I like the community of Brookdale Altamonte Springs. The personnel were very courteous and the salesperson was very informative. It seemed like an ideal place for my sister. The rooms were nice, clean, very warm, very comfortable, and so homely. It's a nice facility. I was very pleased with it. They informed me about their sample menu, what they serve for different meals, and the time and then the activities that they offer, and the services. I was also very pleased with that. The salesperson was very thorough with the information he provided. I wouldn't mind being there myself. That seems like an ideal community.

I loved Brookdale Altamonte Springs, it's beautiful, but I can't afford it. I loved what goes with it, the cleanliness. It was a very, very well-kept place. You have your breakfast, lunch, and dinner down there. The room sizes were pretty, pretty good. I didn't see the activities, but she (staff) did say they play cards and do movies, but other than that, I don't know what other activities they have. I saw where they eat, a beauty salon, and an exercise area. The dining area looked very clean, and very good. It had outdoor space. They did have a garden.

I went to Brookdale Altamonte Springs. Tracy was lovely and extremely knowledgeable. It's a little too expensive for my mother, but it was beautiful. I had a beautiful tour there. It's not a locked facility. They immediately say, "Hello. What can I do? What do you need? Or are you looking for anybody?" They got Tracy for me immediately. It's huge. We walked all over the place and looked at all the rooms. One of the things that I thought was cute was that they had these little shelves outside of people's doors, and the people decorate them. I would say that is a cute thing that really amazed me, so you can express who you are, and people look forward to seeing what you put on your shelf for the holidays. I looked at their dining area. The staff told me that someone comes every two weeks and plays the piano there. They also have dancing. They keep them busy.

I loved Brookdale Altamonte Springs. I really liked it, but the problem is they are private completely. They were very informative when they sent me to different sources, like how to get the Medicaid faster. She was very informative and she was very nice. The rooms were absolutely nice. I liked the one-bedroom-one-bath, but even the studio is big enough for one person with everything. Maintenance was very good. The staff was excellent. Actually, that day, they were going to a restaurant that I really like. It's a German restaurant. They have activities every day. They have crafts for the ladies. They had a beauty salon. They told me they do bingo beside crafts. The library is pretty good with a lot of books. I think it's a really good place.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into Brookdale Altamonte Springs. We picked it because it's smaller, it was very clean, and inviting. But the number one thing is their manager. He is engaged, participatory, and he's out and about. I have seen him serving meals, and I have watched him vacuum the floors. He gave some of his housekeepers the week off, and he and the maintenance manager did the housekeeping, and that has set a fabulous standard for that facility. Everybody pitches in, and they do whatever needs to be done. They also have a great chef. My mother is a foodie and loves to cook, and she has loved the food. They had a Mother's Day tea, and Friday nights are always wine night. My mom plays bingo, she participates in their church service every Sunday morning, she has her hair done once a week, and she's played some other games. They've an ice cream social, too. She doesn't participate in everything, but the ones that appeal to her, she does. The manager has a poker game with some of them once a week. The value for money is another thing. The costs were reasonable for the services. And we really liked the size of the facility, it's not huge. I would highly recommend them.

My grandmother is in Brookdale Altamonte Springs. It's very small, it has a homier feel, and they provide her with everything. She gets all her meals. If she wants to cook food, the chef will give her the ingredients to do it herself. There's a big courtyard she can walk around in. There's bingo, a hairstylist, they do Rummikub, all different kinds of games, they have wine nights and live music, so she enjoys it. Her apartment is very nice.

We had a great tour experience at Brookdale Altamonte Springs. We thoroughly enjoyed the sales director, and we got to meet the director of the facility. We enjoyed the entire tour. She was excellent. She was the best that we encountered of the seven we talked to. She was excellent from start to finish. She's the model everyone should be like, she just went overboard, and just went the extra mile in areas, so she was really great. We liked everything about their facility. It's a clean facility. It's an updated facility. They have more of a homey, personalized environment. That was at the top of our list. So we found everything to be in great order there. She was the only one that offered us food and that got us lunches, and so we got to try the food. It was very good.

