day, so you don't see them lying around sleeping. The place is very nice. If something needs fixing, somebody's right there, right away. There's no luxury swimming pool or anything like that, but they have a huge courtyard in both assisted and memory care that are nice. Some of the residents have a little garden-type thing they have going where they grow things. The staff would go out of their way when I had questions. I could call them on the weekend and it's not the least bit inconvenient. They will reach out to me with multiple calls if they need something. They don't just wait, they call you. One of them even takes pictures. My dad has been in memory care for not very long. They had taken pictures of him interacting and doing things, and they texted them to me. It's only like 25 people over their memory care so the staff can spend a lot of time with them. They have a lot of parties. They just had an Oktoberfest yesterday. The staff is very interactive and my dad loves them.

Village Veranda at Lady Lake was elegant. The place is just four years old and it was very nice and very clean with a nice atmosphere. The space just had a lot of cut-offs, and that didn't appeal to me. You go down a hall, you cut off this way, you cut off that way. Then you keep walking around onto different rooms. I like a more wide-open layout. Theirs was quite sectioned. We got to see one room that they were working on, and that was the only two-bedroom they had. They have no pool, but the lady said that they are making arrangements for the gym next door and that maybe I could be able to use that. However, that's not what I'm interested in, I wanted an in-house because the pool to me is therapy. The lady I talked to was very courteous and very knowledgeable, but I caught her saying some things that weren't quite true when she said they were the only ones to offer covered lanai because the other facility I went had it too.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for your visit to Village Veranda. Our community is just 2 years old-time flies when you are having fun! In response to the covered balconies, we are currently the only Assisted Living with covered screened lanai options for the apartments in the area. There is a new Assisted Living opening in October that offers this as well, but for now its just us! Hope this clarifies any misunderstanding there was. We appreciate your review-let us know if you ever want to come back for a visit!

My mother in law was living at another community and it did not go well. She moved into village veranda recently and couldn’t be happier. they are attentive to our families calls and her needs. The staff is genuine and treats her like family. We love that she doesn’t call us with complaints anymore!! Glad we made the move!

I like the setup at Village Veranda at Lady Lake. I like that they had a very nice courtyard for them to sit in and go out any time they wanted. They don't have to worry about whether they were actually going to get out of the facility, which I liked. It was very nice and very clean. The people there were very nice and attentive. The staff that I talked to were very attentive to the people that were there. They were very caring staff. I would have had no problem leaving my sister there.

I moved my mother to Village Veranda at Lady Lake. The building was lovely, she was there on December 10th, she had a blood clot in her leg, and she went to the hospital, and a week later she passed away. The nurses' aides there were very nice, and much, much better than the ones at the other place she was in. The nurse, however, because of her negligence, did not recognize that my mother had a blood clot in her leg. When I went to visit her, she had excruciating pain at 7 am, and the nurse's reaction was to give her an aspirin, although that wasn't entirely wrong, it was completely, glaringly evident that she had a blood clot, her foot was like a basketball. Consequently, they missed a major thing. The care is nice, but I can't say much for the medical professionals handing out the medication because she missed it completely. The rooms were very nice, the food was mediocre.

My mother-in-law has moved into Village Veranda at Lady Lake. It's very nice, new, and clean and we've been very happy so far. Whenever there's an issue, we talk to them, and they would call us back. The food is great, and her room is beautiful. They have activities and the staff is very nice, but they're understaffed. I'm a little concerned with the number of people working there.

We toured Village Veranda at Lady Lake. It was fine, I just found the place to be pretty desolate inside, I only saw a couple of residents in the activity room, and the doors were locked behind them which I didn't like. Overall, it was a beautiful place, because it was brand new. The staff was fine, she was the only one we talked to, the rooms were very nice, definitely adequate, but I didn't see a CNA or a nursing staff in the memory care area. I would definitely say, it was perfect for assisted living because that place was full and popping, but over in the memory care there was little activity. The dining area was nice, large, and very clean.

Village Veranda at Lady Lake was very nice and new. It was nicely done and very clean. The only thing is the location for me. However, everything was nice, and the tour was good. They had an indoor pool, which was nice.
