"My parents moved to Highpoint at Stonecrest. It's very nice, but just like any place, there are certain things that aren't great, but it's still a good facility. They need more organization over issues and taking care of different things as they happen, so that everybody's on the same page with care and everything. The meals are very good. They have an everyday menu with 10 different items on it, and then each day they have two or three items that are specials. So, there are plenty of choices. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. They have a lot of different activities like live entertainment, bingo, social events, trips to different places, and movies."

"I did an in-person visit of American House Wildwood. It was quite informative, and we had a good exchange of correspondence with the person who gave us the tour. It's just we're not quite ready for that yet. I didn't really get into any exchanges with any of the staff except for the person who gave us the tour. The rooms were plentiful. They had a swimming pool, card games, billiard tables, shuffleboard, a nice bar facility, nice restaurant, and little diner. It was pretty satisfying. I discussed some issues with the person who gave us the tour."

"I toured Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle, and I would highly recommend it. It's very clean. I like the availability for the people using elevators. The rooms were nice. The staff was nice, and the food was good. I just like everything about it. That's the one that I would prefer. I think the rooms are very nice. It's a great location and easy to get to. They have bingo, music, food services, and all kinds of stuff. Transportation is included."

"I've been in Marion Woods for a month and a half now. It's fine. I don't have any problems or complaints. I am staying in a 150-square-foot apartment with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. They have a little exercise room and a swimming pool and enough things to do. The dining area is fine and homey. They have a lot of decor around the hall like pictures and things like that. It is nice. I play pool and walk, but there are a lot of things to do here. "

"I am staying at Valencia Grove II. It is very nice, beautiful, and clean. I love it, but it's way too expensive. The manager used to be very nice, but now she's not accommodating. I asked her if she could try to get my rent lowered for me, and she said, "No, we don't do that." They have bingo. On holidays, they have a little get-together with food. They have a little fitness center and a lobby where they have bingo and parties."

"Hawthorne Estates of Ocala was nice. The rooms were nice and very spacious. I liked the screened patios for two reasons. It keeps bugs out and also, we have a family cat. They're very friendly and very knowledgeable staff. The food they were serving looked really good. We didn't have time to sit down and taste it, but it seemed like the crowd of residents were enjoying the food. The atmosphere was very open and less restrictive which is what is being recommended by mom's guardianship plan. The rooms are nice. It has a lot of what we were looking for in terms of the little patios that are screened in. It's a very small patio, but it was done very nicely. The care given to the actual rooms looked good. We just toured a model room, but it looked very top-notch."

"We toured Canterfield of Ocala. The parking was convenient. I parked right outside the door that I went in. You walk through door, and they have a really nice lobby. The staff there got to us right away. They were super friendly. The dining room looked really nice. They showed me some pictures of the food my dad would be getting. The room was nice. They had several amenities, like a movie room."

"My dad is a resident and for the most part, it's awesome. They don't have very good telephone coverage for the old folks, and they have only one phone that everyone can use if they don't have a cellphone. Other than that, I've been thrilled with the way they know their clients and customers. We've been happy with the service so far. My dad's room is kind of like two rooms, and sort of like a studio because it has a bedroom area that's separate from the sitting area. It also has a little refrigerator and microwave in the kitchenette. It's very spacious and well lit, and there's a good-sized bathroom with a heated shower. It has everything he needs. From what I can tell, and from looking at the dining room, it seems to be a vibrant community. They have planned activities, and they were taking a group of people on a trip when I was there. They have a board with a list of everything that goes on every day, and my father also does therapy there a couple times a week. The place is very clean and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it."

"We went to The Oaks at Waterman Village. It's a neighborhood type community with garden homes or villas; it's not an apartment style community. It's very nice, very well established, and very well kept up. We had a very positive experience. The food was well prepared, well served, the portions were very nice and large, and there's a lot of choices."

"We toured Lakeside at Waterman Village. It's very nice. They were wonderful and answered all our questions. They were great. We only met the director there. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. We saw two different rooms. There's nothing wrong with them, but one of them was like, brand new and it was claustrophobic. We both have a problem with claustrophobia, and we thought they were claustrophobic."

"I liked everything here. It had everything that we wanted. The food was good, the room was good, and the price was right. They had movies and even Broadway shows."

"Watercrest Buena Vista was probably the best one that we toured. It was the most well-kept. The amenities were outstanding. Everything was excellent about it. In my opinion, it's a very, very nice place. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. They had like a garden area and an outside area where you could walk around."

"We are in a 55+ community called The Villages. We had friends that moved here, so we came down here. We tried it. We liked it, and we stayed. It's not an apartment. It's a community. Everybody has their own house, which is one of the things we like about it. You can have maintenance, which we do. You can have meals brought in. You can have cleaning service, laundry service, and trips to the grocery store. It's a golf cart community. We have our own golf cart, which we don't normally use, but that is an option. They also have a service that will take you shopping and to the doctor. They have a recreation center, which includes a gym and meeting rooms. If you want to have a get-together, they have party rooms. You can get whatever services you want to go with that. For example, you can have food and drinks brought in, or you can have none of that and bring in your own stuff. It's all very optional. They have many activities. They have 12 golf courses and bowling alleys. They have tons of stuff, so it's very good in that category."