My wife is at Brookdale Altamonte Springs and it is a very good one. The staff is very good, I don't have any problem with them, they are all very good people. I go up there every night to visit and the place is perfect, clean and in a beautiful location. They have activities like trivia, but my wife does not do too many of them. They also have a beautiful garden area. The food is very good, too. The manager does a super job; we have no cases of Covid and he has done a super job of protecting the residents.

Brookdale Altamonte Springs was very nice, clean, and well taken care of. They had different exercises and structured memory activities. The cafeteria was very nice. It looked like a small restaurant. It was very nice and clean. We were able to have free lunch with them, and the food was very flavorful. The cafeteria was on the main floor, so you just have to take the elevator down to get there. The apartments were very nice, very comfortable, and clean. There were some occupancies available so we were able to see the empty ones, e.g., a studio and a one-bedroom. They were roomy and very comfortable. The gentleman who met with us provided us with a lot of information.

If you can't live at home, it's the next best thing! I really enjoy my apartment and the kind staff. They let you decorate the front of your apartment and I've taken full advantage of it. I love going to the movies every night and being an active member of the movie committee.

My mom enjoyed her time living at the community. Her room was spacious and even had a full size kitchen. The community was very active, especially on their theme nights. I never had to worry while she was living there, the staff always looked out for my mom. Thanks for everything!

Brookdale Altamonte Springs was all right. I only met with the director, and she was very nice. It was a large place, and I wanted a more intimate place for my husband. The dining room was big, and everybody was in it. I didn’t like that kind of setup.

My mother has been at Horizon Bay for about one year. I am a registered nurse and think the staff does a great job for their residents. I am a registered nurse and think the staff does a great job. Anne G. the executive director is responsive to issues as they arise. Rich, the activities director does a great job creating and finding entertainment. The nurses and aides seem caring and professional. My mother loves the fresh soup made daily. My only suggestion would be for the corporate offices of Brookedale Assisted living to put money into new elevators that don't break constantly and automatic door openers for the public bathroom doors in the lobby. They are very heavy and difficult for those in wheelchairs to open. The doors to the courtyard are equally cumbersome and need on automatic door opener. I will give 5 stars based on the care and staff who work there.

At first the facility and staff seemed caring. Some of the daytime aides are excellent in patient care where the evening and night aides do not always seem to have the same patient care standards. The office staff is far from being helpful, and really concerned for the residents. The female office manager avoids all conflict and passes residents or family members to the head of nursing if the male manager is not on site. If housekeeping is gone for the day.. they advise the "disabled" resident to use the public bathroom and their bathroom would be cleaned in the morning. UNACCEPTABLE for resident care, and for the amount of money they are charging every month.

We found Horizon Bay Altamonte Springs for my parents, and we are very satisfied with it. We chose it because it was close to us. It's very clean and very neat. It had been remodeled. It had a little kitchenette for them, and it was just everything they wanted. They have many activities like church, arts and crafts, games, and movies. The staff had all been very helpful and nice. The food for the most part is highly satisfactory.

Horizon Bay was very nice. I was there for lunch, and the luncheon was very nice. I was very pleased with the young woman who waited on me. The thing I like about it was they also had assisted living. The rooms were small, and they had an unusual arrangement, but I could see where it would function nicely. I had not observed any activities, but it sounded as if they had some very nice ones. Another thing I thought was interesting was from the outside, it looked like it was a huge building. It was a large building, but it was not as large as it appears because they had an inner courtyard which I thought was very nice. The food was delicious. The dining room was very nice as well. It was one large area, but it was not like a big hall. I did not really ask about security, but I think that it would be a secure living place due to the way the building was built.

