"Horizon Bay has a lot of people moving out right now. They raised the room cost last December and are raising them again in April. I am not really happy with them. My mother is not there anymore. The rooms were nice and some of the staff is very good, but my biggest complaint is that they don’t reward the ones that do well. They make them all put their tips in a jar to share them with the people who don’t care. They just painted the buildings, so it seems to be clean all the time. The food is terrible. They charge for anybody to eat there, and the food isn’t worth $4. "

"I visited. They were very, very nice and friendly. The only thing is they didn't have all the extra amenities. They have outings and stuff like that. It was a very nice place. It just wasn't for my mom. I don't want to make them not be good because they may be good for somebody else. The staff was wonderful, just like we knew them for a while. They accommodated us because I couldn't make it during the day. What they did was they came back that night and accommodated us. We didn't get there until like 6:00 and we were supposed to be there at 5:00 because we got lost. They were accommodating. They didn't have an attitude about it. They were going through some renovations. They were updating everything."

"My husband moved into The Grove at Trelago. It's a beautiful place. The residents are well taken care of. They engage the residents. I don't worry about my husband wandering off anywhere because they're watched. The food is excellent. The care is excellent. I have absolutely nothing but praise for them. The staff members are very caring and good with the residents. They have gardens that they can walk through, but it's still confined. Outside their apartments, they have shadow boxes into which they can put memorabilia. It's very well done. The food is outstanding. They have pools, and it looks like a resort. They keep them busy with activities."

"I visited this facility looking for an adequate accommodation for my father in the possibly near future. I was able to use a GPS to find my way to the facility. It was not hard or confusing to find. The entrance to the property was open and made it easy to spot and locate. Upon entering I was immediately impressed with how clean and lavish the interior was. The ceilings were high and the rooms were spacious. We took a general tour of the main area. The dining area was beautiful and had numerous tables for all the guests. The decor was exceptional. It matched the environment appropriately and added a nice sense of class. The pool was large and very clean. It would be a nice spot to go to while visiting my dad. The property backs up to a smaller lake that added a nice sense of peace and tranquility. Although I never took the time to view the rooms for the residents, I felt this place had lots of great things to offer. It is a little bit further away but still close enough where I am comfortable with having my relative stay here. I would still keep this as an option for residency. "

"Emeritus at Ocoee was a beautiful facility. It was bright with a lot of lights and chandeliers. It had a cheery atmosphere. It was an uplifting and cheerful place. At that time, bingo was going on. In terms of price, I think it's a little high. Emeritus though is a secure place. They have some type of sign in books. Until they get to know you, you don't have to sign it anymore. "

"My tour at Florida Golden Adult Care went very well. I liked that it was a neighborhood, in that my aunt wouldn't get lost in a giant building. The place was very clean. The staff who toured us was very welcoming and informative. I was given a tour of the house. She showed me the complete facility. The dining area was clean and welcoming. There's a nice big backyard with a screened-in porch to eat out, and there's a TV, too."

It is luxurious, high end, and it meets the needs of people who are looking for that kind of facility. I would absolutely recommend them. They are nothing but accommodating, and the staff was great. "My Aunt is a resident here at The Palms of Longwood, even though I haven't visited as often as I would like, my heart goes out to all of The Palms employees. The care givers are awesome and have been for many years. My mother, god rest her sole, was a resident several years ago before the change of hands. Many of the same wonderful people are still here - caring for my mothers sister!! Alex the medicine man, Pam, my wonderful person, Carmen and Rachel are my Aunts care givers. I just can't express how happy I am for my family. Thank you all ! "

"I visited Wayman Place. What was really wonderful is we got there just before they were getting ready to do lunch. They had some people in the area where they do the meals, and some of the staff were bringing some of the people who needed a little bit more help. Everybody was so happy and cheerful and they were calling out to people by name and just being very, very caring. The people seemed very happy. It also did not smell at all. Everything was nice, bright, and clean. Everyone that we ran into was so kind, courteous, and had a wonderful demeanor. You didn't see anybody who was cranky or unhappy whatsoever. The people who resided there looked so happy, the people who worked there looked so happy, and it was such a difference compared to some of the places that we had toured. I had a great interaction with the staff; a lot of personal caring from them and calling to check on my cousin to see how he's progressing. There was a lot of information maneuvering through this because it's not easy at all and nobody gives you the book with all the steps you have to do. They were able to tell me a lot of what to expect and what I needed to do. They were really very helpful to let me know what things I needed to look out for and how to be able to make the transition the best, and to be able to take care of my cousin the best for his benefit. Everybody was so wonderful. When there's genuine smile and care, you can see it in a person. The hallway was nice and wide. Each of the areas where each of the residents live was kind of unique to that person, so there was a little personalization. We took a tour to some of the different common areas and some of the things that they have available for the residents to do. Everything looked so nice. It was like you were in a really big, elegant home and not in an assisted living facility."

"Inspired Living at Ocoee was the first one that reached out to me. The place was beautiful. They have a lot going on for the residents. It's a good community. You've got people that can move around and they offer tons of amenities. It's got a heated pool, a putting green, pool tables, other game tables, and entertainment at night. It's ala carte dining where you don't get a schedule. So when you're hungry, you just go down and eat. It's like a restaurant. The place is fabulous and I'm in love with it so much. The head nurse is wonderful. Her name is Holly. Elizabeth is really sweet, too. They've got laundry rooms on every floor, and I've seen residents doing their own laundry. It's just very active and they have two family rooms where if the family wants to get together for a birthday party or something, they can go there. There are refrigerators to put drinks in and they could just serve food, and be all together instead of being stuffed in one little room. They have the whole area to enjoy. It's a pretty cool setup."

"Our experience at Brookdale Lake Mary is excellent. It doesn't feel like a nursing home; it is more conducive to home life. The staff is excellent, very attentive, very friendly, and very professional. They have people who come in and entertain them. They also have a salon, an exercise room, and a dining room that is set up like you're in a restaurant. The food is OK. The value for money is good for what we receive. Value is definitely there."

"The Summit of Winter Garden was the best of the places I visited. They made sure I knew right away that they did not take Medicaid. The person who did the tour was very knowledgeable about what was going on. She was very good. The apartments were laid out well. They had a few advantages over most of the others. They had balconies on every apartment and laundry in the bathroom. Everything was set up very nicely. The dining area was very nice, too. Then I went into one of their activities rooms. They had a pool table, and someone came in to play. She showed me around most of the activity rooms and all three floors. They really had a lot a lot of things going for them."
