"My parents love it there at Cascade Heights. We like the staff, they were caring and receptive, and they react quickly. And we had lunch there before we decided on a place, and out of all the places we had lunch at, they had the best food. They're in independent living; they have a cottage. All the staff members were good, except for maybe the housekeeping. They're not super friendly, but they're not bad. They've got all kinds of stuff going on. They got car shows, concerts, happy hour, and I think they did a Kentucky Derby also. It's pretty expensive."

"I don't particularly love the location of Brookdale Lake Orienta. It's a commercial area. I also felt like it was not what my sister needed as far as the age there. It felt very institutional to me. She is younger, so it wasn't something that would work for her. It had nothing to do with the service and the food. The care might be wonderful there, but it just wasn't for her. The staff was fine. The facility was clean. The rooms were also quite clean and fine."

"We've looked at Grand Villa Altamonte Springs. This is an assisted living facility and we are dealing with them right now. It’s close to my sister's house. We chose this facility because it doesn’t look like an institution. It's very clean and the staff is very lively. They all looked happy and well dressed with their makeup on. You don’t see anybody in a hospital gown walking around. Their meals are restaurant style. The apartments are really nice. The residents get to choose three choices with regards to their rooms. It looks like a home and it's cozy. They have apartment levels on the second and floor and all the activities are done on the first floor. They have terraces where the clients can do planting. They take the residents to shopping, to the beach, and to movies. They have a lot of activities that the residents can participate in. They really get the residents involved. "

"My husband moved into The Grove at Trelago. It's a beautiful place. The residents are well taken care of. They engage the residents. I don't worry about my husband wandering off anywhere because they're watched. The food is excellent. The care is excellent. I have absolutely nothing but praise for them. The staff members are very caring and good with the residents. They have gardens that they can walk through, but it's still confined. Outside their apartments, they have shadow boxes into which they can put memorabilia. It's very well done. The food is outstanding. They have pools, and it looks like a resort. They keep them busy with activities."

"They were very friendly. The dining area was very nice and clean. I liked the fact that they put table cloths and real dishes on the tables. I think the rooms were fine. The facility was not too big."

"We moved into Woodland Towers. It is a very nice place with nice grounds and restaurants right around the corner. The room is nice, too. We have a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, a bedroom, and a veranda. They have activities, like Wii bowling and bingo. The staff members are very pleasant and very nice."

"I thought Brookdale Wekiwa Springs was fine. It looked like a nice place. It is very nice and clean. It has a good surrounding and a good environment. It looks very nice, and they have a lot of programs and good facilities. What they said is that they have a lot of good services, but my mother didn't go there. We didn't eat there, but the menu looked good. The dining area looked very nice. The room was nicely decorated, and it was clean. It has a nice feeling and spacious. Nothing impresses my mother, but I thought it had very good social interactions. "

"Blue Palms Senior Living of Deland checked all the boxes that the level of care my sister requires, which is three meals a day, they'll do the cleaning of the room, and the laundry of both the linens and towels. They would dispense her meds for her, too. They have doctors that come to the premise that she can change to. It was a place that I was willing to put my sister in."

"I thought Grand Villa was beautiful and adequate for my friend. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and recently renovated. It’s easy to get to and there weren't any problems with the parking. It’s very homey and had everything you needed. "

"We had dinner at Gentry Park Orlando. They give you 2 or 3 options with each meal. So, you have some variety. The facility is new, clean, and very appealing. They have a movie room and an activities room. The apartments are kept in excellent condition. They have a bus that takes the residents to the doctor's appointments and several different stores. Then they have an outing where they go to dinner. So, they have lots of activities and it's maintained well."

"We're going to move into the Lakeside at Waterman Village. The staff is wonderful, it comes highly recommended by people that we've known who'd move in there. They're creating a new section, and we're gonna be in a duplex rather than in an apartment style of living, which gives us a lot more feeling of independence in our lives. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath, it has a den, open space living, dining, kitchen, it has a garage with it, and a place for a golf cart as well in the garage. They have a meal program in the main building that you can take advantage of. It has restaurants, it has a lot of activities, and amenities. It's pretty much like any graduated, continuing-care living facility because they have their own onsite health program, and they actually have an onsite CVS pharmacy. It's pretty comprehensive, you get cleaning once a week, your meal program that comes with your monthly fee, and you stay in your home as you start to need assisted living care and medical attention. They're just starting the infrastructure in the space right now, which means they're putting in the sewerage, the electric, the roads, and they'll probably in the spring start the housing, which would include the garden homes and two apartment buildings."

"We went to The Oaks at Waterman Village. It's a neighborhood type community with garden homes or villas; it's not an apartment style community. It's very nice, very well established, and very well kept up. We had a very positive experience. The food was well prepared, well served, the portions were very nice and large, and there's a lot of choices."
