"American House Wildwood was very nice and it was a consideration. The people were very kind. They showed me and told me everything they had. They were very, very kind and showed us a couple of apartments and the dining area and gave us a folder. They had a swimming pool, a recreation room, a game room, a pool room, and a library. The downside of American House was it was too dark. The carpet, the apartment, and the entry foyer were dark, but I understand it's kind of the country area where it is located. They offer to take you to any place you want to go and they're building more and more out that direction. You've got Dollar Tree right out in front and you can buy almost anything you want, but you don't need anything if you're going in there as independent when they offer three meals a day."

"I toured Lake Port Square, and everybody was very friendly. The reason why we didn't choose there was because they only offered one type of housing. It was like a hotel, which we were not pleased about. Everything else was wonderful. I would give them a top score for everything."

"I toured Brookdale Chambrel Pinecastle, and I would highly recommend it. It's very clean. I like the availability for the people using elevators. The rooms were nice. The staff was nice, and the food was good. I just like everything about it. That's the one that I would prefer. I think the rooms are very nice. It's a great location and easy to get to. They have bingo, music, food services, and all kinds of stuff. Transportation is included."

"The rooms at Marion Woods are great. They have a nice dining room. Their food is great, they give you some choices. They have a swimming pool. They have card playing and all kinds of activities. "

"I visited The Oaks at Waterman Village. The tour guide, Cheryl, gives an excellent tour. She was very understanding, kind, and patient. She even took us to lunch there and she answered all our questions. They have a beautiful dining room and the staff was friendly. The food is excellent."

"We toured Lakeside at Waterman Village. It's very nice. They were wonderful and answered all our questions. They were great. We only met the director there. He was very professional and very knowledgeable. We saw two different rooms. There's nothing wrong with them, but one of them was like, brand new and it was claustrophobic. We both have a problem with claustrophobia, and we thought they were claustrophobic."

"I'm going to Hawthorne Estates, and I think I'm going to be very happy. The people were livelier than at any other place that I looked. The living situation is that your bed is not right out in the middle of the room. They have an alcove that the bed will go in, and then you have your living area free of a bed. It's set up very nicely. The price was amazing. It's $2100 for a studio and it's 4800 square feet. I couldn't do any better than that. I like the staff. They were all very welcoming. I had lunch there and two sets of people came over and said, "We're glad to see you here. Are you going to be joining us? We hope you come." They were just very gracious when they came over. I asked the director later, "Do you tell them to do that?" She said, "Nope, somebody started it, and the other people have just carried it on." That is such a nice thing. The residents seemed very friendly, but coming over to our table to talk with us was amazing. Nobody could be better to us than they were. The people were happy. The facility itself was clean, no smells, and it's well organized. I didn't see anything dirty at all in it. The rooms were painted. They had somebody who had left, and they were redoing the whole room. They said they paint, put new carpet in, and put shelving in. She let me look into it, but she said, "You can't come in because it's not in any way for us to show it to you." As soon as somebody leaves, they renovate the room immediately. The food was good, but my only objection was they have a large meal for lunch and a large meal for dinner; the alternate is also a large meal. They have a bistro. If you don't like what's going to be on the menu, you can get whatever you want at the bistro. They have sandwiches and soup, and you can have some eggs and things like that. They'll make that at the bistro for you. The residents' biggest complaint was that the food is too heavy. They said they're having a residents meeting, and they're going to bring it up again. The food was excellent. I just don't think they should have such excellent food all the time. The dining room was noisy because they were all enjoying each other."

"We really liked Brentwood at Fore Ranch. The people were super. It had a nice layout and memory care. They were very kind and willing to work with us. We worked with Young Marines, and when we had one of our drills there, they accommodated us to no end. We had invited the whole community, so people were coming in, many in wheelchairs, and enjoyed that event. The kids liked the food, too. They ate well that day. "

"Canterfield of Ocala had just recently been built. Everything was brand-spanking new, so it was in tip-top shape. It wasn't fully landscaped and had a lot of things that needed to be completed. The staff I met was very nice and new, so they couldn't answer all the questions I had, but they said they'd get answers. They had an exercise, television, and computer room, and a game room where people could play bingo or bridge."

"We looked at The Villages. I liked the facility, all of the amenities that accompanied it, and the location. It was independent living, so you would have a one-bedroom apartment. I would recommend it because I liked the location, and it had a lot of amenities and activities going on. "

"I live in Lakes at Leesburg and the cost of the housing now is almost out of reach. There are no meals, but there is a community clubhouse and security at the gate. I have no complaints. It is a manufactured home community. There are approximately 600 houses here. We only had one second of an outage of electricity during the last storm, which is good. The staff is always good. There are quite a few activities, if you want to participate. Value for money is good. If this house sold and new people moved in, they'd have to pay the current rent. It would be about $200 more a month than I'm paying right now. They have a golf course, a clubhouse, golf activities, potlucks, bingo at the clubhouse, concerts, choir, and things like that."

"We visited Watercrest Buena Vista to see their memory care for my cousin's husband. It's in the middle of The Villages. They have live entertainment that comes in to entertain the guests and the people living there. Everything in this place was impeccable and clean. All the places we looked at, like the rooms and the open areas for the people living there, were nice and clean. The place was very cheerful. The staff was wonderful as well."

"Trinity Springs is bright and the room that Mom had was spacious with good closet space. They had activities if someone's able to go. People seemed pretty nice. The facility was clean. They have a dining room where they do their meals and an auditorium that seats about 75 where they have meetings and film. Some of the food was good. Some of it was just OK."
