"Because Carriage House was new, it was beautiful and very pretty. Their dining room was also beautiful. They did have wonderful activities for their residents. I really love the staff there. They were very warm and personable. They really know how to sell the place. Even though we haven't been back there, we got a call from the person who showed us around. There were lots of followups, invitations, and calls. I did eat there and the food was not as good as the other facility. However, the people that I met and talked to were pleased enough to live there. With regards to accommodations, they don't have washers-dryers in their apartments. They did have a laundry facility section on your floor. They also don't have a stove. They only have a refrigerator and a microwave. They have a kitchenette and not a kitchen. "

"The people at Steeplechase were nice. They answered any questions we had and gave us a tour. As far as, I know it seems the places we visited have the same as far as security. I believe they lock the door at nine at night, and the residents have their own entrance path to get in or out after that time. Everyone has their own apartment and you'd only share it if you are married. They didn't have washers and dryers in their units. There is a laundry mat type of room where everyone can go to do their own laundry, but you didn't have your own machine in your apartment. It will be an elderly person hauling their laundry down the hallway. At any rate, it will be hard for my mom to carry her laundry out of her apartment to do it. We did not taste any of the food, and I believe they have the same idea as far as there are certain windows of time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. "

"My parents moved to Highpoint at Stonecrest. It's very nice, but just like any place, there are certain things that aren't great, but it's still a good facility. They need more organization over issues and taking care of different things as they happen, so that everybody's on the same page with care and everything. The meals are very good. They have an everyday menu with 10 different items on it, and then each day they have two or three items that are specials. So, there are plenty of choices. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. They have a lot of different activities like live entertainment, bingo, social events, trips to different places, and movies."

"I toured The Oaks at Waterman Village. They've got a new section that is very much apartment living with all amenities. In the older section, I would be more inclined to go into it because their facilities are duplex housing with a carport. I will also be able to walk my dogs easily. They have dining facilities that allow you to get involved with your meal plan or choose what you want. Some people can choose one meal a day or two meals a day. The food is wonderful. The staff was pleasant, friendly, and young. They have a nice library. They have a nice community center. They have a club if you want to join all kinds of card games. They got pickleball, shuffleboard, nice swimming facilities, Yoga instruction, and exercise, pretty much anything anyone might want."

"Lakeside Retirement Community has a variety of different buildings with different styles and home sizes. It also has separate houses or villas, and those are on the waterfront of a lake. They have great dining options and amenities. They will also be able to share the amenities over on the other side; another community, they have multiple choices. What's nice is it's in the process of being built, so they're all brand new. They have a pool in construction and an exercise area. They're also going to be building a pickleball court, a bocce ball, and a shuffleboard on the other side. They're going to have a sports bar along with their dining options."

"I went to The Summit of Winter Garden. The staff takes the time to talk to you and explain everything to you. The people working there, I feel more comfortable talking to them. They really care. They have a gym and they have an outside where you can sit down, and it's really good."

"I loved Brookdale Wekiwa Springs. It was welcoming and very homey, even though they were doing some renovations at the time. It was something that we'll look into when the time comes for my mom to actually move into a senior living place. The amenities looked very nice and very well put together. "My wife and I moved in at Arya windermere few days ago. we are here almost for a week. we are very comfortable and feel very safe. The staff is very helpful and our check in process was very smooth. Catherine, leasing consultant was extermely helpful . she walked us thru every step very patiently. They have numerous activities. This is our first experience to live in a independent living. The apartment is beautiful, it's one of the nicest places I've been to. we are close to our grandchildren and they can visit us anytime. They have a library, swimming pool, massage parlor, a sauna or steam room, and they have a workout room.Everyone I have met so far is very very nice."

"I went to Florida Golden Adult Care yesterday and I like it. The home was very clean and very clean smelling. It was a spacious home. The caretakers seemed very nice. They had a large living room with a big TV for the patients, and they had an outdoor patio and a big yard in the back, which was nice. The room they showed me was just a small bedroom with two twin beds, so it was for two patients. They had a TV though. It's a very nice home."

"Every time we (my family) walked in to the facility we were very kindly greeted and they would take all of our information for the security of there patients. The nursing assistants where very caring and gentle which meant a lot to our family. They do a very good job of creating a safe enjoyable environment for our elderly, because of the size of the facility they can walk trails around nice ponds and enjoy having lots of room inside the facility. They have all levels of ALF care and I had a good experience while my great-grandmother was staying in that facility. Furthermore Every facility is going to have its lazy workers which there was definitely a few at this facility but the pros outweigh the cons. I would recommend this facility to someone in the Ocala area that is looking to put a loved one in an ALF... "

"Hawthorne Estates of Ocala was nice. The rooms were nice and very spacious. I liked the screened patios for two reasons. It keeps bugs out and also, we have a family cat. They're very friendly and very knowledgeable staff. The food they were serving looked really good. We didn't have time to sit down and taste it, but it seemed like the crowd of residents were enjoying the food. The atmosphere was very open and less restrictive which is what is being recommended by mom's guardianship plan. The rooms are nice. It has a lot of what we were looking for in terms of the little patios that are screened in. It's a very small patio, but it was done very nicely. The care given to the actual rooms looked good. We just toured a model room, but it looked very top-notch."
