"My parents moved to Highpoint at Stonecrest. It's very nice, but just like any place, there are certain things that aren't great, but it's still a good facility. They need more organization over issues and taking care of different things as they happen, so that everybody's on the same page with care and everything. The meals are very good. They have an everyday menu with 10 different items on it, and then each day they have two or three items that are specials. So, there are plenty of choices. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. They have a lot of different activities like live entertainment, bingo, social events, trips to different places, and movies."

"I did an in-person visit of American House Wildwood. It was quite informative, and we had a good exchange of correspondence with the person who gave us the tour. It's just we're not quite ready for that yet. I didn't really get into any exchanges with any of the staff except for the person who gave us the tour. The rooms were plentiful. They had a swimming pool, card games, billiard tables, shuffleboard, a nice bar facility, nice restaurant, and little diner. It was pretty satisfying. I discussed some issues with the person who gave us the tour."

"My mom thought Lake Port Square was very clean and very pleasant. The staff was very helpful and informative. The residents weren’t doing anything when we went there, but they did say they had activities. Mom was very impressed with the dining area. I wouldn’t say it was the best we've seen, but it was good. "I toured Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle, and I would highly recommend it. It's very clean. I like the availability for the people using elevators. The rooms were nice. The staff was nice, and the food was good. I just like everything about it. That's the one that I would prefer. I think the rooms are very nice. It's a great location and easy to get to. They have bingo, music, food services, and all kinds of stuff. Transportation is included."

"I toured Sky Active Marion Woods. I liked the fact that it was very, very personable. The staff was very caring. It was homey. It's a little bit more like apartment-style rooms. The property is set back in a wooded area surrounding the building. The staff was very kind. They gave us a complimentary banana bread to bring home, and it was delicious. It seems very, very clean and the structure appears fine. It was a bright and friendly atmosphere."

"I am staying at Valencia Grove II. It is very nice, beautiful, and clean. I love it, but it's way too expensive. The manager used to be very nice, but now she's not accommodating. I asked her if she could try to get my rent lowered for me, and she said, "No, we don't do that." They have bingo. On holidays, they have a little get-together with food. They have a little fitness center and a lobby where they have bingo and parties."

"Hawthorne Estates of Ocala was nice. The rooms were nice and very spacious. I liked the screened patios for two reasons. It keeps bugs out and also, we have a family cat. They're very friendly and very knowledgeable staff. The food they were serving looked really good. We didn't have time to sit down and taste it, but it seemed like the crowd of residents were enjoying the food. The atmosphere was very open and less restrictive which is what is being recommended by mom's guardianship plan. The rooms are nice. It has a lot of what we were looking for in terms of the little patios that are screened in. It's a very small patio, but it was done very nicely. The care given to the actual rooms looked good. We just toured a model room, but it looked very top-notch."

"We went into Lake Ridge Village for about six months, but we decided that we're not just ready for that, so we went back to our house. The facility was excellent and it was close to where we live. They provided us three meals a day. "

"It had just recently been built. Everything was brand-spanking new, so it was in tip-top shape. It wasn't fully landscaped and had a lot of things that needed to be completed. The staff I met was very nice and new, so they couldn't answer all the questions I had, but they said they'd get answers. They had an exercise, television, and computer room, and a game room where people could play bingo or bridge."

"It was lovely. It's a newer facility. The dining room was lovely. The rooms were bright, but small. It could not accommodate our furniture. We needed enough room for our basic king-sized bed and my husband's wheelchair. They don't have a kitchen in the apartment, and they would not let me bring my cats. Their residents seemed to be sicker and needed more care than my husband and me. It would be a nice place to live. It just wasn't suited for us at that time."

"I toured The Oaks at Waterman Village. They've got a new section that is very much apartment living with all amenities. In the older section, I would be more inclined to go into it because their facilities are duplex housing with a carport. I will also be able to walk my dogs easily. They have dining facilities that allow you to get involved with your meal plan or choose what you want. Some people can choose one meal a day or two meals a day. The food is wonderful. The staff was pleasant, friendly, and young. They have a nice library. They have a nice community center. They have a club if you want to join all kinds of card games. They got pickleball, shuffleboard, nice swimming facilities, Yoga instruction, and exercise, pretty much anything anyone might want."

"We toured Lakeside at Waterman Village. It's very nice. They were wonderful and answered all our questions. They were great. We only met the director there. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. We saw two different rooms. There's nothing wrong with them, but one of them was like, brand new and it was claustrophobic. We both have a problem with claustrophobia, and we thought they were claustrophobic."

"The place in Hernando was beautiful, but you're stuck there. Your whole life is in the building. I liked that they had three different restaurants you can choose from and at different times. The building itself was beautiful. The apartment was very nice, but you're in the middle of nowhere. The staff was wonderful. The food was very good."
