"American House Wildwood was very nice and it was a consideration. The people were very kind. They showed me and told me everything they had. They were very, very kind and showed us a couple of apartments and the dining area and gave us a folder. They had a swimming pool, a recreation room, a game room, a pool room, and a library. The downside of American House was it was too dark. The carpet, the apartment, and the entry foyer were dark, but I understand it's kind of the country area where it is located. They offer to take you to any place you want to go and they're building more and more out that direction. You've got Dollar Tree right out in front and you can buy almost anything you want, but you don't need anything if you're going in there as independent when they offer three meals a day."

"We visited Lake Port, and we thought that was very nice. Everything was very good there. The woman that took us around was excellent. Their whole facility to me was very impressive. The building was very nice. The things to do for the people living there looked to be plentiful. I just thought the set up was excellent. The people were nice, and the activities were good. "I am staying at Valencia Grove II. It is very nice, beautiful, and clean. I love it, but it's way too expensive. The manager used to be very nice, but now she's not accommodating. I asked her if she could try to get my rent lowered for me, and she said, "No, we don't do that." They have bingo. On holidays, they have a little get-together with food. They have a little fitness center and a lobby where they have bingo and parties."

"I toured Lake Ridge, I was happy with the place, and a staff member who toured me around was very thorough. She showed me a furnished unit, a couple of vacant ones, and so I saw how much space there is. My next step would be to take mom there. "

"I toured Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle, and I would highly recommend it. It's very clean. I like the availability for the people using elevators. The rooms were nice. The staff was nice, and the food was good. I just like everything about it. That's the one that I would prefer. I think the rooms are very nice. It's a great location and easy to get to. They have bingo, music, food services, and all kinds of stuff. Transportation is included."

"Marion Woods is very nice. I liked the people, the dining facilities, and all rooms have balconies with a nice view of the pool. We looked at the studio and one bedroom, and they were all very nice. The staff was nice and showed my mother around. They had a library, movies, bus trips, shopping, pool tables and a beauty parlor. They had everything she would need. "

"I have friends that live in Waterman Village, and they all like it. Everybody is satisfied and comfortable. I checked out the manors, the duplex houses, and the independent living, and I think they are wonderful. I tried the food, and it is wonderful. The staff is fine and good. They have all kinds of activities, and they are good. They have buses that will take you out to different places. I like it because I want independent living, and you have your own separate manor or a duplex, which I is an attached house, and you don't live in a high rise. Their location is near where I live now. It is in the same city, and it is close by. The whole place is good, but there's a waiting list to be in there. "

"We toured Lakeside at Waterman Village. It's very nice. They were wonderful and answered all our questions. They were great. We only met the director there. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. We saw two different rooms. There's nothing wrong with them, but one of them was like, brand new and it was claustrophobic. We both have a problem with claustrophobia, and we thought they were claustrophobic."

"I'm going to Hawthorne Estates, and I think I'm going to be very happy. The people were livelier than at any other place that I looked. The living situation is that your bed is not right out in the middle of the room. They have an alcove that the bed will go in, and then you have your living area free of a bed. It's set up very nicely. The price was amazing. It's $2100 for a studio and it's 4800 square feet. I couldn't do any better than that. I like the staff. They were all very welcoming. I had lunch there and two sets of people came over and said, "We're glad to see you here. Are you going to be joining us? We hope you come." They were just very gracious when they came over. I asked the director later, "Do you tell them to do that?" She said, "Nope, somebody started it, and the other people have just carried it on." That is such a nice thing. The residents seemed very friendly, but coming over to our table to talk with us was amazing. Nobody could be better to us than they were. The people were happy. The facility itself was clean, no smells, and it's well organized. I didn't see anything dirty at all in it. The rooms were painted. They had somebody who had left, and they were redoing the whole room. They said they paint, put new carpet in, and put shelving in. She let me look into it, but she said, "You can't come in because it's not in any way for us to show it to you." As soon as somebody leaves, they renovate the room immediately. The food was good, but my only objection was they have a large meal for lunch and a large meal for dinner; the alternate is also a large meal. They have a bistro. If you don't like what's going to be on the menu, you can get whatever you want at the bistro. They have sandwiches and soup, and you can have some eggs and things like that. They'll make that at the bistro for you. The residents' biggest complaint was that the food is too heavy. They said they're having a residents meeting, and they're going to bring it up again. The food was excellent. I just don't think they should have such excellent food all the time. The dining room was noisy because they were all enjoying each other."

"We put my father here, and it's wonderful. The staff is excellent. They call us for any little thing my dad might need or just to give an update on how he’s doing if he’s having a bad day. The apartment is really nice and has a nice window with a nice view. The food is excellent. The staff, from the cleaning staff to the RNs, are just wonderful. We’re very happy to have him in there. They’re exceptional. They have ice-cream socials in the memory care area where my dad lives. They have a history quiz and movie night with ice cream sodas, a library, and a "retrain your brain" activity every night, so they do a lot of things there."

"It had just recently been built. Everything was brand-spanking new, so it was in tip-top shape. It wasn't fully landscaped and had a lot of things that needed to be completed. The staff I met was very nice and new, so they couldn't answer all the questions I had, but they said they'd get answers. They had an exercise, television, and computer room, and a game room where people could play bingo or bridge."
