"Pendry Estate Assisted Living Facility is a beautiful Spanish style home located on 11 acres, in Lake County, Florida. My mother is a resident at Pendry, and will tell you that she has so much respect for Mel D, the owner of Pendry. My mother is a retired nurse, and former director of nursing and nursing home administrator. Mom is the first to give her unsolicited praise of the kind and compassionate care delivered at Pendry. If you visit before lunch, you will first notice the delicious smells as you enter the front door. You will likely find Mel in the kitchen chopping fresh vegetables, and putting the finishing touches on something mouthwatering simmering on the stove. The home is immaculately kept, and has an open floor plan with Spanish tile floors throughout the common areas. There are eight private bedrooms, each with a large roll-in shower. Most of the rooms overlook a heated pool, just beyond a large wrap-around porch, complete with a built-in brick barbeque. Mel encourages the families and friends of the residents to take full advantage of the amenities Pendry has to offer, including the barbeque and pool. Pendry is truly like a home. Our regular visits have given us numerous opportunity to witness the great care given to all of the residents (anytime of day, any day of the week)!"

"Hunt Trace Senior Living was very nice. It's 5 to 10 minutes from my area. The facilities were great. The manager there was great. Everything was great, but the asking price was too much. The staff was excellent. The apartments that they've shown were small, but they were OK. They showed us all the amenities, the common areas, and things like that. It was all very good, but their minimum was like $4,400 a month, and that's not in our ballpark."

"Upon entering Brookdale Wekiwa Springs, we were greeted with a smile and saw many smiling faces in the common space. We noticed a staff member having a cup of coffee and sharing conversations with some residents, and a cook from the kitchen participating with another group of residents building puzzles. Many seem engaged. Our first impression was positive, and it felt like we had enetered the family room of one of our homes. There is a cozy feeling and an inviting environment. Throughout the time we were there, we were greeted by many staff members, identified by there name badges. Unfortunately, there weren’t many activities at the time of our visit, there were things listed on the schedule, but we didn’t see any of them taking place. The apartments we saw felt very spacious and we enjoyed learning about Brookdales Optimum Care philosophy. We look forward to having our mom become a resident at Welisha Springs"

"I visited Highpoint at Stonecrest. They have a swimming pool, and it's beautiful and new. I liked everything that I saw. The whole facility is a five plus. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, and very informative. Everything about it was professional. I did see the dining room. It's like a restaurant. The cleanliness was superior. We went in the lobby, which was very well organized, clean, and well maintained. There's plenty of seating. They had a snack bar in there. It's like a hotel lobby. To me it was superior. The only drawback I saw was that the cost to stay there was too expensive from what I can afford."

"My parents have moved into A Banyan Residence. What I like best is that the whole facility is enclosed. My mom has dementia. She's not a wanderer yet, but we don't have to worry about it. What I like least is that the units are so small. Every time I'm there, I eat and it is awesome. The activities are great. My parents are not yet good about joining in the activities, but the ones that they have done, they love especially the music. They have live music and that's one of their favorites. Value for money is good."

"Buffalo Crossings Assisted Living is a fairly new building. As an assisted living, we could get a two-bedroom apartment, but the rooms were a lot smaller than what we are used to. The food was good. We saw the activities available, but we didn't see them doing it. It's a beautiful community."

"I went to The Summit of Winter Garden. The staff takes the time to talk to you and explain everything to you. The people working there, I feel more comfortable talking to them. They really care. They have a gym and they have an outside where you can sit down, and it's really good."

"Speaking and dealing with Elizabeth, the sales director at Inspired Living at Ocoee, has been nothing but a very good experience. The staff has been extremely helpful. The facility is very calming and they have a lot of activities to work on different parts of the brain, which is very important. They have cooking, and gardening and they even had a hurricane party to get them through during the hurricane. The memory care was perfect because it's all on one floor. It's basically in a U-shape, and then there's a big closed-in screen porch. There's a very long courtyard with a gazebo in the middle of it, and the residents can have the independence to go out there. They have flowers and plants everywhere, and bird feeders. The atmosphere all around is beautiful. The landscaping is beautiful, too."

"Holiday Bay was very nice. There was a very nice reception when I got there. I had lunch there and the food was very good. I did see a room and it was nice too. The staff seemed very competent. Yes, I would recommend this place to others. "

"My parents were here, and it was far superior, but my father's level of care exceeded what they could provide, so they were forced to move. It was brand new, very active, the food was good, and they had a lot of activities and good transportation that takes people places. They had a bus, but they also just had a car like if you just needed to go to the store, somebody could take you. There was entertainment for everybody. Somebody came in from four to five every night, plays the piano and sings, so they have a happy hour every night with beer, wine, soda, and then they could get away from there into the dining room. They also have a movie theater so they can go every night to the movies, popcorn, theater seating; it's very nice. They would still be there except that he exceeded the level of care that they could provide. I wouldn't say the rooms were overly spacious, but they were nice."