The surroundings of Horizon Bay were beautiful. It looks like they have great activities, but when we visited, there was a virus going around, so we couldn't see too much of it. They would not take my ex-husband because he could not transfer or stand on his own. The rooms and apartment were beautiful, homey, and spacious. The dining room setup was beautiful. We only met the admissions person, and she was helpful. The place is beautiful, and we would have been very happy if we could have gotten him there, but when they went through all the processes they said he could not qualify. As for security, you have to sign in before you can come in there.

DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE TO HORIZON BAY Our family member has lived at horizon bay for over four years The first few years were more than we can ask for. Wonderful employees that cared and would do anything for the residents Then everything changed when brookdale became the new owner. They only care about one thing, money. Not the residents. It's a revolving door with the people that work there because they treat them horribly I know no place is perfect but this place is the bottom of the barrel and should be shut down.

Horizon Bay Altamonte Springs was OK. I didn’t spend as much time there, but nothing really caught my eye. The rooms were smaller and I was able to see the dining area and it was OK. I like the fact that it looked like in a community. I also like the fact that it's near a post office, so that was very convenient for residents who have mail. Things were accessible as far as being able to take a little walk and have things within reach, and that was pretty nice. The staff seemed very nice.

I enjoyed the ambiance of Horizon Bay Altamonte Springs. The staff was great. They gave us a very welcoming visit, and I even took a friend there. We had lunch a couple of times, because I went there at two different times with two different friends of ours, and the food was very good. They had different rooms where activities were going on. I didn't look in to see what they were. They gave us the list of the activities, and they seemed to be very involved. The rooms were adequate, and the one they showed us was a one-bedroom with a kitchen, dining area, and a balcony.

Horizon Bay is actually a safety hazard. Safety is something they could improve on. It is a bunch of little apartments that connect via breezeway. We looked at it because it came up pretty good on the reviews, but when I got there, the front door had a safety hazard; it is on a hill. I saw too many people walking out with walkers and starting to fall. Also, it stank. Nothing impressed me at Horizon Bay. The buildings were connected by an open breezeway, so if residents leave the dining room to go back to their apartments, they walk through rain, snow, or whatever. It was too slippery on the walkway. They need to improve a lot of that. The apartments themselves were adequate. They were a little larger than some, but it was not worth it.

I thought Horizon Bay in Montgomery was wonderful and their rooms were gorgeous, but you never know once you get in this facility. I can only comment on the physical aspect of what I saw. From the outside, everything looked beautiful. The staff was okay. They were a little warmer than the others I saw from the other facility. However, I don't have the experience so I can't give a good review not knowing what the entry level workers are like because they're the ones that come in contact with the residents on a regular basis. Regarding activities, they did have exercise room and they said that they have a person there that guided things, but I didn't see them.

I loved the experience when I went there. It was very clean and lively which was a good change of pace from the other places I visited. The staff was pleasant and some of the occupants was doing crafts with other occupants there. The staff was very attentive to there needs and seemed generally caring to the elderly there. I was very happy with what I saw and will be choosing this facility for my mother.

We happened to be in the area and decided to stop in to see Horizon Bay Altamonte Springs assisted living facility while searching for a place for my friend's mother to live. The building had a southern stately charm about it - nicely landscaped grounds, with nice trees and shrubs. The ultra high ceilings really gave the place a grand feel, like a five star hotel. The entire interior design seemed designed to be easily navigated and each room had nice views. Activity rooms we all nice sized and pleasant for social activities. The mild weather allows residents to enjoy walks along the beach and spend time outdoors just about any time they like. The staff often takes residents on many outings into the region's community to enjoy all that it has to offer. From sight seeing to nature walks and cultural events, the staff appeared to accommodate all levels of ambulation. The pastel design in the dining area was fresh. Residents are offered great food that looked and smelled delicious. The menus included food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, and whenever requested. The residents are encouraged to enjoy physical activity as much as possible. They also offer yoga and aerobics classes, sometimes held outdoors. Private rooms featured nicely decorated surroundings, with sunny, airy views. All had lots of natural light. Every resident appeared to be very well cared for in a peaceful, yet fun environment by kind, caring and attentive staff.
