"My Aunt is a resident here at The Palms of Longwood, even though I haven't visited as often as I would like, my heart goes out to all of The Palms employees. The care givers are awesome and have been for many years. My mother, god rest her sole, was a resident several years ago before the change of hands. Many of the same wonderful people are still here - caring for my mothers sister!! Alex the medicine man, Pam, my wonderful person, Carmen and Rachel are my Aunts care givers. I just can't express how happy I am for my family. Thank you all ! "

"I visited Wayman Place. What was really wonderful is we got there just before they were getting ready to do lunch. They had some people in the area where they do the meals, and some of the staff were bringing some of the people who needed a little bit more help. Everybody was so happy and cheerful and they were calling out to people by name and just being very, very caring. The people seemed very happy. It also did not smell at all. Everything was nice, bright, and clean. Everyone that we ran into was so kind, courteous, and had a wonderful demeanor. You didn't see anybody who was cranky or unhappy whatsoever. The people who resided there looked so happy, the people who worked there looked so happy, and it was such a difference compared to some of the places that we had toured. I had a great interaction with the staff; a lot of personal caring from them and calling to check on my cousin to see how he's progressing. There was a lot of information maneuvering through this because it's not easy at all and nobody gives you the book with all the steps you have to do. They were able to tell me a lot of what to expect and what I needed to do. They were really very helpful to let me know what things I needed to look out for and how to be able to make the transition the best, and to be able to take care of my cousin the best for his benefit. Everybody was so wonderful. When there's genuine smile and care, you can see it in a person. The hallway was nice and wide. Each of the areas where each of the residents live was kind of unique to that person, so there was a little personalization. We took a tour to some of the different common areas and some of the things that they have available for the residents to do. Everything looked so nice. It was like you were in a really big, elegant home and not in an assisted living facility."

"I'm in Cascade Heights. The food is excellent. All the people that work here are topnotch. They keep it clean. They have a lot of activities. They have buses to take you to different places. It's got everything you need. I have the apartment with a den. Everything I have fits perfectly. They have different apartment sizes. Any problem you have, they take care of it immediately."

"I went to Marina Isle Waterfront Assisted Living. It's brand new. They were convenient to where I live. Everything was really nice. The rooms were very nice. It's right by the waterfront, so the views by the windows are terrific. The marketing lady was very nice. It was a really nice place. They had an area where you can have haircuts and your nails done. They had nurses and a nurse office. They had different therapies and a room for that. Their dining room was very nice, and it had a coffee/bar area with tables and chairs. They had a bar where you can get drinks and snacks, which was something I haven't seen before; that was nice."

"Brookdale Lake Orienta is easily accessible. The people appeared to be very nice and very friendly. The facilities appeared to be very clean and very organized. The restaurant type of eating facility was very impressive. The only thing I didn't like too much was the fact that I had to provide everything, like the furniture. For some people, that's very convenient because then you can bring your own stuff, but for the price they're asking, I think they should provide the furnishings, too, because the price is not low. The building is old, but it's well maintained. The size of the rooms was fair."

"Room was spotless as was the whole facility. Having spent just over a week as a short term booking, I can highly recommend it The staff are very very kind. Christine"

"I looked at independent living at Brookdale Altamonte Springs, but they have assisted living there, too. The prices were pretty good on the rent and they didn't have any upfront fee. The rooms were smaller though and not as nice as the other place. They're in the process of making it so that you couldn't cook a meal in your kitchen except with a microwave, and I don't like that. I want to be able to cook if I feel like it. The closets are pretty small and they don't have any storage facilities. I felt that the kitchen cupboards are so small that I'd end up having to put some pots and pans in the closet, and then the closet off the kitchen is pretty small, so then I wouldn't have room for any clothes in that closet. The grounds were OK. The dining room was big. The view of the lake is kind of shielded by trees, but there is a lake there. They have activities. The staff members were friendly, and they're interacting with the residents."

"We like Bridgeport Senior Living-Port Cardiff Llc because it's an actual home environment and they've got a couple of caregivers for every three people. They're making sure mom gets up and gets out into the living room with everybody else or out of the kitchen when they're eating and stuff. They keep it very spotless there and it's just a pretty home. The outdoors is very beautiful. It's very pretty going there, on the front side and the back side. It's been too hot to sit out on the porch right now, but they've got pretty birds back there. The landscape is very pretty. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. Amanda oversees the home and recently we had to have a mobile dental service come in and she tries to make sure she's there or is aware of what's going on. When I can't be there, I know that she tries to be there for those extra services. She had to have an in-house X-ray done and I happened to be there when they were doing that. They're very nice and very sweet people. We just moved mom from one side of the room to the other side and they went ahead and did that for us. They made sure that her bed was moved over and everything was moved over for her. They have bathrooms where they give them showers, a nice living room, and several reclining chairs so that the residents can sit in a nice chair while they're in the living room. It's like your normal house so it doesn't feel like you're in a hospital or something. I know they have a menu that they try to go by, but if they don't like the food, they try to accommodate what they like. I know they have served her oatmeal for breakfast, for instance, because they know she likes oatmeal. They have activities for them to get involved with, which is nice. They bring in people and Amanda has sent me pictures of my mom doing some of the activities. The price we pay is up there with the other bigger facilities, probably about the same, but she's getting more attention and they get to know each other in the home because it's on a smaller scale."

"The Watermark at Vistawilla was very clean, very organized, and smelled good. We met the medical staff and our tour guide, they're all very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The facility is jaw-droppingly beautiful. It's very close to the 417, which is a major state road, and of course, that's close to hospitals and close to restaurants. It's also 5 minutes away from my father's home."

"I toured Brookdale Wekiwa Springs. What I liked most was that the facility was clean. The one apartment they showed me would be perfect for a single person. Also, they had a calendar of activities and transportation to and from medical appointments. The staff seemed happy with their job. I was greeted by a receptionist, and she was very pleasant, was on time with the appointment, and was prepared. She had brochures, and she wasn't reading. She knew the content. She's a good listener. She paid attention to me, which I appreciated, and she responded professionally. They had an elevator, and it was clean. I saw people working and the nursing staff. However, the facility is older."

"I liked it. I had a nice tour, and the person who greeted me was helpful and informative. The rooms were good. It would be a place that I would consider. The activities were acceptable to me. I liked the place. "

"My husband moved into The Grove at Trelago. It's a beautiful place. The residents are well taken care of. They engage the residents. I don't worry about my husband wandering off anywhere because they're watched. The food is excellent. The care is excellent. I have absolutely nothing but praise for them. The staff members are very caring and good with the residents. They have gardens that they can walk through, but it's still confined. Outside their apartments, they have shadow boxes into which they can put memorabilia. It's very well done. The food is outstanding. They have pools, and it looks like a resort. They keep them busy with activities."

"I visited. They were very, very nice and friendly. The only thing is they didn't have all the extra amenities. They have outings and stuff like that. It was a very nice place. It just wasn't for my mom. I don't want to make them not be good because they may be good for somebody else. The staff was wonderful, just like we knew them for a while. They accommodated us because I couldn't make it during the day. What they did was they came back that night and accommodated us. We didn't get there until like 6:00 and we were supposed to be there at 5:00 because we got lost. They were accommodating. They didn't have an attitude about it. They were going through some renovations. They were updating everything."
